Hey everyone, I'm Gatormatthew. I finish top 500 on NA every month, and I make educational Hearthstone content. Today's guide is my first one during the new expansion, Aggro Warrior. This deck includes a lot of new cards is a hell of a lot of fun. Below, I have a quick guide + a 20-minute video where I play a few games with the deck and explain my choices. Hope you enjoy it!
The main thing to keep in mind with this deck is your best two cards are Imprisoned Ganarg and Ringmaster's Baton. These are your two main mulligan keeps. Don't keep both of them together, Ganarg > Baton. The main mulligan outside of those two cards is mostly just to keep things like Sky Raider andParachute Brigand. Just keep in mind that the deck needs one of Ganarg or Baton to function, so aggressively mulligan for them. One thing to note, ETC isn't actually necessary for this deck, its probably fine to just slot in a Darkmoon Dirigible in his place.
If you want to see me play live on Twitch, I stream every weekend from 1pm-3pm EST and every Mon/Wed/Fri from 1:45pm-3:45pm EST. Link to Twitch
Hope you guys enjoyed, I'll have more guides coming out on Hearthpwn/my YT in the future :)
Funny deck! Thanks man!
The first 5-6 games have been a nightmare, but once you get used to play it its really enjoyable, the guides are very helpful. ^^
My record in the last 10 games is 7-3, not bad :P
Thanks man! I have plenty more guides coming on my YouTube/Hearthpwn in the future. Stay tuned :)
Well, it is a nice and fun deck but unfortunately it didn't work for me. So far it's 19 losses agains 16 wins at Platinum (46% WR). I struggle agains everything that has strong Taunts like Libram Paladin or this new Warrior I have just encountered for the first time. The deck runs out of gas quite fast if you don't draw through it the right way. Other than that Shamans are a pain in the ass. They keep changing your own buffed minions whilst dealing with them. 20% Paladin and 23% Shaman encounters tell the story...
Edit: Adjusted numbers above. Giving up on this deck. I just ran into a Wall Priest which gave me the rest. My suggestion is, that you can be really good with it if you know exactly what cards are around and what's being played. I need a little more control for now. ^^ Thanks for the deck and cool guide!
Good luck in your games! Pally is def a tough matchup. I haven't had too many issues with shaman, though
Replacement for lorekeeper?
Hot air balloon!
Hope the guide was helpful. I have more coming soon!
This deck is one of those which sparked my ranked climibing mania again. From 10 games 8-2 rn .
(instead of polkelt {i just dont have him} i placed the new c'thun since his 4 pieces are more supportive and it helps a lot if i get stuck)
That's..... an interesting replacement. Glad it works for you :P
Hope the guide helped. I've got more coming on Hearthpwn and on my YT channel. Stay tuned :)
Really fun deck! well played
Thank you :)
First 10 games- 7-3, not bad. (i'm not a good player, just stuck in gold)
Awesome! I released a guide yesterday with a deck that will absolutely blow your mind, highly recommend it :)
Sad when I packed ETC but glad after playing this deck.
Switched lorekeeper with a broomstick for some stupid combo's :)
:)
How do you deal with multiple taunts?
You try to kill your opponent before they set them up.
If the deck you are referring to is rez priest, that probably isn't a good matchup, you have to try to get underneath them.
Yeah okay, was just wondering in general.
so far i'm 5-2 with it i love this archetype alot, havent been able to play E.T.C yet wich is a shame. Lost against a secret mage and a quest rogue who got his 3-2 hero power with immunuty to hero dmg, so he just auto cleared everything without being punished. Upvoted from me :)
one thing though, i feel 2x Stage Dive is a bit overkill since we only have 2 rush minions, and i often find myself drawing atleast one of them before stage dive. Any possible replacements or is it just bad luck from my side with drawing those all the time?
Stage dive is one of the strongest cards in the deck BECAUSE we only have two rush minions. This deck ends games extremely quickly. The chances you draw both bumper cars before a stage dive is incredibly low, and again, we want the game to end so fast there aren't enough draws for it to happen.
I've watched your video, and I'm playing this deck currently. I literally won the first game by Having ETC out and playing 4 Rush minions and a knife vendor to finish off my opponent's last 12 health. ( Priest ) ( Turn 8 ).
I reckon that's most likely where you will run out of steam as well, Card draw is my only issue so far. a bit of RNG.
Card draw is a huge problem is this deck. The goal is if you cant kill them with your final push, you eventually draw polkelt into your burn and kill them. The main problem is that the deck doesn't really have any other possible draw options :P
Hope the guide helped, I have more coming in the future!
