Due to recent comments and traction the deck is getting I feel I need to put a disclaimer here about crafting decks this early into a new launch. PLEASE be aware that what may have worked for me, my friend, and a few other people on site for the past few days does not reflect how much it might continue to work as other wild decks are altered and new ones figured out. There is also the looming knowledge of nerfs in the next few weeks to come like all expansions have. I cobbled together this deck because I was bored, had the cards, and thought it would be fun. I never expected it to do as well as it has been doing! Please think before you craft anything. Think if you think it is fun and worth the potential it might not go as well as it has for others and myself. Dont craft cards unless you are gonna accept that it was your choice to make those and no-one forced you into trying this out.SO! I made this deck and then had my buddy Kiwi test it out and he hit legend from rank 5 diamond with a rate of 45-29. I myself am currently 23-4 though from silver 4 to plat 10. making the total winrate up to 67.3 but i figure that a little lame to click bait such a high number when it is really more around 60%
This is a very mid-ranged deck where the goal is to stick a few minions in the early game to buff up and overwhelm the opponent. As a big bonus we run Lorekeeper Polkelt and Holy Wrath + Molten Giant and Shirvallah, the Tiger to blast the enemy into oblivion. This can be done as early as turn 5!!
I will do a further mulligan guide and a bit on match ups when I have played more of it and better know the matchups myself.
Untill then please feel free to comment what you think of the deck and have fun out there!
8/9/2020 edit!
Alright, so a bit of a mulligan guide, its not the most difficult thing but it can be good to keep in mind.
Against most things you almost always wanna keep First Day of School and Crystology these both get you on the board fast so you can buff things up.
Another thing you wanna keep if you get it is High Priest Thekal as it means Molten Giant wont be a dead draw- if you get both him and a giant in your opening hand then you have the nuts, congrats. Play him on 3 with a giant and you will steamroll most games. Against a priest you might want to wait until you can giant + Argent Braggart just to try and make sure they cant death both.
Now Libram of Wisdom and Hand of A'dal are both great buffs but general dont want to keep them in hand unless you have a Crystology, Aldor Attendant, or First Day of School already. Otherwise you want to mulligan them to get those cards.
One last little thing real quick, you beat Mechathun warlock easy as hell. On the turn they play a minion like Hemet give it a libram and they just cant deal. watch out for the plauge of fire as those can mess it up-
8/11/2020 edit
I added a few disclaimers at the top of the deck page-
I am currently looking into edits for the deck to try and improve things further as a few people pointed out First Day of School though was rather good as the deck first was made, as really declined in its usefulness in my games. I have played only this deck in wild and got from silver 4 all the way to diamond 9 with a win - loss of 58 - 26 . It is fair for me to say 7 of those losses were in a row. Variance is variance. So my personal winrate has been 68% and that is DEFINITELY on the high end for the deck and a outlier. In fact in diamond I have hit a bit of a wall.
I urge commentators that did take the risk in crafting or already had the cards to post thier win - losses as well as problems they have found in their matches, and potential edits they might think will work! This current list is still the first draft of the deck and thus in need of refinement.
I've come up against this deck a lot using Evenlock and Kingsbane Rogue, and the broken nature of some of the cards made me want to try it so I decided to start here.
The first thing that took me by surprise is that you don't have a single Wild Pyromancer! That's a mistake - it's just too good to leave out when you're running Libram of Justice and have the potential to make it zero mana. It's definitely more important than running First Day of School which, as has been mentioned countless times, generates more bad cards than good. The only downside to running Pyromancers is that they prevent you from running Equality or Lord Barov but you don't have either of those in your deck anyway.
Played this from Bronze 10 to legend with an 73% winrate between this list and an alternate version tweaked for aggro. Loved the list, thank you.
Deck code is locked for me cause i dont have the hero unlocked :( why would they link a hero to a deck code :(
Hm, not sure how to fix that, you might need to manually put in cards- Sorry!
This deck is worth every drop of dust. Currently played 17 games with a 88.24% win rate. Thank you for sharing I shot from bronze 8 to silver 2 in an hour!
I'm having great success with adding Sphere of Sapience. It makes the OTK way more reliable.
If you don't get both giants on turn 4, Renolock. If you get both giants on turn 4, Razakus. Anyway it's a meme, it can be fun, but OTK works better.
As per the author's request:
I built this deck as posted 8/7/2020 which included 2x First Day of School and 2x Argent Braggart. I had a win loss rate of 2-2 with both losses being to an aggro deck. I'm certain if I continued playing this version my winrate would have gone up as I probably was unlucky but yeah.
