Losing to this deck over and over, for some reason HL hunter always topdecks the one card I'm hoping they don't have on hand.
Nagrand Slam isn't overkill, it is often your trusty finisher.
Something is broken with the rng coding for this deck, since HL hunters start with Dwarven Sharpshooter and Imprisoned Felmaw almost every game.
BROKEN.
Currently 20-1 with a similar version.
I feel like the Zixor/Scavenger's package are a bit over rated I would cut that with Evasive wyrm / Alex to fit in the secret package.
bottom line you got lucky with that streak. losing left and right with this deck and yes I know how to play highlander hunter.
If you knew how to play highlander you would know how to react to the daily snapshot of the meta. Highlander requires flexibility and requires you to know what cards to cut and add in order to be successful.
If you are losing "left and right" it sounds like you need to stop blindly netdecking and start thinking for yourself.
This is a great deck for climbing but it is not a golden ticket.
Way too many fatties, to establish a decent Early game (early rounds decide most, if not all games)
Cut Alexstrasza (classic one) and King Krush out, as they are pure overkill.
a Streak is a Streak is a Streak.
The metaphysical Law of Variance applys to any rank, and is best on display in online card games. When a player who INEVITABABLY hits 20-1 after he went poorly the previous days, starts thinking hes became a Pro, and feels like posting his short term 95% Winrate on Hearthpwn then he is certainly a Fool, and I WILL keep laughing at everyone doing that here.
Most basic example: If a noob plays against a "veteran" but draws lucky, then in HS, that basically means the noob wins the game. People PLEASE stop attempting to make this even remotely a SKILL reliant eSports Title, when its NOT. Effective Trades, everyone learns within 2 weeks of playing this, not much else Skill is required in HS, so Card Draw and Grinding many games (until you break even and hit Legend) is everything here.
Sry for the Baby Rant, but just cold hard Truth regarding Card games.
This was my frist thought too: this is way to heavy to be consistant.
About the streak:
Having only 2 Demon Hunter matches would indicate that this was at low ranks. Two weeks back Demon hunter was around 20% of the field in Diamond and Legend, with good reasons.
This deck has no answer for Agggro Demon Hunter in 1 or 2 drops. So yeah, even vs Face Hunter this deck will suffer unless you draw like a god.
Why doesn't anybody ever mention their rank and multiplier? That tells me a lot more than the winrate.
Winrate is bullshit when they play under 20 games.
Any good replacement for Siamat ??
Evasive Wyrm comes close but there is no such flexible card.
This is pretty much a standard non-secret list with two - three cards changed. The secret list seem outdated at the moment, because people play properly around them. Also the non quest version makes Scavengers ingenuity stronger in a two beast version to pull out the 6/6 Zixor Supreme.
But interessting aproach to adress the HL Hunters one nightmare match up Tempo DH with Karthut (If they are not strike you down with Altruis Combo into 3/4 charge). And Drood with King Crush when you can find the window.
Give it a try:).
I hit legend with a similar version of highlander hunter the last 2 seasons. My question is, how do you feel about Negrand Slam? I have never run it as I feel that it is generally too slow against most aggro decks. Often times, my games end with dragon queen alexstraza if not earlier. Do you feel that it is really worth running over a card like acidic swamp ooze or phase stalker with 2 secrets?
Alex/Nagrand/Veranus are pretty clunky for climbing from bronze to D5. I replaced them with a phase stalker, explosive trap and pack tactics. It really smoothed out my early curve against aggro decks.
What about Stormhammer and Corrosive Breath? Aren't there too few dragons in the dack after those changes?
You still have Faerie Dragon, Evasive Feywing, Rotnest Drake, Primordial Explorer and (in some decks) Evasive Wyrm. Should be plenty enough. I've never replaced Veranus though. Pretty good card. Especially synergized with Unleash the Hounds.
Pretty sure I faced this deck this morning in casual while I was dicking around with a Malygos rogue deck. When I won I still had 28 hp. I think he just had shit draw, because he really didn't misplay anything.
By looking at your stats I see you had very lucky games without Druids. One druid and the only loss. I'm at D5 right now, and Druid is my main opponent. There is so many druids right now, and this deck is not prepared for full board at turn 4, 5, 6, 7 etc. There is not too much you can do.
You can throw in a Waste Warden.
