Hello! I just hit Legend for the second time with this Rush Warrior deck. I have been playing lots of Warrior (Bomb, Control and Rush Warior) for two months now, but I couldn't push beyond D2. The recent nerfs to paladin, rogues and mages have pushed this deck over the top and is now performing extremely well. With the current meta as it is right now (mostly face hunters, control warlocks and paladins) I believe Warrior players can become Legend easy and fast with this deck.
Screenshot of Legend:
5 upvotes and I'll write a guide on how to play the deck.
How to play the deck:
Mulligan
You should always try to mulligan these cards: Athletic Studies - Crab Rider - Far Watch Post - Rokara
Decent cards to mulligan are also: Parade Leader - Playmaker - Outrider's Axe - Sword Eater
Avoid Conditioning and any card that costs 5 mana or more during your mulligan. And never use Conditioning if it hasn't reached 5 mana, it's simply not worth it.
Playstyle:
You should always try to get your Far Watch Post down ASAP against any opponent. Despite its -1 health, it's an amazing card (especially against aggro decks) that has two purposes: to delay your opponents pressure and since it must be killed it practically gives you +3 additional health. Other cards such as Bumper Car, Crabrider, Parade Leader and Playmaker should be put down during round 2 or 3 as well. Don't hold these cards back unless you have a great combo.
The death to any Warrior deck is its lack of card draw and one of the Warrior class' clear weaknesses. That is why I added Stonemaul Anchorman to the deck on top of Outrider's Axe, Stage Dive and Ringmaster Whatley.
When playing against Aggro decks like Face Hunter, Demon Hunter, Secret Pala you should always keep either an Outrider's Axe or Sword Eater. These cards buy you time to draw more cards when you need them the most.
There are several Warrior Rush guides that advise you to go 'straight to face' I strongly advise you to NOT do so. ALWAYS trade and get board control. Instead, respect aggressive opponents, and beat them by what I call ''building your base''. What this means is that to always have 1-2 minions on the board, have an equipped weapon and 2-4 armor at turn 4 or 5.
Hunter Cards such as Piercing Shot and Trampling Rhino are extremely effective to kill its opponents, so be careful when putting them 1/1 and 2/2 minions. Try to buff your minions with Rokara, Conditioning and Overlord Runthak.
As a warrior player our Hero Power is often not used. Too many warriors neglect the extra round(s) they add to their games when Armoring up often and strategically. Sometimes it is better to Armor Up and hold on to your cards, so keep that in mind.
I can't stress how many times I have won games against aggro decks where I have been at 1-4 health. Failing to armor up properly (especially mid-game) can lead to losses.
When playing against Control Decks, always keep an Outrider's Axe and be constantly mindful to have a constant flow of card draw so you can keep yourself to late game. You should trade less with your minions and more with your hero, but a clear board is preferred. Some Rush decks run with Robes of Protection to counter effective spells such as Hysteria but I found low success using this card because it wasn't draw and the current meta is of aggro decks so I had to use other cards constantly.
Win condition and combos:
This deck has amazing synergy between its cards.
First, the key card Athletic Studies is one of the best cards for Warriors right now. It's extremely versatile and you can get minions that suit your current situation and also it reduces the cost of your next Rush minion. Use it wisely, and if used at turn 1, always pick the ''generally'' best card against your opponent.
Second - you have amazing combo opportunities. Playmaker, Parade Leader, Rokara and any Rush Minion will give you insane early pressure.
Tip: You can get 2x copies of Rokara and Overlard Runthak from your Playmaker and buff your minions on the board or in the hand by a very high amount.
When entering mid/late game you have 2x Troublemaker to sustain your pressure on your opponent. Originally I never ran with Troublemaker, but this card is one of those cards you can put down and it you're immediately a threat again.
Regarding E.T.C., God of Metal, this card serves in most games as a finisher. But often against aggro decks - I use it earlier when I can still manage to get some value of the card (but not kill the opponent). The legendary requires instant attention and removal from the opponent, which means it forces your opponent to use his resources on the card that otherwise would have gone to your face. Against control I would always keep it till I am lethal or very close to.
Last but not least, Alexstrasza, extremely versatile card. This card serves mostly as a finisher but against aggro decks, I have also used it to heal myself if they were close to kill me and I made it to turn 9.
Weaknesses:
In my opinion, the only weakness of this deck is its lack of board clear and many minions (token druid). Always try to mulligan your Samuro against such decks and/or get one from your Athletic studies.
