Hi Guys,
i just created a Control-Highlander Mage with less RNG-Cards. I have good results (20-8) with it in dumpster-legend (approx 16.000).
I will write a detailed guide at 5 upvotes.
Hope you enjoy it.
Update 30.08.2020:
I improved my winrate with the following changes:
- Arcane Breath: Sure, it´s a good card. But we have enough removal and not enough dragons to make this really work.
- Malygos, Aspect of Magic: That was a tough call. But it´s to slow. A 2/8 for 5 mana is not fast enough in the current meta and due to the strong early and mid game, we are not dependent on its magic
- Ras Frostwhisper: He was actually only in the deck because of the aoe. There are much better options as you will see now.
- Cobalt Spellkin: 3/5 stats for 5 mana are too weak and we don't necessarily need his 1 mana spells.
+ Overconfident Orc: It slows down every aggro deck very early on. With his strong stats he is a welcome partner in our deck
+ Escaped Manasaber: It also fits perfectly into our control deck, because on the one hand it can react to different game situations due to its stealth, on the other hand it can cheat mana and in best case enable a Reno-Play on turn 5 (which is a insta win in most cases).
+ Ogremancer: For me the most underrated card of the whole expansion. 3/7 stats for 5 mana is already very strong. But the card only becomes ingenious through its effect: When the opponent plays a spell, the card casts a 2/2 (!) minion with taunt (!). The opponent tries everything to destroy this card on turn 6 and thus accepts extremely unusual plays. For me one of the strongest cards in our whole deck.
+ Ruststeed Raider: Another awesome removal card. 5/8 rush on first attack. After that it still lives in most cases, only with 1 attack, but there is still a taunt on our board. Brilliant!
I hope the changes are fruitful for you as well and you can continue to climb.
