TIER 1 ODD PALADIN

In less than 1 hour, i made my way from Platinum 8 to Platinum 2. I really think Odd Paladin (OP) is gonna be tier 1 in this expansion. Now gonna talk about the few upgrades it receives from Darkmoon:

Oh My Yogg! This card is a less consistent Counterspell. Many times you mess up your opponents’ boardclear, but there are times where they cast similar spells that destroy your board nevertheless. (Several times they gain two mana rather than one mana from coin which is pretty annoying). Still, overall a really solid card that allows you to keep your board of silverhand recruits until you play your warhorse trainer or quartermaster, so one copy of this card is totally justified.

Carnival Barker: really strong replacement for Steward of Darkshrine. Now with the new legendary card i am about to discuss, divine shield is rather abundant in your match. Two 2/3 from your hero power, or lost in jungle is also almost invariantly better than two 1/1 with divine shield. The one health doesn’t make much of a difference to my experience, so barker definitely deserves two spots in this deck.

Lothraxion:  fantastic artwork, fantastic intro animation, and fantastic intro music. Usefulness wise, absolutely great in OP. This card gives OP more consistency in the mid game, which you will more often find yourselves in matchups against Priest  (Strategy against each class will be discussed towards the end). Overall, just another great 5 drop to this deck.

Overall, this deck utilises a mini divine shield package, as there are some divine shield minions in the deck, and a lot more guys after you play Lothraxion. 3 mana 3/2 weapon itself is good even to justify its inclusion in the deck i feel, and it is very common to get the benefit of It’s battlecry. In terms of mulligan, absolutely keep tour guide, lost in the jungle, righteous cause and crystology. Against Priest, keep at least one secret if possible. (On top of what have been mentioned). As for other classes, as long as you have the cards mentioned above, it should be rather favoured towards you, unless they nearly fill up the board on turn 1 (Which aggro Druid can do).
