HEMET-RENO MECHA'THUN

UPDATED: 2 JULY 2020

This deck now has a Vanish and a Preparation card to help you survive by clearing dangerous enemy boards and to be able to play cards more efficiently providing extra mana for playing spells. Reno Jackson and Vanish can now both be played at turn 10, providing a full heal and a board clear.

Please provide a link to this deck if creating any decks based off of this one. Thanks!

STRATEGY / TACTICS:

Each turn you have cards either to draw more cards, or to clear the board. Other than those, there are only key cards that remain after you use Hemet, Jungle Hunter and are important for the win.

The win condition is to simply have Mecha'thun killed while you have no more cards left in deck or in hand. Play smart and you will always have moves - its possible to reach the highest ladder score!

WINNING: Play Anka, the Buried to make Mecha'thun and Ticking Abomination 1-health and cost 1-mana. Use Backstab, Eviscerate, Shiv or Shadow Strike on the Ticking Abomination to clear your side of the board, even if the opponent is immune!

CARDS:

DRAWING: Bloodmage Thalnos, Loot Hoarder, Novice Engineer, Shiv, Dirty Tricks, and Elven Minstrel;

DEFENDING: Backstab, Serrated Tooth, Eviscerate, Shiv, Shadow Strike, Reno Jackson, Evasion and Vanish;

BURNING DECK: Hemet, Jungle Hunter will leave you with only the key cards - Ticking Abomination, Anka, the Buried, Reno Jackson, Mecha'thun and Elven Minstrel;

FAIL CONDITIONS:

You can not win if Mecha'thun gets burnt. If Anka, the Buried gets burned you probably could not pull the kill combination off, because it would be hard for you to play a 10-cost minion and deal 10 damage to it all at once. Watch the cards and do not overflow. If you use Vanish at the wrong timing you will pull your minions back to your hand and may lose to fatigue or waste a vital turn.

CORRECT TIMING: Do not use Hemet, Jungle Hunter if you have nothing to kill Mecha'thun with - Serrated Tooth can be used for this against the opponent's minions. Use cards that are x2 copies to activate Reno Jackson.

BEST OPENING HAND:

Always keep Hemet, Jungle Hunter if dealt. Also keep any draw mechanics cards. Never keep other cards of 5 or more mana - they will be useless until later. Keep Counterfeit Coin only if dealt Hemet, Jungle Hunter or Elven Minstrel.

REPLACEMENTS:

Do not replace Reno Jackson if you want to stay alive, however because of him you in fact will need an extra turn finish, but if you have an extra damage card to make his health 5 or less you will not need to spend an extra turn. Evasion quite often saves life. Do not replace Serrated Tooth, it is very much needed, you only have to use your rogue hero power to give your minions rush. Ticking Abomination helps clear all 5-health minions from your side of the board, so its a key card.

GAMEPLAY VIDEO:

In this gameplay Bad Luck Albatross has slowed down the finisher, but shows he strategy.