So to counter, I removed 2x First Day of School and 1x Argent Braggart for 2xWild Pyromancer and Lord Barov. This was a monumental change and I reached D5 with a record of 18-4 for v1.1. Often, Lord Barov was just sitting in my hand and caused some deep anti-synergy as it set my minions to 1 but was useful in 2 games where I had a bad draw and was facing aggro. However, 2xWild Pyromancer is a MUST in this deck - its so powerful and provides so much synergy its insane with discounted Libram of Justice and buffs (keeping it alive). This card has proved more than useful for me.
I am not a fan of First Day of School in this deck. Although, I understand its to "get on the board" - often if you don't have any buffs its quite bad and the 1-drops in wild are often meh due to the many filler cards printed. If you have High Abbess Alura and was running other spell burst, perhaps it would be better to have a 0 cost spell [ I haven't got her to test it out... 😢 ]
Final edit and a thank you:
Hi, I just hit legend for the first time with this deck after also changing out Consecration for Sphere of Sapience with a winrate of 38-11 (78%) from Platinum 9 to Legend. I just wanted to thank MontyPlays for posting this decklist, it has been an absolute blast to play and I never felt I was just grinding the game for legend.
I thought about High Abess Alura , but that would be bad as she could very well cast holy wrath on herself- in most of my games for the past while I have seen littles times when the pyro has been of use to me, but i can totaly see how good it could be
I found in the silver ranks, the First Day of School also helped a lot with Convincing Infiltrators, as the lower ladder seems to be largely priest. Diamond is almost all rogue, which can be daunting, but tempo plays with Braggart make for easy games, and sapping a cheesed molten giant is weak at best.
I'm thinking that this could be combined with the OTK recipe (Uther + Beardo), since you have the Librams, Liadrin and First Day of School.
Currently sitting 16-6 with the deck. Went from silver 8 or 9 to plat 9 while learning the deck. Hardest matchup so far seems to be secret mage. Other aggro seems to be a toss up (pirate warrior can't do much against the spikeridged steed without a cannon or barge, and gibbering druid just conceded to conc). Deck feels AMAZING against HL Quest while regular HL mage seems harder but still favorable. The first day of schools have felt great to me (maybe just getting lucky with draws but notable game winning drops have been babbling book and risky skipper) but generally just getting bodies on board vs aggro/tempo matchups helps you getting to the mid game where your buffing the board. Lynessa has been consistently HUGE! Coming from a place where i loved OTK shirvallah when it was in standard this deck feel waay more consistent in getting to the combo and healthier while doing so. While i haven't played this list much YET it is shaping up to be one of my all time favorite lists.
The issue I see with this deck and why I don't want to craft it is I feel that libram paladin will get the nerf hammer in standard soon and I also don't own many of the cards. I immediately thought of the same holy wrath combo upon seeing the new expansion cards and I like that you've pieced together roughly for the most part some really strong combinations. I'm thinking of crafting Lorekeeper Polkelt, Shirvalla and the molten giants, maybe a braggart or two. I already have Thekkal, so with these being the core of one key win engine, I plan to cut out the libram stuff, I simply don't have Lady Liadrin or Vynessa Sunsorrow and I don't plan to craft them. Might just see how that goes with a mech package or with immortal prelate which I already own. I also have 2 meanstreet martials and maybe handbuff could also go well since I'm not sure how many mechs you need to keep the reliability up.
Edit* Maybe I don't even need Shirvalla, maybe 25 damage is overkill with holy wrath and since I'd be cutting a lot of the spells, 20 damage on a mountain giant seems just fine. With just Polkelt and the giants, I can also just cut and change into a warlock build.
I do fear the nerfs may be coming, and have been looking into possible changes that would be successful in steering away from librams, the thing is so far all those buffs have really helped in pushing my games into victories.
Anyone criticizing the deck isn't playing it correctly. I'm 11-2 and blazing through diamond easily (should hit legend tonight). My only losses were to super aggro discard warlock where I was outraced way too early and pirate warrior (same deal). Against anything tempo or control this deck should win almost always. Thanks for the great deck!
Yeah i dont really know what's wrong cause i climbed from d5 to legend in a couple hours XD
Another bait deck... don't craft if u doesn't like to lose for bad draw or bad mulligan (happens very often)
Yes there can be bad games, but most people commenting have been having success, including myself. Obviously don't craft something if you dont think it will work for you.
gotta agree, the decks looks like a bad joke.
First Day of School for example, what is it doing in the deck? how does it help with its goal?
Blessing of Authority is also another one, specially 2 copies. In standard i can understand but in wild 1 copy is more than enough.
don't craft anything for this deck unless you and sitting comfortable on dust like Pr1ncipe4i20 mentioned, this is pure bait.
62.3% winrate my ass
First Day at School can go, but both Blessing of Authority are a must. I feel way more comfortable cutting an Aldor Truthseeker.
