Looks fun! One question: if you don't draw Groundskeeper on curve (turn 4), or if you draw it but don't have a 5-cost spell or more, you won't get significant amount of armor until turn 8 with Cenarion Ward. In that case you will lose to almost every aggro deck there is, and there's a lot of them in this meta. My point is, even how much I want this deck to be viable, I think it's too slow in this meta. If you curve right, it CAN work, but you have to draw very specific cards on curve. And statistically you won't in most matches. I love Druid and would love for other than Ramp or the new Treant decks to work, but I think this won't work in this aggro meta. But again; it looks fun, so I will give it a try.
Nature studies and guidance early help me most of the times, but yeah that can be categorized as being lucky. And you were right, there only 10/33 spell in this deck that was cost >5, it doesnt make the groundspeaker and steel beetle consistent very early in paper, but in my experience, at least on turn 5 it was active for me.
As for the face aggro matchup, solar eclipse just for crystal power (heal face) is worth it.
True, you can get a lot of value from Nature Studies! And cheap heal for face is also good against aggro.
If you most of the times can play a Groundskeeper or Steel Beetle early, you have a good chance! And with the four C'Thun spells as well, there is (as you say) a good chance of having one 5+ cost spell in hand.
Nothing to explain.. You will be surprised how this questionable deck works well in the current meta ;)
