The main win condition of this deck is C'Thun, the Shattered. I say main because this largely depends on the what you're up against. The decks second win condition is by Milling/Fatiguing your opponent through your Tickatus combo.
Against Control:
Mullians: Always Keep Supreme Archaeology and Plot Twist and maximize the drawing into your C'Thun activators. Once drawn, you're going to want draw and play them ASAP. Against slower decks will allow you the added benefit of using your Tickatus..
Against Aggro:
Mulligans: Try to keep early game removal such as Dark Skies, Unstable Felbolt, Soul Shear, and School Spirits; I would prioritize the latter two if going agaisnt DH/Hunter, as you want as many healing opportunities as possible against these decks. Prioritize Felosophy + Aranasi Broodmother + Plot Twist along with your Sense Demons to generate as much healing as possible over time. The deck has the ability to generate up to 56 health over time passively. Super aggressive decks will not be able to keep up with your health and removal as long as you control the board in the early game.
Card Swaps/Specific Matchups
Feel free to play around with this list. If I'm against Warrior I like to swap in Ironbeak Owl [/card] and/or [card]Acidic Swamp Ooze for one or both of the Felbolts. Against Clown Druid, keep your Twisting Nethers.
Let me know if you notice a better way to play it or if you think it's useless to keep C'Thun. Happy to hear feedback!
Very fun to play. Didn't play HS for long time. Spend all my dust to this deck. And you can be sure that you can push ladder for gold. You can see how my opponent was astonished on this screenshot. :D
Hahaha nice screenshot!
Nice deck, I like it. But it's mostly not or very hard working. It's very strong but win rate is not so good. :/
Thanks for the feedback. It's definitely good on paper, but seems to be missing something with the current Meta.
I am playing with a tempo style Warlock now; I'll post the deck once I grind a bit more and get some stats.
would really like to play it but I face evolve shaman every time
Evolve shaman is difficult to beat but just need to focus on keeping cards like Dark Skies and School Spirits to wipe out his little minions before they are evolved.
Additionally I added a Kobald Stickyfinger to the deck, really good weapon removal as it also blocks a Hoard Pillager if they haven't played another weapon.
Yea I put the Kobald in. Sometimes helps against the Hunters or DH too. Also I decided against Felosophy. and went for Alexstraza and corrupt medic. If I draw the shard cards early I have a chance against Hunter or Aggro DH, control is also good so far..
Maybe you can play Keli'dan and polkelt, you'll then have another good win condition when c'thun is in the deck
I haven't played with Keli'dan. The situations where that card would add the most value are way to limited IMO, unless you can guarantee its draw on your next turn.
Haven't tried to put in Polkelt. From my experience with this deck, C'Thun seems to almost be the very last thing played, usually winning the game if you survive to that point. I would just hold on to piece 4/4 of C'thun, then play it + Tomb of Origination for a zero cost C'Thun. That way at least you can get a partial board clear with Cascading Disaster on the same turn.
I tried polkelt, and it's very good. You can get Y'shaarj to rush your opponent more quickly for only 6 mana, and have a good way to play C'thun or Twisting Nether for 0.
I admit Keli'dan is not that good, but it is not worse than Siphon soul.
I am really interested in playing a deck similar to this! I currently don't have all the cards though and I'm wondering how it functions without Supreme Archaeology? Or are the discounted cards later on a must-have?
I was also wondering if Kanrethad Ebonlocke and Abyssal Summoner could have a place in here as well? I've always liked the idea of "big demon" decks, but would it still work in the current meta? It seems like this deck already plays without small demons, so maybe?
Not totally necessary, but if you're not going to run the quest, I would suggest putting in more Taunts, such as Khartut Defender and Circus Amalgam, in place of some of the removal. Abyssal Summoner could be a good option to put in this deck as well.
Is there a reason you are using Sense Demons Instead of Free Admission for the potential reduced cost?
I think he wants to draw a demon here. The chance of drawing a Broodmother is much higher with sense demons!
It's because I want to guarantee healing (as long as it's not already drawn). There's also a high chance of drawing Tickatus as well which is great, although it will be full cost.
