This deck is by far the best Shaman deck I've played since the expansion. High tempo and multiple win conditions.
Win conditions are
Double battlecry Galakrond, the Tempest, Swampqueen Hagatha, Kronx Dragonhoof and Desert Hare Boggspine Knuckles Combo and Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
Mutate - Synergizes well with Corrupt Elementalist and many other cards.
Corrupt the Waters - self explanatory.
Sludge Slurper - Value Generation and quest completion
EVIL Cable Rat Value generation and quest completion + Mutate Synergy.
EVIL Totem - Value generation and Totemic Reflection synergy.
Explosive Evolution - Early game jump up such as Questing Explorer + this = 5 cost minion on turn 3. Also good for late game. Corrupt Elementalist + this - 9 drop.
Hench-Clan Hogsteed - Demon hunter and Paladin counter specifically but also slots in nicely to other plays.
Invocation of Frost - Warrior and Demon hunter counter.
Licensed Adventurer - Coin for double Dragonqueen Alexstrasza or to cancel out overloads.
Novice Engineer - Quest completion and card draw + synergize with Mutate or Explosive Evolution.
Questing Explorer - Quest completion and card draw.
Witch's Brew - Hunter and demon hunter counter. healing.
Zephrys the Great - Tempo, Finisher or board clear. You know what to do.
Desert Hare - Boggspine Knuckles combo turn 5 or 6, also a major distraction. People will pump resources into this if you play it.
Mana Tide Totem - card draw and Totemic Reflection synergy, turn 6 = "two 2-5s that draw a card each turn". VERY GOOD.
Marshspawn - Spell synergy, Quest synergy, Turn one quest, turn two The Coin Marshspawn.
Serpentshrine Portal - Tempo, DH Rouge and warrior and Paladin counter, burn to face.
Totemic Reflection - possible early game ramp. EVIL Totem orMana Tide Totem synergy.
Devoted Maniac - Quest completion, Galakrond Completion, Evolve synergy.
Hoard Pillager- Boggspine Knuckles or galakrond Synergy. NOTE: This is an interchangeable card depending on what your playing against. Horde pillager is great if you know your deck well, But a few recommendations would be, Imprisoned Vilefiend If your encountering lots of Demon hunter, Hex for priest. Druid is a hard one, If you can get your win conditions out before they throw ysera and all the other junk at you its fine. But usually its not the case, So probably a Earthquake.
Sky Gen'ral Kragg - Quest synergy. Very OP card.
Boggspine Knuckles - Win condition Synergy. Hoard Pillager Synergy. Double battlecry Corrupt Elementalist synergy. double battlecry Devoted Maniac Synergy. Desert Hare synergy.
Shield of Galakrond - Galakrond synergy.
Corrupt Elementalist - Galakrond synergy, Can complete full evokes with a double battlecry. Evolve synergy.
Kronx Dragonhoof - Galakrond synergy, quest synergy. Win condition if you've played galakrond before you've completed the quest. Double 8-8 dragons with taunt.
The Lurker Below - Demon hunter, paladin, warrior and rogue counter. Or just in general. Great card.
Galakrond, the Tempest - Win condition. Double battlecry is insane. Don't be afraid to pop him off even if you've only invoked twice against aggro decks. Use him to also complete the quest. Shaman has insane late game so it doesn't matter if you lose one win condition. Its a fine balance to get the most out of your win conditions. like Swampqueen Hagatha or Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. You generally want to play him last, after you've received maximum value our of your other win conditions.
Swampqueen Hagatha - Win condition. Dragons pack, eye of the storm with vivid spores. these are you best bets. You can also aim for burst damage. Multiple lava bursts or serpentine portals to face. Bloodlust if you can a wide board.
Walking Fountain - Healing and just an insane card in general.
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza - Win condition, Double battlecry with a coin for 4 free dragons. make sure your hands got enough space prior.
EDIT : The best opening play by far is Turn 1 Corrupt the Waters Turn 2 The Coin and Marshspawn and Turn 3 Explosive Evolution. That's a six drop on turn 3, or 7 drop if you have mutate aswell. The Beast on turn 3 anyone? haha
EDIT 01/07/2020
Playing around today and have swapped a card.
I still like Hoard Pillager, but I'm encountering an insane amount of demon hunters on ladder right now, so I want more rush early game if possible. He fits the bill. I really wish Shaman had a 3 mana rush card!
Busy this week, but send me your id, I can guide you through the deck in a couple days from now if you want.
Not really viable nor reliable.
Not sure why you say its not viable nor reliable. Its stated for climbing bronze 10 - diamond 10. Which it does very easily. Its weakness is Druid. So it does drop off after diamond 10 due to the massive influx of Druids unfortunatley. I find it quite reliable, if you know the deck well.
Any Tier 1 or Tier 2 deck will take you to Diamond 5 easily, and most of them don't cost 14.7k dust.
Well then, if ive made a tier 2 Shaman deck then i would consider this a complete success.
Not everyone can get to diamond 'easily', there are players out there that would like help and would love to get to diamond 5.
Well, as shaman stands, it isn't in the best position.... so dust needs to be spent to get it up to scratch.
Thanks for injecting a nice healthy dose of narrow minded negativity into the thread! :D
You completely missunderstood what I was trying to say. My point was: why would anyone spend 14.7k dust on a deck that struggles to reach Diamond 5, a month away from new expansion? Players struggling to reach Diamond 10 either don't know the game well enough yet or lack cards and/or dust to craft a deck that can take them there. So, basically we are talking about casual and new(er) players, and majority of those won't be able to afford to craft this. And why would anyone want to craft it when you can craft any deck for that much dust, unless you strictly want to play Shaman only?
Anyways, looking forward to see how you do with this deck in next few days.
Its shaman, it can get you to diamond 10 very easily, thats the point of this deck.
Why would anyone spend 14.7k dust on a deck, ok. Shaman is in a bad spot right now, its very difficult to climb, getting to diamond 5 with shaman right now is a task in itself, this could help fellow shaman players rank up. Or Because they have the dust, already have the cards, a Shaman enthusiast like myself or maybe they like off-meta decks.
Im apart of a shaman only Fb group and a lot of people are happy with this deck, because they are seriously struggling to rank up with shaman right now. They are happy to sit at D10 while the month finishes off. Because most couldnt even reach diamond 10 with shaman before the last buffs.
I never said it can go to diamond 5 or legend. The price of the deck is visible and the results are fair and truthful. I don't see why this is a problem. The deck is true to its words. It does not deceit people into wasting dust, so there's nothing wrong with it. If i wrote B10-LEGEND then that would be completely miss leading and i could understand your view.
I do understand what your saying, don't get me wrong. But i feel you have sort of missed the point of the deck. I make decks for fun, and i think this is a standout shaman deck right now. It has a couple upvotes, so it must be working for a couple of people, perhaps in the categories i mentioned above?
Unfortunately i wont be able to climb anymore this month. I finished at diamond 8 with the deck.
Thanks for replying in a rational way by the way, i respect that. Cheers mate!
Nice take on quest, I like the multiple angles
