The deck is fun but I added the Reno quest because Reno as a hero is just bad beyond belief. I can't count how many times his hero power lost me the game because it decided to attack me or my board so many times. Literally in the last game I have 5 2/2 minions the opponent has 10 health and only plays a taunt minion I can destroy because I have a card for that. Reno destroys 3 of my minions and I lose.
I took out one Arcane Intellect because usually it isn't that hard to get card draw with this deck especially if you have two Font of Power cards. Sayge comes up quite often.
Why using C'Thun, the Shattered with Deck of Lunacy? Deck of Lunacy will transform C'Thun pieces and you will be unable to use his battlecry.
You either pick up all the pieces and have a good time, or they get turned into "8" cost spells that can be used to generate more value.
It all depends on when you draw Deck of Lunacy and how many pieces you have already found.
Some games I get almost to the bottom of my deck before I even see lunacy, so C'thun is your win con.
Some games you get lunacy, Incanter's Flow and some card draw in your opening hand and just close your eyes and pray!
Hello,
This is my first comment.
I made this deck , because I saw a lot of pleople using. I don`t have Reno, and I am using Quest . I don`t have C`thun as well and I using Side Quest. I won from ~13 games in row with this deck from S10 to ~S3 . You need to have luck and to kill all minions or freeze them.
Thanks for the deck :D
Have a nice day!
I'd love to see someone make an indepth video on Deck of Lunacy to actually figure all this out and the best spread of spell costs for value, what costs to avoid adding to your deck etc. I feel there's a lot more to the card than just a meme. This is so far what i've managed to come up with.
This deck has 4 5 cost spells which will turn into 8 cost which has a lot of really bad choices in it, while the good options aren't game winning. The other main costs in the deck are 2 cost which there are 28 options for 5 cost spells, most of them pretty good but 7 from what i counted really bad ones. Then 1 cost, which there are 40 4 cost spells, the most possible variance, and also really good options but a lot that will be completely useless.
I'd personally try to fit in atleast 4 6 cost spells, as those turn into 9's and there being only 3 9 cost spells in standard, 2 of which are really good in Libram of Hope and Plague of Death, the other being Mass Resurrection. So it allows you to control your pulls a bit more.
I would also try to have more 4 cost spells in the deck too, as there are only 10 7's in standard, but only really 1 terrible option in Commencement, while giving you potential access to 4 cost Flamestrike, Sprint, Earthquake, Mark of C'thun, Overflow, Soul Mirror etc. 3 costs are als decent too add into the deck at 6 cost spells on the whole are pretty strong.
I would also love to see a guide on the perfect spread of spells, but in my experience, you have to strike a balance of two things:
1) Drawing Deck of Lunacy early
2) Not drawing Deck of Lunacy until the end of the game
If you draw it early, having the perfect spells in deck to transform would be ideal, but if you don't draw it early, you want your deck to perform well without it. My current list runs two Fireballs and two Ring Toss, but the remaining 4-cost spells that mage has access to are not as great in this deck. Mage also only has two 6-cost spells right now in Blizzard, otherwise I would totally run more if I could.
As for 8 cost spells... there are 9 out of 14 spells that I would consider good and that's not a really great number but it's also not bad. I think you just have to hope for the best and sometimes you can even combine some of the not so great 8-cost spells with stuff you got earlier to make them work. (Except you, Guardian Animals, I never need you!)
Fixed that for you.
