I am running the same list except two soul shears instead of backfire and vol'jin, so Thijs' winning list from last week's GM tournament. Any thoughts on why to put in backfire and vol'jin instead of soul shear? Soul shear works with Tamsin and general soul synergy seems very strong at the moment

I think the meta has shifted a bit since the nerfs and voljin less necessary

He was in mostly as tech versus Libram paladin - throw libram-buffed taunts back into hand

Backfire was there to draw your closers faster tickatus/y'shaarj but seems healing has become more of a premium so 2 extra soul shears (or more with Tamsin) is probably a good bet

Loving it so far. Any thoughts on a primordial protector? I would say maybe drop the armor vendors for a protector and second twisting nether. I feel like its a solid early way to corrupt Tickatus and guarantee a nether. And if you have coin and play it on 7 its pretty gross. Also a HUGE turn if you have both or one strongman in hand.

I'm going to keep trying it today. I was getting a little frustrated with some aggro decks yesterday. Another reason I like the primordial is because it would feel alot better to corrupt tickatus with that than a nether on a unworthy board or using an uncorrupted strongman to corrupt him. And by the way it seems I get hard countered by felosophy tickatus warlock so Im considering adding rustwix over backfire. It just seems like my hands always too full to use backfire. I don't have felosophy but it does seem really good.. I am trying it without Taelan to see if it helps not pull a nether until I get my primordial.  Heres what I'm trying. Granted it might just be bad lmao

I think I may just stick to your list. It seems a bit too slow and situational to be good. Unless you find otherwise.

Hmmm. Well atm with your list I'm struggling immensely with hunter, demon hunter, hero power mage, secret paladin, etc. I saw someone else say that the stats for Y'shaarj is sooooo bad in almost all matchups. And I tried it without and its like an autolose to almost any warlock who is running Y'shaarj xD

Y'shaarj is not about the stats its about 2nd tickatus/strongmen/cascading 

I'm seeing many warlocks going "cheaper" running more early game control for hunter - do remember that warlock is probably the big baddy at the moment and so MOST of the decks on ladder are designed as counters - like how everything was anti-mage a week ago

Hmm that makes complete sense. I'm just about to be at 950 wins and I'm desperate to finish it haha.. But no by stats I mean hsreplay stats in general around the Y'shaarj package.

good deck but why volgin ?

Voljin is amazing versus paladin to get rid of libram buffed minions and OFTEN pulls out liadrin or pen flinger to remove battlecry

oh okay how the deck been treating you ?

It's pretty good already - just struggles against Paladin or Mage if they get a good start, but with the nerfs coming today I think you will see this greatly improve in Win rate