Substitutes: Personally - none. I have tested more than 15 variations (250 games) of Rush warrior both pre and post-nerf, for the curent meta I believe this is the best version. I have lost the games for you so you do not have to deal with sub-optimal versions of this deck.
Edit: I highly appreciate the feedback and comments people have given on this deck. People have mentioned several substitutes that they've had success with. I'll list them here for convenience:
Specific substitutes:
Ringmaster Whatley -> Cutting Class
Outrider's Axe -> Kargath Bladefist
General/other card substitutes/additions/changes:
Rattlegore, Armorsmith, Stonemaul Anchorman and Overlord Saurfang
If you have played this deck or a variation of it, feel free to share your experience in the comments.

I only stream HS (Ranked and Duels) and WoW (Rated Arena)
Wow, this deck is the best i've played so far. I changed some cards like Crabrider and Far Watch Post for Animated Broomstick, Tent Trasher, Doctor Krastinov and another Stonemaul Anchorman. I went from bronze 10 to diamond 9 from Thursday until Today.
wow this deck actually slaps im so glad i gave it a go :) TY
Good deck!
love this deck ! i only lose to mage . Its rly fun to just win against aggro types
Cheers mate. Yeah mages (especially no minion mage) is a bad setup.
Thanks for posting this deck and your suggestions. Just came back to Hearthstone after a 2 year break. I was running a slightly different Rush Warrior deck up to Diamond 10 with not enough card draw. I switched to this and it immediately felt more powerful. Keep clearing the board, buffing your minions and sneak in armor when you can. I ran from D10 to first time Legend with an amazing 26-5 record over 2 days. 9-2 against Paladin, 6-1 against Hunter.
Greetings Thorizan. Thank you for sharing your results and progress. Big grats on Legend (and also D10 with your own version of the deck). Glad to hear you could use the guide and found success implementing more card draw as I suggested! :)
This deck is unbelievable, I'm 7 - 1 right now (actually 7 - 0, i think i left the first game because my kids were all over the place and needed attention).
Completely destroys everything I've met so far, even secret paladin which has been a real dick in the face.
Also did the Kargath thing, and he won me 2 of the games simply because armor. Thanks for this, lets see how far I can get with it :-)
Also, I tend to play it slower, buffing my minions to oblivion and beyond, just because I can, and surprise the opponent with 1 mana 8/8's and a MASSIVE board, then they concede xD Loving it.
Hey mate! Glad to hear you are doing well with the deck. What rank are you at?
How to handle a mirror?
Isnt it a good strategy to just wait a bit the early rounds and maybe aim for conditioning in the mulligan?
Edit: You should really provide a mirror guide. Your deck made it to the TOP of played decks in the meta.
Problem is: its such a hard mirror. Both tempo and and control aspects of the deck seem to work 50% depending on how good your draw is
Hey mate. I fully understand where you are coming from, the truth is though when I hit legend with this deck, 2-3% of the playerbase were playing Rush Warrior, so I actually never met mirror in my sessions. Only Warlock, Paladin and lots of Face Hunters. And I had no idea the deck would gain such popularity (or my guide for that sake).
Against mirrior, I would do whatever I can to go for board control at all costs. Trade and get as most value of your cards as possible. I don't mind mirror at all - I never understood the frustration against it, it's a guaranteed 50/50 match up. And if you're better than your opponent, a little higher.
Hit legend with it today, it's been a while since I have seen a deck so effective and so fun at the same time. Thank you !
Hey mate! That's awesome to hear. Big grats with legend. You're welcome :-)
Been playing since launch, first time hitting legend with this deck! Consistent climb from D10, thanks!
Most be an awesome feeling man! Big grats! :)
First, would like to say thank you for the deck ! It's truly is amazing ! However I seem to always run into trouble when facing warlock. Is there anyway that we can defeat them? Or is it just me that keep losing to all the warlocks i encounter?
edit : Currently at Diamond 7
Warlock is a 50/50 matchup. They have SO much board clear. Play around Hysteria, dont over commit and hit face a lot. You're playing against time basically. Tickatus is not an instant loss, you rely on ETC or Alexstrasza to finish him off.
After i posted this i have been winning all the warlock matchup. The key to winning is as what you say, relying on ETC / Alex. And also hitting them in the face, even if they have no creature do not be afraid of putting minions on the board. I have also just hit legend ! Thanks for the deck !
Would Claw Machine maybe a good upgrade? Got him out of Athletic Studies and it was quiet a big gamechanger for me
Would say Claw Machine belongs in the lucky moments you can use it through Athletic Studies. It's simply a too expensive card, even though I fully follow you how it feels when you get true value from the card. But 6 mana is just too expensive.
