Deck Intro

Welcome to a fun combo deck for this niche meta pre-darkmoon. Meteor OTK mage! The deck has a 4-5 card combo, depending on how much damage you need. You will be spending 99 % of your time either drawing, counting cards or controlling the board. The last 1% is nuking your opponent for anywhere between 30 and 60 damage face.

 

The Gameplan

Basically draw and control the board. The deck has 3 types of cards: Survival, draw and combo pieces. Usually you want to spread them out, depending on the type of matchup.

Against aggro try to gauge how much damage you can and will take per turn. Focus on control/survival. Also whether you have Ice Block up matters a lot. Focus on cards that draw solely for you, try to avoid using Research Project or Coldlight Oracle until late game, since it helps them more than you.

Against more control decks try to burn their cards with Coldlight Oracle or Research Project, without burning yourself (so count your hand size every turn). Main goal is to get your combo before they can disrupt you, try to wait with freezing boards until they become threatening (lethal).

Always good to mulligan for either cheap draw or Ancient Mysteries, Doomsayer + Frost Nova in general.

 

The Combo

Essentially you want to gather 4-5 combo pieces, depending on whether you use one Mo'arg Artificer for board control along the way or not. Then you need Emperor Thaurissan + Drakkari Enchanter, which are used to double discount the other cards.

The main combo revolves around this MVP

and Silas Darkmoon. Which will be played right next to the Ashtongue then rotated so that the Ashtongue ends up on your opponent's side. After that you play your Mo'arg Artificer and Meteor. Should look something like this:

Then throw your Meteor on your opponent's new minion. Like so:

Watch the damage transfer while you wait for victory (or in this case: disappointment for only having 1 Mo'arg on board.)

Substitutes

Arcane Artificer is a nice chunk of health and a decent early game body to throw up and sacrifice to the aggro gods. You could also exchange it for a 2nd Ice Block.

Coldlight Oracles might be a bit costly and hurtful if you are facing too much aggro. You could replace them with an Ice Block and a Mad Scientist.
