Many of the old Heroic Scarvash decks rely on outdated AI. The cheap ones I could find didn't work anymore, and the modern ones were too expensive. So I made one myself.

This is not a high winrate deck, it will take a few hours or days of restarting, but it is possible to win. After an entire night of trying dozens of different netdecks and experimenting with this one, I optimized it and got it in an hour or two.

Guide

Mulligan for Doomsayer. Restart on turn 3 if:

  • You don't get Doomsayer by your turn 2
  • Scarvash doesn't use Confuse on his turn 2
  • You have no way of quickly dealing with the board in hand

The best case scenario is Doomsayer goes off, but that's extremely unlikely. Instead he will ideally use Confuse to kill it, and you can kill the Burly Rockjaw Trogg with Frostbolt or Forgotten Torch. The Stonesplinter Trogg is easier to deal with from there.

If you manage to pass the early stage and deal with the troggs, it's just a matter of drawing what you need to clear the board. Hope you get Antique Healbot quickly or you're likely to die to spells. Eventually he'll start top decking and you can usually control the board down to fatigue and finish him off either with fatigue damage or with your Roaring Torches.

Card Choices/Alternatives

The concept of this deck is hyper-control/freeze with a few decent minions that can stall, are "sticky", and trade well.

If you don't have all of the spells, you can replace them with good or better alternatives. Two Frostbolts, Fireballs, and Forgotten Torches are a must but the rest can pretty well be replaced if you have different cards.

2 Doomsayers are necessary as it baits out early Confuse. Use the second alongside a freeze minion to clear the board later.

Mirror Image is susceptible to Confuse, so Annoy-o-Tron or anything low-cost with Reborn/extra summons/divine shield would be better.

Loot Hoarder and Azure Drake are there for card draw + minions. All mana in your spellcasting turns will be spent on controlling the board, so Arcane Intellect is just wasting space in your hand. These can be replaced with any minions that draw a card. Don't use Coldlight Oracle as you want Scarvash to be top decking.

Cursed Disciple and Khartut Defender trade well and stick to the board. Similar high-damage, low-health reborn/summon a copy/divine shield minions will also do the trick.
