Last expansion I created a control Shaman deck that was pretty effective, fun to play, and relatively under the radar. It was a great deck to climb and experiment with if you enjoyed not playing the usual boring meta. Here is my revised take for the upcoming expansion. The spell damage package has been removed to make way for Elementals, with Lilypad Lurker being such a strong card it almost begs for a deck to be created around it. Cthun remains as an activator for Dunk Tanks, (another insanely strong card), and Primordial Protector will even fetch you the pieces as they are the highest cost spells in your deck after Cthun breaks apart.

Exclusions/Inclusions:

Why no Bru'kan? - Not enough good nature spells. I foresee him being dead in hand most of the time. Of course I could be wrong...will definitely test both ways.

Ooze? - Rogues and Warriors are already going nuts from the streamer previews. Definitely needed. Jaraxxus too.

Scorpid? - Card is just nuts. Shaman has super good spells to discover too. Autoinclude for control.

Earth Revenant? - Honestly might be too weak, but it fits the 4 mana slot to enable Lilypad next turn. Will require testing. If stealth Rogue is still common then definitely keep.

Why no Fire or Earth Elementals? - Still don't seem good enough. Earth Elemental basically "does nothing" and plays too well into Warlock Siphon Soul which it seems like they will all be running now. Fire Elemental could be an option, but had trouble cutting other cards for it. If losing to aggro then replace Steward of Scrolls with Fire Ele.

Primordial Protector with only 5 mana spells? - Yes. There is no rule that says the card is only good with the highest mana spells possible. You are still getting great stats for the cost and drawing arguably your most important cards, Cthun Pieces. They enable dunk tanks and get them out of your deck to avoid being milled by Warlocks hopefully.

Comments/feedback LMK! Cheers.
