Hey guys

In the past season i've spent hours and hours finding a deck that actually allows Shaman a proper spot in the meta. I've tried aggro overload variants with Vessina and Quest + Cumulo, combo decks with Quest, Doomhammer, Capt. Greenskin and Zephrys - but all of them seemed to be too dependent on a good matchup or too much draw RNG (even though they were a lot of fun to play).

After all this tinkering and quite possibly hundreds of games, I've returned to the highlander variant that has proven to be the most viable for me. In the current meta, this is the deck i've absolutely had the most fun with - as it is so versatile allowing each game to be absolutely different.

Initially I thought Malygos (with all synergies; Licensed AdventurerFrizz Kindleroost, Vashj Prime and Jepetto Joybuzz was going to be the core in pretty much all games ~ but as it turned out there is so much more to experiment with.

This deck can provide an insane amount of value against control matchups. One Frizz battlecry on DQ Alexstrasza and Malygos is insane, a double Frizz battlecry is absolutely nuts. Against Aggro it really holds up quite well due to the amazing invoke ability that Shaman has. In the 47 games I played, 6 of them were against DH and i didn't lose a single one of those  and went 3-3 against Face & Dragon Hunters.

Not to forget how great Bandersmosh can be, turn 5 Dinotamer Brann does actually happen every now and then - and sometimes it's as simple as playing it as a 5/5 Deathwing, Mad Aspect when dealing with a small but wide token board.

Regardless of how you play it, this deck feels refreshing in every single game. To actually make it competitive, it is really important to learn how to pilot this properly. It is extremely important to know what kind of deck you're facing, as well as being able to adapt your strategy based on your card draw. If you happen to draw Malygos early on, without any mana reductions, be more greedy with your damage spells as Malygos will likely not end up being your win condition. This deck is all about adapting to the plays of your opponent and your own card draw, which allows it to be a very diverse gaming experience.

My WR is 59% over 47 games, where I believe the WR could've been higher did I not tilt for several games when i got really unfortunate draws while my Priest opponents would for example hit Malygos when rolling a discovered 'mind games'.

Anyhow, hope you'll have fun with it! <3
