Duel Paladin, in my opinion, was already an underrated deck. With so much Pure and Libroom Pally out there, your opponents don't often see it coming.
Barricade turned out to be the perfect new card for this deck, giving you a taunt (or two) to stall out the game a little longer until you can bring the big guns on board.
Testing Runaway Blackwing but, so far, it feels pretty good. If pulled by Commencement it's especially nasty to deal with. It's not sticky like the other BIG minions, but it makes up for it by essentially being a Ragnaros that doesn't go face. Slap a Lightforged Blessing onto it for a big heal.
Mulligan is pretty straightforward. Keep First Day of School and Air Raid always. Probably Barricade, too. Also keep Hand of A'dal if you have a First Day of School in hand.
Archmage Vargoth is less clear cut. Pulled by Commencement he's amazing because he gets a shield AND casts another Commencement. Pulled by Duel! he can die but if he doesn't (he does have 6 health after all) that's another Duel!. So I've changed my thinking on Vargoth as I've climbed up the ladder from keeping it in hand to have more control over its use, to believing the rewards outweigh the risk of putting it back into the deck.
If you're missing one of the big neutral minions you can make substitutions. What you're looking for is big stats and stickiness. Tirion Fordring is a viable substitute with its shied, taunt and weapon as is Evasive Drakonid, which gives you a taunt that can't be targeted by hero powers or spells.
So far I've managed to climb from Silver 10 to Diamond 5 with this deck. We'll see how much farther I can take it.
UPDATE: Tested Snack Run last night in place of Flash of Light and climbed from Diamond 10 to Diamond 5 so I'm going to call that a success. As others have pointed out, not only does it give you heals but also the chance at additional Duels and Commencements as well as other useful spells like Subdue. By and large I prefer cards I can always count on versus cards that are random, but Snack Run pretty much always gives you something useful. The deck has been updated accordingly.
2 месяц подряд беру Легенду этой колодой ;)
2 months in a row I take the Legend with this deck )
Thanks, just hit legend with this deck, went from diamond 10 with only 3 lost matches :)
Hi there!
Great deck, thanks a lot!
With a few changes have reached 14\3 count. Just 1 necessary recomendation for newbee's; Get Ysera, it's Tier 1 card for this deck.
Best regards
Thanks! Ramp Paladin kind of swamped it ... and I see why, that deck is nuts ... but this one is still strong and fun if you're up for playing something a little different.
2 of 2 RampUther's outplayed by this.
Still 45% lucky + 55 deck+skill...
What other changes did you make besides Ysera? I'm curious.
Cose I had not found "Air Raid", I added "Mysterious Blade" x1, and "Goody". Also, 1 "Hammer of Naaru" swapped with "Evasive Drakonid"
smt like this
37/20 for now
Acctualy got legend with this deck with the statline of 22/7 from rank 5. Switched out Colossus for Turalyon since i didnt have him. He was VIP in alot of games so dosent feel like a loss at all.
Really great deck mate, and snack run was indeed a great inclusion!
EDIT: Also lacked a second hammer of naaru, but subbed in Tirion, just to stack up on minions and he is always great.
The Turalyon change you made is one I've strongly considered but I just love the big, beefy stats of the Colussus. Glad you made it to legend!
Great deck. Better than those netdecking lists everywhere. at least a different deck on ladder. it's a medium-high difficulty deck to play with it, but very smart.
Kinda win with less than 10 life points almost everygame rsrs it's kind of a struggle but a fun one at least.
It's very much a come from behind deck, which is not for everyone. And clearly not for aurae who seems traumatized by the mere fact that I even posted this deck.
Hahahaha ...it's a really surprising moment when the guy sees that will lose to a guy with 1 -9 life points. They keep spamming emotes and quit
Edit: I Made a little change - one less desperate measures for the new Beast Legendary. When it comes with taunt or when u buff it, it becomes a real threat and a good wall against damage and mages in general.
There is no way a deck should have 12+ uplayable cards in the firstst 4 turns THIS DECK SUCKS AND IS A BAIT, you can play with this deck if your opponent does nothing in the first 5 turns or more and even if that happens you will not have many more chances to win compared to a game where your opponent plays; in every other cases you will lose by having the feeling you didnt even play because that is literally what will happend. 0 consistency, yes it has some early game but is not enough..... means it can win only if you are very lucky or if you are playing against suckers wich you cant lose aniway. If someone have a positive winrate with it doesnt matter. Not an opinion not a statement, not a personal experience; is just a fact of what it is : a good deck to maybe win at gold and it doesnt give you any fun most of the time.
And also would like to ask what is the purpose of Desperate Measures ?????
törö
So you haven't actually played with the deck, and you are touting your guesses as fact? News flash buddy--this isn't a meme deck. HSReplay has it as a tier 2 deck and tied for 3rd best paladin deck in game at the moment. Desperate Measures is there to provide a way for you to get to turn 5, and can also load up sick protection secrets for your big bois with Redemption & Oh My Yogg!... but don't take my word for it, I'm not guessing like you. I only played 30 games over the past few days with it at legend rank with a 60% winrate.
"You need to get lucky and draw duel to win!"
Stop getting fixated on that one card and start focusing on building early tempo.
First day of school and air raid are insanely valuable cards that dominate the early game. Getting either one of those in a mulligan is a crushing start. Especially when you combine them with hand of a'dal to really get a snowball rolling. Desperate measures complicates things enormously for your opponent, considering it's a 1 mana twinspell card. Don't forget even in the lategame, you can spam out both uses of the 1 card for a humble 2 mana to try and establish an Oh my Yogg! which can completely negate your opponents board clear. You can also use it as a 1 mana tester for counterspell, mage is very popular this very minute, and you don't want to see your duel or commencement getting blocked.
If you've been unlucky enough to avoid all of those previously mentioned cards, you can most likely play a maul into an activated barricade or board-resetting consecrate to create some huge tempo shifts in your favour from the spawning effect of it.
All of this stuff comes before Duel and can easily win you the game. Real shame to see people be so quick to shit on a great deck and its creator.
My WR, currently at Diamond 2 with the deck: https://imgur.com/a/TyK19vy
this deck seem to attract many legend bragging loosers that still have no idea about cards or the game. Nice way of dealing with them ;)
Duel Pally or recruit Warrior is one of the funniest decks in game.
True, most of them dont understand this deck sucks idk how, yeah funny deck if you are not planning to have a good enough win rate.
I've got 63% winrate with it on 49 games in plat/diamond. Currently using it at diamond 2 for legend lol. Maybe spend a bit less time harassing people kind enough to post decks and learn how to play, dickhead.
