MY name is Anomaly and I bring to you a Midrange Pain DemonLock!
After seeing the rest of the cards in the set, as well as watching streamers play theorycrafted decks, It is quite clear that some new decks will be featured in this next Expansion;
- Tempo/Spell Damage Mage
- Beast Druid
- The return of Tempo DH (With Soul Fragments)
- Aggressive hunter decks (Beast/Face, Maybe Highlander hunter but it cannot beat the decks mentioned above)
My first attempt at theorycrafting warlock was a slower take on a greedy Hand/Demonlock deck :
Minion (19)
Ability (10)
Playable Hero (1)

But I dont think it will be feasible to play cards like Sathrovarr, Archwitch Willow and even Lord Jaraxxus because the meta is gravitating towards almost hyper aggression. I have made quite a few changes to get this deck online much quicker than the previous deck, this deck combines some pain elements with the fragment package to increaseFlesh Giant consistency as well as, get on the board with good tempo generating or swinging cards from turn 3 onwards.
These four cards will carry the deck to the turn 5-6 power turns with Void Drinker and Flesh Giant because while it does revolve around self-damaging effects which can be a risky plan vs other aggressive decks, the soul fragment package will help with additional healing. I have foregone adding School Spirits because this deck wants to get on the board and maintain control of the board as early as possible.
I have still kept some concepts from the first deck though, keepingVectus to generate a guaranteed 5/5 with lifesteal and another prime is really good. This deck has a surprising amount of big threats as well if the game does drag on. In those scenarios you wont run out of gas like other faster decks do because of cards like Enhanced Dreadlord and of courseKanrethad Prime.
The idea from this kind of midrange deck was influenced by the fun I had with Midrange Paladin in Knight of The Frozen Throne, having an early murloc based early game, and having tools like Tyrion in the late game to stay relevant on board.
EDIT:Vectus is a greed card, not needed whatsoever, however I have addedLoot Hoarder for a little bit more consistency withVectus as a test. I have cut theBonechewer Brawler forSchool Spirits after getting feedback from multiple people that it’s felt fine even in a deck with quite a few early game minions. Do keep note of the fact that you can just play Vectus as a 5 mana 6/6 with 1 or zero deathrattles previously played.
Im going to be trying the “death rattle package” of Enhanced Dreadlord , Vectus, and Loot Hoarder over the weekend. On Monday after a good sample size, I will make the call if it’s better running something else.
I MIGHT CUT THE LOOT HOARDER FOR A Bad Luck Albatross because of the early dominance for Guardian Animals Druid ( the albatrosses are 1/1 BEASTS) and of course it turning off pure synergy.
EDIT: Experimenting with cutting the whole deathrattle package, for Hand of Guldan draw engine. This means anything beyond 5 mana minus the Flesh giants are also being cut for a much higher tempo deck.
I will be updating the deck with the help of your comments and more insight from playing the deck myself.
Currently 37-14 from bronze 10 x10 star bonus to 1100 legend. Looking good!
Hope you guys enjoy!
what do you think now about Jaraxxus ? meta is more controlish imo after first 2 weeks , just asking for an opinion
Or... u give up on this deck already :((
Jaraxxus is risky with malygos druid going around and bomb warrior. It's a free win if you queue against priest tho.
thanks ! yeah Druid is a problem bc Maly , and big minions from GA :///
get diamond 5 in 2-3 hour with this deck, lul
wrong quote, but nwm
Highly recommend Lorewalker Cho, it actually makes people think some early game because they don't want to give you their spells. There are actually a ton of spells used this time around.
I play a similar version, but for how I play it School Spirit is so bad, I usually have fast starts and many minions. I have no problems against minions-aggro cause I have a big board too (just think about the Thrasher), i play Bonechewer (2/3 taunt) instead of looter and usually on turn 5 the 7/8 taunt.
That’s what I was expecting, people are going to have different experiences with school spirits, this is why I am testing the card over the weekend and will decide the better option on Monday.
Don't get me wrong, i like the card, I play it in a control warlock, I just say I dont like it here, many games turn into aggro games by my side.
That's mine, if you want to have a look :)

I'm running a somewhat similar version of this with decent success. I've only had a chance to play for a couple days this season but I'm back into diamond pretty easily and will probably legend with some sort of warlock deck. Vectus is about as dead as it gets for this deck though. It's awesome when it works but honestly you're going to be holding this card for no impact 99% of the time. You'll meme a game with it here and there - maybe.
Diluting your drawing power (running a lot of "one of's" aside from legendaries) only further weakens this deck. Maybe a different story if you're going to slide into a Highlander. I mean I get the ooze but.. I absolutely do not get sense demons in this build. 3 Mana draw 2 cards isn't exactly tempo - considering this deck is built around damaging yourself. I mean Mage - sure. Warlock - nah. One in the hand is worth two in the bush. Why, considering hero power would you use sense demons instead of just adding an additional minion or more useful card? If you're running control or quest with demons then sure.
This was a theory crafted list and sense demons was included in the first build. I cut it halfway through the day yesterday in favour of a second school spirits and will be updating my changes to the deck later today.
Hi, that's a good deck, but Neferset Thrasher just kills you with everything before that card. I swap this with School Spirits, it's can help versus spamming minions + you get soul fragmets.
Good luck to you and thanks for the deck!
btw: sorry for bad english
Thrasher is the most important card in this deck, trust me :)
Is it just me who cant get vectus going? With only 3 deathrattles in the deck it seems far too memey for me :/
It's a greed, fun expansion card. In control matchups you might need the extra value that Vectus brings. Is it a core card? Not at all. (Psst. playing it because I packed it golden!!)
-1 Raise Dead (there is a little chance you will get a card, that you need)
- 2 Flame Imp (-damage to yourself, + bad demons for Kantrethad resurrection)
-1 Sense Demons (i think its a dead card. You have no time to play it in most of the cases)
-1 Neferset Thrasher (good card. You can swap it with school spirits)
-1 Tour Guide (didn't find it useful)
+2 Voodoo Doctor (more heal for your hero)
+2 Potion Vendor (same)
+1 School Spirits (more souls and good aoe against tempo decks like totem shaman)
+1 Brittlebone Destroyer (extra removal vs wars/druids)
I think this one is better version, because you deal a lot of damage to yourself.
Fam, nobody runs voodoo doctor and potion vendor. If it works at your elo then I guess it is what it is.
They synergies well with brittlebone destroyer and flesh giant and increases hp pull. That is my point.
0-4 with this deck at bronze 10. Its pure crap!
Appreciate the reasonless comment!
