i found that the 2nd tidal waves are is unnecessary i never needed it, i changed it to speaker gidra that gives a little more early game removal serpentshire also good
BEIt doesn't matter what gets teched in. I'm not losing to aggro or early-game pressure. I'm losing to value. Every deck I'm facing at 3-4 diamond right now is value-based and I'm getting rekt with this deck. I'm trying to help people out. This deck is not that viable anymore at low diamond. It's all Galakrond Rogue, Value, Shaman, Pure Libram Paladin, and other value-based decks. I'm 2-7 in my last 9. My last game was against my 3rd Galakrond Rogue in 5 games and the moment he hit turn 7 he just popped Galakrond and I could not keep up with the value generated from lackeys for the next 15 turns in a row.
EDIT: It should be noted that I'm not just hating on the deck. I went from 10 diamond to 2 diamond with about an 80% win rate and the deck was absolutely dominating. The meta has shifted and the majority of decks I'm facing now counter this.
EDIT: I was able to get down to 1 Diamond with this deck but it's literally all Pure Paladin and Galakrond Rogue down here. I've played 6 consecutive games against this and this deck simply cannot contend against either. I know a comment above says that Galakrond Rogue is winnable but they Rogue literally has to be an idiot to lose against this even without Toggwaggle's scheme. They will simply flood the board over and over with huge value you will not be able to keep up. Pure Paladin is unbelievably lopsided. I'm 0-9 overall against Pure Paladin.
Best bet with this deck is to wait until last day of ladder when everyone is desperately trying to hit legend and you'll face a lot of aggro Rogue, face Hunter and various Demon Hunter decks that you can counter.
Can't agree more.
Deck is really good. IMO should be at least tier2 in this meta.
I have to disagree with you about Priest. It really depends on the list they use. I use a more minion based list, and as long as Glakrond isnt in the bottom 10, its not too hard to beat Shaman. Constant minion pressure every turn mid game is really hard to deal with and leaves them reeling near fatigue, Archivist isnt even played yet, and if they do play it, it gaurantees they lose to the last board.
A good Priest player knows how beat it.
While what you say sounds true, in practice ATM, in the current Meta, this deck is doing really really well. And its fun if your a control player!! Alot of people are. Try it before you denounce it!!
Pretty bad deck to be honest. It has no teeth at all. Having infinite heal means nothing unless you only face extremely grinds control decks or complete burn out aggro. Any midrange deck or Librium Pally will overwhelm you despite your pointless healing, and demon hunter will just kill you with weapon damage. Maybe It’s better at a different level.
Instructor Fireheart replace ?
I've been having a lot of success with this variant of Control Shaman. Control Shaman in my opinion is very underrated and this meta is awesome for this deck. The only match up I worry about is Pure/Broom Paladin. It's winnable for sure, but more like a 55-45 or 60-40 Paladin's favor. Any aggro matchup is just a breeze and the Priest matchup is so easy, I can play it blind folded.
I am hoping the new expansion brings more value/control tools for Control Shaman<3.
Paladin was my easiest matchups. 6-1
That's awesome to hear!
Gotta be honest. This deck is all about stall. And in this meta.. you get whooped. Bomb warrior, spell mage... you're done.
??Bomb Warrior is one of the easiest decks to defeat with this setup. Using Diligent Notetaker and Witch's Brew together the Warrior just runs out of steam, they can't keep up with the heals. Spell Mage is a 50-50 matchup depending on how many of their big spell minions they can push out in one turn.
Hunter and DM don't stand a chance.
Priest is a breeze with Archivist Elysiana.
I'm having really great success with this deck so far, but Mage can be an issue. If you can Hex Astromancer Solarian and take care of the Mana Giant's before she can multiply them then your usually gtg.
Until you hit 8 bombs and 4-5 of them go off in a row... lol
It can be unfortunate sometimes when they get lucky and have that many drawn at one time. You can use Sphere of Sapience for this, it will help you avoid 4 of the bombs for a time. Also dont be afraid to throw Archivist Elysiana a little earlier toward the end. Another trick to use is when you comfortable with the cards in your hand, just keep drawing until you have 10 and keep your hand full. This will destroy the bombs.
Hit legend with this deck. I was rank 4.
Demon Hunter turn 7 did 18 damage and killed
Deck seems alot of fun!
I'm missing the sphere, lurker and swampqueen. Are those replaceable or really essential?
I added an extra Devolving missiles, Bandersmosh and the fist instead.
Dekk also recommends replacing them with Sticky fingers and Harrison Jones. I like fist of ra-den; it puts some extra cards in your deck you play 1 cost spells. It could work well if you draw cards with Harrison.
I am not totally sure Bandersmosh will cheat anything out that will give you an advantage or even be good for tempo play. Maybe Smosh is the one you swap out for weapon removal.
I really appreciate Dexter's efforts
This deck is awesome. Feels great to win every single game against agro.
I first had mixed thoughts about Elysianna -love the card, but it's hard to fit her in this meta- but she won me a game against a priest, so I'll keep her around.
Just made it to D5 with this deck, win streak of 10-0 against mostly hunter/dh, 1 rogue and 1 priest.
Thanks for the deck :)
