Been having decent success with this on ladder.
70% WR and surprisingly competitive against pure pala and ramp druids.
Against more aggressive decks, if you have clever disguise in hand for turn 2, and finish your quest by turn 4, you're almost guaranteed to win. This happens surprisingly often.
At first glance you may assume it lacks card draw but the generation of resources really helps to keep hands full that I dont think another dirty tricks or even adding a questing explorer is required.
I am under no illusions this isnt completely refined, I would like to make room for another shadowstep and maybe a sap but don't know what to begin dropping. I dropped to one toxinblade from 2 to make room for the first shadowstep and the steeldancers are surprisingly clutch so Im reluctant to drop them.
Comments and suggestions welcome.
I'm playing a bit different version of Rogue Quest that is not focus on the weapon, but i like your deck list. And i'm having fun. But i'll try yours. I don't have Doctor Krastinov, any replacement ?
I've replace him with Pen Flinger. There is so much spell in there that it bounces back into your hand really often.
Captain Greenskin? Or a 2nd Toxinblade? Tbh I have never found him absolutely neccesary.
Just wanna let you know I'm 13-6 with this deck with majority of the losses being paladin (just cause their mid-game swing turns are insane), but I'm having so much fun with this! I went ahead and got rid of a x1 bamboozle for a x1 shadowstep just cause it's perfect for wand thief, and also completing quest.
All and all, props to you my friend for this fun deck, reminds me of the ol' Spectral Cutlass days.
Thanks for the feedback dude. Means a lot.
Well hello there. I did find this deck idea almost immediately when posted and I thought to try it out. I made some card changes from the start that I’d like to share and explain the reasoning behind them, as well as a key note that you haven’t mentioned but, I believe others should know cause it speeds up the quest.
First of I’ve removed the 2x Dragon’s Hoard and the 2x Hench-Clan Burglar. The reason behind this is because I feel both these cards are kinda slow for the current meta and for the quest. In their place I’ve putted 1x Preparation, 1x Blade Flurry, 2x Cutting Class.
Preparation is mostly for if I get high cost spells from Clever Disguise or for Blade Flurry vs extremely agro decks.
Cutting Class is for the card draw (obviously) and I feel that 2 mana (cost when unbuffed ancient blades) for 2 card draw is decent.
Secondly I’ve removed 1x Bamboozle for 1 more Shadowstep. Shadowstep is way too good in this deck!
Key note: I don’t know if that was supposed to work like this but, if you already have two cards from other classes to your hand and you play Secret Passage, when those cards return again to your hand (effect from end turn after playing Secret Passage), they count again for the quest!!
So, lastly, after discovering this key note effect I’ve decided to remove the 1x Dirty Tricks for a 2nd Secret Passage. And usually my starting game goes like this:
Turn 1: play quest, Turn 2: play Clever Disguise, Turn 3: play Secret Passage, Turn 4: have Ancient Blades ready.
Best case scenario though is to have coin so you can go Turn 1: quest, Turn 2: Clever Disguise + Coin + Secret Passage, Turn 3: Ancient Blades ready.
Other thoughts:
So far 2x Secret Passage helps with either speeding up the quest or finding faster a Clever Disguise.
Plagiarize also helps with the quest if you can’t find a Clever Disguise, but I’m thinking that if players start playing more around it, I might change it for other secrets and see how it’ll go.
Same thoughts for future replacing Blade Flurry.
I’m also thinking for the rest questing cards synergy, though I don’t feel this deck needs more card draw with Questing Explorer nor is in need of coins with Licensed Adventurer. But I’d like to include Sky Gen’ral Kragg! I believe that if I ever remove Plagiarize secret I might replace 1x Vendetta for him.
So, those are my thoughts so far. Can’t yet properly evaluate the deck as I’m still laddering in Silver (haven’t had the time to play much yet ☹). Hope that I gave some extra ideas and if I manage to evaluate the deck in the later ranks I’ll come back for more thoughts and points.

Thank you for your analysis and suggestions. Much appreciated.
I do agree that shadowstep is super valuable and said so in my OP that I wanted to find room for another.
I can see that removing one bamboozle might not be a bad shout and will try this myself.
I might meet you halfway with the hench clans and dragons hoard as I have never thought they were slow myself, coining a hench clan on turn 3 is actually very good, a step towards quest and a beefy minion is not bad, even it forces the opponent to commit removal.
I did know that plagiarise finishes quest so I can see why adding a second would be a good shout. Infact I think card is the MVP of the deck and my personal favourite card of the whole expansion. It's crazy how much value this can generate. Worst case scenario opponent plays around it and youve stalled them a turn or even more if they have nothing to do until they can dump some cards on you.
All in all though i think this has the potential to be a tier 2 deck, potentially even 1if refined enough. I toyed with sky general but something about keeping this deck pure rogue made me decide against it (even if some of the cards are dual class).
I look forward to your further data.
Here are some early stats and notes.
Info: v1.0 wasn't the posted one, I've had -1x Secret Passage and +1 Dirty Tricks. The posted v1.1 above is with +1x Secret Passage -1 Dirty Tricks, but I ended up preferring v1.2 with -1x Bamboozle +1x Dirty Tricks, mostly to help me draw what I need in times of bad mulligans.
Honestly most of the times I either lose from fatigue unable to burst down my opponents (mostly vs priest/warrior) or, I lose from opponents that are more aggressive than me (demon hunter). Still the deck performs excellent vs Paladin and Druids.
Some stats below, only from 32 games though from all versions. I'm playing more on wild (easier to climb higher) and battlegrounds. Also trying out some other decks in standard.
