Hello everyone,

I'm  Elhwing, a priest only player, and  I like crafting some  original lists to get legend every season. :) 

I  took a small break since August, and I decided to come back playing hearthstone this month, and I felt like  trying to give a chance to one of the new priest legendaries, Disciplinarian Gandling

The idea is to play a low mana curved list, with many synergies to get  control of the board early and/or get 1 cost minions that you'll play with Gandling. Obviously, playing a big turn with this card is not mandatory to win games, but it's often helpful, and always surprising for your opponent. 



 24/10 EDIT : 

Decided to tweak my list a little ( 3 changes, see down below ) and went 12-1 from diamond 5 to diamond 1. 



After this winstreak, I lost my last game before getting legend to a shaman token, I played it poorly, didn't really know how to play around this list, but I could have gotten 94 % winrate 13-1 with this list if I had played better ! :)

In the end, I climbed legend from diamond 5 with 76 % winrate, the list feels pretty stable, and seems to be both a fun and viable alternative to the usual galakrond priest lists. 

Here  is a fun example  of a game against  hunter where he conceded  turn 6 : 

I play Gift of Luminance on EVIL Conscripter , get a free trade  on his 4/2,  this is turn 3. 

Here is the board at the end of my turn 5, where i played the coin + Gandling +  1 lackey + 1 Disciple of Galakrond he conceded right after ! 


Substitutes/Thoughts on the list : 


The idea  is  to play something different from highlander galakrond or control galakrond ( both are strong lists, but  I played them too much this year, needed a change ).  

I'm still trying different cards, to see which ones are best fitted for this "archetype". 


Shadow Madness was decent in the list, I cut it out to try the new Gift of Luminance spell, with the idea  to have ways to snowball early if your opponent doesn't clear your first minions, and so far, this spell was useful.


I haven't tried them out yet, but when I get them through Invoke effects, Grandmummy and Flesh Giant are sometimes really helpful. 

Grandmummy is a bad draw in late, but when you get it in early or midgame, it works pretty well to maintain board control, synergizes with Gandling too. Flesh Giant requires some setup, it's not as broken as other Giants that ruled former metas, but from what I've witnessed, it's usually a good minion to get with invoke, so I assume it could fit in the list. 


24/10 EDIT : 

I made 3 changes to my first version : 

- 2 * Time Rip 

- 1 * Fate Weaver

+ 1 * Penance

+1 * Mindflayer Kaahrj

+1 * Acidic Swamp Ooze

Those cards felt too heavy in the curve, the ooze helps in many match ups ( and can be used with Gandling ), penance is just a really good spell, that works with Sethekk aswell. 

Mindflayer is the one change I'm not so sure about, it's often a good turn 3 minion ( against aggro/midrange, even using it on a 1/1 or a random T2 generates value ), but I might try to find a better substitute.
