This is my tweaked version of Libram Paladin with a focus on heavy control and value. Using this deck I got to legend from Diamond 5 in 2 days playing 30 matches. Having a 77% win rate made it quick!

BTW. I made it from Bronze to Diamond 5 using the default Lightforged Librams deck. I then modified it to make this deck to get to Legend.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Legend!

Control Cards

  • Subdue x2 - Yes, 2. Really good at reducing big threats, or even medium ones to keep tempo
  • Consecration x2 - With so many aggro decks this is great. Also if you use with Libram of Justice you can very often clear the full board.
  • Libram of Justice x2 - Really makes the deck shine. Use on a full board and clear with your minions or Consecration. Still useful on 1 or 2 big minions in a pinch.
  • Libram of Hope x2 - Yes, this is your hope against all aggro. Reduce its cost with Aldor Attendant and or Aldor Truthseeker and it's often playable by turn 6!
  • Tirion Fordring - While it has less stats than Libram of Hope, it provides a 5/3 weapon which is most often used to attack face.
  • Lightforged Zealot x2 - Amazing card! Use to get minion + free weapon that heals. I play this card a lot, often both before a match is done.

Early Game

You always want to be playing things to control the board as soon as possible. Top mulligan targets are First Day of School, Aldor Attendant, Murgur Murgurgle, and Shotbot. Get minions that stick and then buff them up.

Goody Two-Shields - Okay card. Only 1 included. It often doesn't work out to be able to utilize the spellburst, but it is a good threat to have your opponent focus on.

Value Game

You can burn through cards fairly quickly, so it's good to generate more cards with Lightforged Crusader x2 (by far the most common card I use to reload my hand) and Bronze Explorer. Murgur Murgurgle is also nice, but out of 30 or so games I only got Murgurgle Prime a couple of times.

Lady Liadrin is nice to have, but more of an end game card to reload your hand after you have played a lot of buffs already.

Buff Cards

  • Hand of A'dal - Card draw + buff is great.
  • Libram of Wisdom - You'll use this A LOT. Try to reduce the cost by 2 ASAP to get a free buff you can reuse a lot.
  • Blessing of Kings x2 - Much better than Blessing of  Authority. You can use the minion buffed to attack right away which has won me multiple games. Also 1 less cost is valuable for tempo.

Cards Not Included

  • Argent Braggart - Good to produce a quick threat, but that can often lead to just getting a board wiped and losing more. This deck is more about playing a bit slower and utilzing the buff cards above across a lot of minions.
  • High Abbess Alura - Really meant for a different type of deck. To get good value you would have to remove a lot of situational control cards like Subdue and Libram of Justice. The randomness is what can lower your win rate.
  • Devout Pupil - I've beat many paladins running this card, because often they have to play it before reducing it's cost a lot. It's better to focus on reducing the cost of Libram cards.
  • Gift of Luminance More expensive buff that you tend to want to save for the perfect minion, which will rarely happen. Better to use normal buffs quickly.
