Hi,

Paladin secret was one of the first "working" meta decks that I played in HS.

So, with the new legendary I tried to put together a pala secret deck.

The deck - Introduction:

The archetype of the deck is definitely midrange/tempo. The idea is to disrupt your opponent by playing asap your secrets. This is not only a very tempo play (each secret is actually 1 extra mana on board) but also it makes your deck thinner, that would provide a lot more consistency.

So, in barren they introduced Cannonmaster Smythe, that provides extra tempo and value from our played secrets. And Northwatch Commander that not only draws a card, but it assures that you are not going to draw a secret. Both cards are actually very good and synergise very well with the core of the deck. Finally they added a new weapon with secret synergy: Sword of the Fallen that comes very handy in the early game to clean 1-2 drops and start taking the secrets out of the deck.

Aside from that, we, of course, include the well know (or not so much, pun intended) Mysterious Challenger to completely switch the tempo in the game on turn 6.

Early game:

I added some cards to fight the early game, since we are not focused on winning the game on this stage, we just need to avoid getting killed and/or getting to behind on tempo.

I really like Hydrologist because she adds a 2/2 on board and we can discover a new secret. Muster for Battle is probably one of the best turn 3 in HS. And lets not miss that Northwatch Commander has vanilla stats for a 3 mana card.

Mid game:

Here's where we are supposed to shine. We play Mysterious Challenger to clean the deck of secrets, we use Cannonmaster Smythe to flood the board with 3/3 from the secrets that we played from the hydrologist, weapon, secrets we drawed, etc.

Hammer of the Naaru for 6 mana is actually very good. 3/3 weapon that ends up in 9 damage face and a 6 body that protects us.

Survivability and end game:

Finally, I added some tools if the game extends too much. Those tools are for surviving and controlling mana cheaters.

To survive I added: High Exarch Yrel since we are playing by chance a pure paladin deck, Ragnaros, Lightlord for a masive heal and Hammer of the Naaru puts a huge taunt in the middle.

To control the game: Sunkeeper Tarim thats not only a very good card to stop the enemy and make good trade but in conjunction with Muster for Battle is a very nice combo! Consecration to clean the board. Keeper of Uldaman for single targets. Lord Barov for huge clearing, can also be used with consecration.

For the endgame, if you think that you cannot win by tempo and/or you are not drawing your key cards, I added: Prince Liam for an alternate win condition. Just like rafaam, usually adds huge value but requires full devotion to the RNG god.

The secrets:

Singularly, the most powerful secret we have is our pseudo counter spell: Oh My Yogg!. This card disrupts so much the enemy on key turns that it makes the deck to work.

Then, comboing, the classic AvengeNoble Sacrifice is very good. Considering that you are going to have stuff already played, that's just face damage and a stronger board harder to be dealt with.

Reckoning and Redemption are added so your opponent wont easily guess what are your secrets. Nonetheless, they are good and can provide utility.

I didn't want to add more secrets because I know how this ends up: completely dead games that you draw all secrets. Reminds me the "drawing only cards/lands" from MTG.

Some final words:

The deck may not be SSS Tier, but it's fun as f*ck. It reminds me a lot to the old secret paladin and it can fight almost every other "troll/homebrew" deck out there. (because there isn't a worse sensation over being beated by a terribly bad deck lol).

I encourage you to try it!

Thanks.
