Hey everyone, I'm Gatormatthew. I finish top 500 on NA every month, and I make educational Hearthstone content. Today's guide is on what might be the most fun deck I've ever played: Miracle Priest. It's a really unique deck that I went 9-6 with in my early legend climb (was in gold ranks, but I have 11x star bonus MMR, so it was vs 11x players). It is also extremely cheap and has an extremely high skill cap, every turn is a journey to think through. Below, I have a written guide where I discuss the deck as well as a YouTube video where I play a few games and commentate my plays, Enjoy!
So, I know what all of you are wondering. "How in the world does that garbage looking list win games?" Frankly, I'm not too sure either. The clear win condition is generating spells with Sethekk Veilweaver. This card is legitimately the only threat generator in the deck, however, we do have two copies of Raise Dead to get more of them. Another easy question to ask is "Why would you put Voracious Reader in this deck?" I have a more clear answer to this one. While it looks crazy, it has inherent synergy with the deck's low-cost spells and Nazmani Bloodweaver. The main problem with Nazmani Bloodweaver with such a low curve is you just run out of steam. There are two ways to remedy this in this list, you can play a Sethekk Veilweaver alongside it to generate value, or you can just play all of your spells and Voracious Reader after it. It essentially acts as a way to cycle and draw, combing well with Nazmani Bloodweaver.
I've tested a lot of different lists of this out and I think there are a lot of ways to take this deck. Ideas I have are things like Idol of Y'Shaarj and G'huun the Blood God. These two cards both work great with discounts and provide you fuel to use later on in the game. However, I actually never really had a problem with running out of steam with this deck. If you do, I'd try these cards. Gift of Luminance is a more practical lategame bomb in my head. It works great when generated, so why not maindeck it? If you see lots of control decks, I would include a copy (the card you cut first from my list is Whispers of EVIL). A point against the Idol and G'huun is that the deck wins through fatigue mostly, not rushing people down.
Mulligan wise, the #1 goal of the deck is to corrupt Insight at all costs. The reason we run so little minions is so this card always gets us a power piece. To mulligan for this, we always keep Insight andPalm Reading. They have incredible synergy together and work well against any style of decks. Against tempo-based matchups, keep Nazmani Bloodweaver. Don't get baited into thinking this is a combo piece, dropping this on turn 3 vs Aggro DH, for example, is a great way to contest their board and corrupt Insight.
If you want to see me play live on Twitch, I stream every weekend from 1pm-3pm EST and every Mon/Wed/Fri from 1:45pm-3:45pm EST. Link to Twitch
This deck actually looks pretty fun. Like aggro priest, I guess?
The list is good for a budget, too, which is always nice. I think I'll give it a try!
Its not an aggro priest at all! The deck strictly wins in fatigue. You essentially just sethekk them out of resources. The deck doesn't actually have any tools for getting your opponent to zero health apart from fatigue :P
I've never played priest but I love Sethekk Veilweaver and now I can play deck entirely based on this card! Deck is mega fun to play and I already won 3 games in a row.
Awesome! Glad u enjoyed
what about cthun for a finish?
Deck dosen't need it. The main problem is surviving till fatigue. It pretty much never runs out of value. Drawing a C'thun card is a dead draw.
Do you think this deck can fit a yogg for memes?
For sure! I don't think it would be the best option for a "lategame bomb" that I talked about in the guide, but it would be a fine meme addition to the deck (there are many worse options).
