MY name is Anomaly and I bring to you a Midrange Pain DemonLock!

After seeing the rest of the cards in the set, as well as watching streamers play theorycrafted decks, It is quite clear that some new decks will be featured in this next Expansion;

  • Tempo/Spell Damage Mage
  • Beast Druid
  • The return of Tempo DH (With Soul Fragments)
  • Aggressive hunter decks (Beast/Face, Maybe Highlander hunter but it cannot beat the decks mentioned above)

My first attempt at theorycrafting warlock was a slower take on a greedy Hand/Demonlock deck :

But I dont think it will be feasible to play cards like Sathrovarr, Archwitch Willow and even Lord Jaraxxus because the meta is gravitating towards almost hyper aggression. I have made quite a few changes to get this deck online much quicker than the previous deck, this deck combines some pain elements with the fragment package to increaseFlesh Giant consistency as well as, get on the board with good tempo generating or swinging cards from turn 3 onwards.

These four cards will carry the deck to the turn 5-6 power turns with Void Drinker and Flesh Giant because while it does revolve around self-damaging effects which can be a risky plan vs other aggressive decks, the soul fragment package will help with additional healing. I have foregone adding School Spirits because this deck wants to get on the board and maintain control of the board as early as possible.

I have still kept some concepts from the first deck though, keepingVectus to generate a guaranteed 5/5 with lifesteal and another prime is really good. This deck has a surprising amount of big threats as well if the game does drag on. In those scenarios you wont run out of gas like other faster decks do because of cards like Enhanced Dreadlord and of courseKanrethad Prime.

The idea from this kind of midrange deck was influenced by the fun I had with Midrange Paladin in Knight of The Frozen Throne, having an early murloc based early game, and having tools like Tyrion in the late game to stay relevant on board.

EDIT:Vectus is a greed card, not needed whatsoever, however I have addedLoot Hoarder for a little bit more consistency withVectus as a test. I have cut theBonechewer Brawler forSchool Spirits after getting feedback from multiple people that it’s felt fine even in a deck with quite a few early game minions. Do keep note of the fact that you can just play Vectus as a 5 mana 6/6 with 1 or zero deathrattles previously played.

Im going to be trying the “death rattle package” of Enhanced Dreadlord , Vectus, and Loot Hoarder over the weekend. On Monday after a good sample size, I will make the call if it’s better running something else.

I MIGHT CUT THE LOOT HOARDER FOR A Bad Luck Albatross because of the early dominance for Guardian Animals Druid ( the albatrosses are 1/1 BEASTS) and of course it turning off pure synergy.

EDIT: Experimenting with cutting the whole deathrattle package, for Hand of Guldan draw engine. This means anything beyond 5 mana minus the Flesh giants are also being cut for a much higher tempo deck.

I will be updating the deck with the help of your comments and more insight from playing the deck myself.

Currently 37-14 from bronze 10 x10 star bonus to 1100 legend. Looking good!

Hope you guys enjoy!
