Wow I played this deck with some adjustments (Samuro and apoth for extra healing and clear because its a lot of aggro right now as well as double desperate prayer instead of sethik and raise dead) and I just hit legend from diamond 5 with ease. Blew threw almost every single deck with no issues at all. Very well made deck!

I made that changes in the official deck since they work really good and i hope that is ok for you. If you want me to revert it because it is technically your deck idea i can do that.

Do you find Serena Bloodfeather to be a necessary card? I have never thought of her to be that good and don't want to spend the dust to craft her if she's only sub par at best

She is not neccesarry but she is a very good control card. She instantly kills every 1hp minion and since she always has more hp and attack than the enemy minion you can use her to throw down the enemey minions stats ( if the enemy has the 8/8 divine shield minion for example buffed with librams it does not matter how many he buffes him if you play serena and hysteria you cleared the board and if he has no divine shield you even have a strong body on the battlefield) she is also great to slow down agro decks but as long as she gets no rush she is replaceable.

It would probably be best if you replacer her with a board controll card or a big minion removal or if you feel lucky you could try keymaster alabasta but thats up to you

I like the deck. I've tried a couple of match with it. I find Southsea Scoundrel and Mindrender Illucia hard to play.
In which scenarios are they useful?

Mindrender in control decks or other midrange/slow decks, to not make them play their key cards. There was only a single time, somebody destroyed my gameplay with it.

And the southsea make them draw a card they dont wanna draw.For example you can make a druid draw a minion, so it lowers the chance to play the spell with summons 2 minion with that special rush mode ... 

wel, these cards are to intelligent, to work efficient, i guess.

here is are some examples how you could use the cards,

Suothsea Scoundrel: the card is good agianst other contolre decks and won me many games. In Controll matchups you can make sure he goes to fatigue befor you and use his own crowd control agianst him or you could wait till turn 8  if he has like 9 cards in his hand you can draw him 1 (best if he can not use it like draw 2 cards or so) and overdraw a card of you choice ( tickatus, Y'shaarj, rustwix , jaraxxus , il'gynoth, deck of lunacy). in agro decks her stats with 4 mana 5/5 are stil lvery good if you draw your hunter enemy only deal 1 damage and summon a 1/1 hyena.

Illucia: Illucia is very situational if you can play her or not and is probably one of the first cards that i would switch. you can use her to counter celestial druid (steal his hand play his powerfull cards and set mana back to 0) or mages (steal there hand play all there good cards like ring toss refreshing spring water and his other reduced deck of lunacy spells) you could also steal warlocks tickatus befor he gets corruptet if you are lucky or you just use it to counter other controle decks and play there key cards.

 But as i mentiont above the deck does not work at the moment as it did befor the nerf ( no idea why because the nerve did not affect priest probably because aggo grow stronger since there counters got nerved) so if you wish to change somethign you can do that.

i totally agree with brightwing but i just love that card.

the skeletal dragon is to important for card generation you can,t risk to get non from your studies

Shadowhunter Vol'jin is great if you have set your healing spells to zero play Xyrella for the boardclear and put her back to your hand just to throw out a dragon you generatet from the skeletal dragon or the skeletal dragon itself.

For the two gods i was just running yogg at the start but to be able to beat warlocks you need cards that can be destroyerd in your deck so i added c'thun to get my deck to 33 start cards.

the Caravan is not easy to replace probably add another sethekk Veilweaver for one of them but stealing a survival of the fittest from celestial druid  or any mage spell that got changed from deck of lunacy is just to good and there are no other steal cards out there at the moment (at least i think so couldn't find one) .

you could try to run ysera to replace the skeletal dragon but it is always bad if the enemy knows what cards you have or keymaster alabaster but as long as he gets no taunt he just gets ingnored from any agro deck and you die after you play it (was already running him in a previous version of the deck).

shadowhunter could be replaced with tealon fordring or kelthuzard, i think that would not work out that good but that is something i could and wil try.

and for everyhing else i just can't finde a single replacer that i think could work.

So if you or anyone else who is reading this has an idea for the replacement of the cards it would be great

There might be a few cards too greedy in my opinion, but this seems good enough to climb in ladder ! :p

What do you mean with to greedy? do you mean the Skeletal Dragon?

I tried many ways to play this deck and that was the version that worked best for me, but if you have any suggestions on how to improve the deck and maybe know a way to beat mages i would appreciate your help and try the deck with a decktracker this time so i can add a winrate.

Ah ah, unfortunately, the good way to beat mages full spell at the moment is to wait for the nerfs coming next week ! :') I can't think of any specific tech card priest could play to counter them ! 

Well, I can give you some suggestions sure ( and these are merely tips, if you have fun with your current list, there is no need to apply changes to it ! :p ) , in fact I'd have 3 distinct ideas : 

I think there are 3 cards not really needed, too greedy indeed : Brightwing Skeletal Dragon and Shadow Hunter Vol'jin  For this legendary I understand you, I also tried a lot to include him in my lists, but he's just too situationnal in my opinion.  For the other 2 drakes, they are good cards, but I think discovering them with the studies is better than including them in the list. 

Concerning your 2 old gods ( Yogg & C'htun ) if you like playing them there is no need to change, but if you are looking to "optimize" your list, I believe you could only play one of them, or even none. 

And as a last tip, this one might not be relevant since you are playing a thief priest list, but even if it hurts me to say it, the Soothsayer's Caravan is not such a strong card. :( The Psychic Conjurer you also included are way better for instance, 

And that's about it, the rest of your list is pretty strong, and I tried to point out the "weakest" cards of the list, in case you want to change it. 

HI Olwen i was looking in your Value Spell priest and didn't know you are that famous.

thanks for still taking your time to look in my deck and give me some advices i never reache legend and hope to change that this month, if i get stuck with my deck i will make sure to try out your deck but most of the decks that run the Nazmani Bloodweaver are just to complicatet for me i always manage to end up without cards.

and for the Southsea Scoundrel i think it is the most underestemated card of this expansion most controlish decks like warlock and mage hold 8-9 cards every turn and no one expects her if you play her 2 times on turn 8 and he has 9 cards you can choose 1 card you think he can't use (best a card that draws him cards so he can't paly it instantly ) and 1 card you want to destroy him ( tickatus, deck of lunacy, y'shaarj or a piece of C'thun) and you destroy another random card.

i still think it will not work out in your deckl but you can proof me wrong.

Ah ah, well famous is a big word, I post some lists on the website, and sometimes people enjoy them, I'm not famous. x) 

No problem for giving some tips, I'm a priest only player and I find your list interesting, she looks fun to play, and that's the reason why I felt like sharing our opinions between two priest lovers ! :D 

Yeah I think you are right, and I got quite surprised when I saw the 5/5 body of the Scoundrel, in my opinion it's even too much for a 4 mana minion with such an effect. I'll play her a bit tonight and tomorrow, I'll see if I'll keep it in my list or not after trying her out.

I didn't think about those plays with Vol'Jin, but I can see the synergy with Skeletal dragon then. Now as I've mentioned, those were just suggestions, and if you are having fun with your list, no need to search for substitute cards ! :p 

The problem with Soothsayer is that his effect is at the start of your turn, meaning you are not even sure to get a single spell from him after playing him. And his bad stats make him an easy target to remove for control lists, while being easy to trade for aggro ones. You could probably add a second raise dead, or a sethekk along with a holy smite for instance !
