Hearthpwn

I played a lot of spell shaman in year of the phoenix and I was afraid the type was dead due to rotation. All the Barrens murlocs did not help... But I think it is the new cards in core, all the bad rotated spells and Novice Zapper, Bru'kan, and Venomous Scorpid can make the archetype viable.

The idea
Either use spell damage minions and burn face. Bru'kan is the best minion for that.
Draw a lot of spells with either Malygos the Spellweaver or Vashj Prime to burn face.

The cards
I initially though the only face burn was Lightning Bolt but after finding Serpentshrine Portal and Dunk Tank are nature spell as well then Bru'kan looks nuts. 
The only concern is to stay alive long enough to use Bru'kan with Lightning Bolt.

Taelan Fordring can pull Malygos the Spellweaver, Vashj Prime, or Bru'kan. Taelan Fordring also gives more surviability.

Dunk Tank will most times never be corrupted. But as it is a nature spell that can go face I think it is good enough.

Other cards: 
Novice Zapper is finally a 1 drop for spell shaman. Spell Shaman struggles a lot in the early game due to no good one drop. Usually a good turn 1 would be  Primordial Studies into Lady Vashj. This gives spell shaman a board presence on turn 1, which is huge.

Diligent Notetaker is stable in almost all shaman decks. One more Lightning Bolt  is huge.

Instructor Fireheart is one of the best shaman cards as it can give a lot of cards in a class that lags card draw.

Wandmaker can pull 5 spells that are all playable.

Landslide early good early removal and now it got even better due to Novice Zapper.

Bloodmage Thalnos is spell damage and one of the only card draw available to shaman.

Venomous Scorpid is a better Marshspawn that the opponent has to deal with.

Feral Spirit is really good against aggro and it gives nice board presence. Due to the low mana cost of this deck the overload is not huge. 

Molten Blast is burn damage and can work as early removal, but I am sure that it will stick in the deck.

Guidance is really good when spell shaman did not have anything to do on turn 1. I hope that the new spell pool will make this card even better, 

Other cards that could see play in this
Marshspawn could easily find a place in the deck. I would properly cut Guidance or Molten Blast for it.

Tidal Surge or Torrent could also find a place if more removal is needed. Tidal Surge could be the difference when facing aggro as it is no longer possible to discover Witch's Brew. 

Lightning Bloom is really good but due to having received Novice Zapper spell shaman can actually do something on the first turns.

Sorcerous Substitute requires Rune Dagger in order to be able to get the effect regular. Rune Dagger requires Cagematch Custodian to be more reliable. Hence, we are using 5-6 card to play a minion with no effect,  Sorcerous Substitute would also be pulled before one of the important cards with Taelan Fordring.

Rune Dagger is just not good enough without both Sorcerous Substitute and Arcane Watcher.

Ras Frostwhisper the effect is nice, but ruins Taelan Fordring as it is pulled before Bru'kan. It is also one of the cards that need Rune Dagger to function nicely. But even with the down sides I can see this card making the list.

Speaker Gidra was a bit weird to play in year of the phoenix as the arche type contained more minions. But could find a place if more early game presence is needed and it does not ruin Taelan Fordring from pulling a good card.

Imprisoned Phoenix I image that it would be part of a otk combo. But I do not see shaman having enough time to play it, 

If Kazakus, Golem Shaper is turns out to be the go to legendary. It could be used instead of Malygos the Spellweaver. But then Dunk Tank also has to go. 

Cards we lost
Squallhunter is a huge loss, but it is also the reason why I think Bru'kan will be good as it is one more spell power.

Arcane Watcher really good early minion. Rune Dagger was run in order to get this and Sorcerous Substitute down. After this has rotated I think spell shaman is going to run without Sorcerous Substitute. 

Cobalt Spellkin good body and nice spells. But would properly be cut today due to not wanting to draw it with Taelan Fordring.

Spellbook Binder early draw card. I think Wandmaker is already better than is card.

Frost Shock will be missed as it was one of the better spells to get from Wandmaker.

Lave Shock will be missed, but Dunk Tank is almost as good
