Intro:
Hey everyone! My name is Funki Monki and all I do is create meta breaking (hopefully) off meta decks! Today I'm bringing you a community favorite - Libram Paladin! I've seen this deck being played in so many different ways, but nothing seems to be working for people so I went back to the drawing board and refined and refined the archetype until I ended up with this list! This list has brought me to Diamond 6 with a 62% WR (and then I started meme-ing with other decks).
Proof:
A few points I wanted to mention while building/playing this archetype:
- going Pure Paladin is not good simply because you lose out on too many good neutrals like Wild Pyromancer, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Novice Engineer and your win conditions of Exotic Mountseller and Replicat-o-tron. Pure Paladin doesn't have enough win conditions without these.
- Cycling cards are crucial, like Novice Engineer, Hand of A'dal, Call to Adventure. Because this deck is very combo oriented (need to draw BOTH your librams AND your discounters, your board clears are 2+ card combos of Libram of Justice and Consecration/Wild Pyromancer) you need to be able to draw your combo pieces.
- This deck has insane late game value with Librams so lots of healing is a must. In here we have the Wild Pyromancer + Lightforged Blessing combo.
- Be VERY sparing with your board clears and only use them when absolutely necessary. There is TONS of healing in this deck so take a few hits to the face and make your opponent over commit. Your hard board clear of Libram of Justice + Wild Pyromancer or Consecration is hard to come by and probably won't draw that 2 card combo again for awhile.
Mulligan:
Always Keep - Aldor Attendant, Hand of A'dal, Libram of Wisdom, Novice Engineer, Wild Pyromancer, Bronze Explorer, Call to Adventure
Sometimes Keep - Acidic Swamp Ooze (against DH, Hunter, Warrior, Rogue), Lightforged Blessing (against DH, Hunter, Warrior), Consecration (against DH)
I hope you like this deck and, as always, if you have any questions or have a suggestion please comment below (I respond to all comments)!

Hey iam enjoying your streams. I am a paladin onetrick since naxx. tried to make diffrent libram builds work too since last expansion(quest, pure, dragon, highlander) your list looks solid. I had maeiev in my list the first few days but Frozen Shadow weaver just feels better at every point(Can freeze face good in the current meta with all thoose Warriors and dh), and can be played a turn more early. Also what are your thaughts about Vulpera Scoundrel for discovering more libram cards. I run her as a one of. The main issue she is not that amazing is because there a re to much paladin spells that are not good.
Libram is a tricky archetype to tackle for sure! Frozen Shadoweaver is a solid card as well, I like Maiev Shadowsong because it's a bit more versatile as a pseudo silence like against deathrattles, or could make one of your own minions go dormant to avoid board clears. I don't think the extra mana at 4 hurts too much since we'll have more turn 3 plays with this new version.
I've also tried Vulpera Scoundrel, but like you said there's just too many garbage Paladin spells currently lol.
I like your ideas, and great to see another Paladin deckbuilder/experimenter! :)
Also have you tried vargoth? Droping him on an empty board agaisnt slower decks with hand of adal measn creating a threatening board and drawing 2 cards. And biggest point of running him is vargoth into libram of hope what feels like what is hardto answer for most of the meta decks when you can get to the point. Also turn 7 vargoth into Call to adventure is sweet. I run him in most of the libram lists i tried.
He's not bad but VERY situational. Like you mentioned, not only do you have to have Archmage Vargoth, AND a buff spell but ALSO your opponents board must be empty. All that coming together is pretty rare. As far as combo'ing him in the late game, we already have more consistent late game threats with Exotic Mountseller, Libram of Hope, Replicat-o-tron, etc that we don't necessarily need an extra 8/8 (as good as that sounds lol).
Great question!
Did anybody try Recurring Villain in this type of deck? I think it could fit.
Yes hes alright but i cut him at some point i think he needs taunt to be viable in this deck.
He was actually in a previous version! I tested Recurring Villain and Blistering Rot but found them to be too slow against aggressive decks and not enough attack to pressure control decks. Without any immediate board impact like taunt/rush/etc and requiring you to have other combo cards for them to be good I ultimately cut them. They made for some fun combos tho! lol
Replicatotron Replacement?
Really cool deck my dude!
Thanks! :D Lets make Paladin great again!
I always watch your videos, you are good making off meta decks, I made a highlander shaman with the new buffs, I think highlander Shaman can be viable with the buffs. What do you think?
Eyy! Glad to hear, and thank you!!
I've always loved Highlander Shaman and think it is very underrated! I think Highlander Shaman can be much better after the buffs, not only because some cards will get buffed like The Lurker Below, and Torrent but because its weakest matchups are receiving nerfs.
