I Finally made a shaman deck i could hit legend with in this meta, which as all of you probably know already is not easy. I have tried all other types of shaman decks and found all to have too many holes to be reliable.
This deck is pretty well balanced and with good early draw can beat just about any deck (though i do find thief priest and rogue to be the toughest match up). Please try an let me know how it works for you guys thanks.
Mulligans
vs aggro hold any of these cards Sludge Slurper,Invocation of Frost,Hagatha's Scheme,Devoted Maniac and Serpentshrine Portal. Totemic Reflection is also a possible hold depending on if you have coin.
vs control (basically any Priest deck) hold Sludge Slurper, Totemic Reflection, EVIL Totem, Hagatha's Scheme, Marshspawn, Hex, The Fist of Ra-den, Plague of Murlocs, and Devoted Maniac
If you are having problems with wide boards you may want to consider replacing 1 Totemic Reflection for a Hagatha's Scheme. If any would like to give some input to what is better please do. I am still experimenting with it.
I have tested this deck live on Twitch and have to say that it is a lot of fun and you can even win with it.
Here's a little highlight video. Attention, its completely in german ;-)
Hi thanks for playing the deck, you did well and i think you would have won that fourth and final game if you would hit the demon hunter in the face with the Frost Shock. It was well played none the less.
Thank you for the deck showcase. Here's a link to the actual twitch stream https://www.twitch.tv/videos/612193667. This deck plays at the 1:46 mark.
Here's the video of the game against the demon hunter. You're probably right about the Frost Shock. Thanks again for this great decklist.
I've played several different decks in the 5 days of this month... and I'm enjoying this Sham deck. I don't usually play Shaman, but I need 180 wins to get to my 1k shaman... and this is good and fun. Thanks!
(I'm at D8 for now)
Glad you like it, good luck.
I'm using this deck to lower my MMR before Legend push, it's working like a champ I'm 0-8
I'm at D5 currently Legend last month and previous months.
DH x 3
Druid x 1
Paladin x 2
Rogue x 1
Mage x 1
0-8 so far it almost has potential but either it fizzles out or just gets rushed down before you can get your counter cards.
wow and thats your one and only post? just switched from tempo DH or facehunter right?
Very bad deck. Legend ? Lol.
Not exactly sure if you're trolling or just doing something wrong, but it definitely isn't a bad deck. This is the best deck I've used this expansion. (I don't play rogue or demon hunter) ESPECIALLY for shaman.
What could be worth for replacing Dragon's Pack ? Feral Spirit by default ? or something else ?
A general replacement for any 1-2 cards missing can also always be just a card draw (Far Sight, Novice Engineer , ...) for quicker access to core cards
Not a bad idea, also I was considering a second evil totem, I don't understand why you just put 1 into this deck.
The Lurker Below × 1
any replacement ?
Someone else on this thread recommended Waste Warden and i agree it would be good but other choices would be a second Hagatha's Scheme or a second Earthquake. The reason i like The Lurker Below is that after a possible board clear you have a high attack minion on board that your opponent has to deal with. But otherwise those other options can work. Good luck
Thank you for sharing, I d like to try this, I only miss dragon pack and plague... How is it doing against warrior?
I have a 60+ wining pct vs them. One of the better match ups, just keep the taunts up with them and a Walking Fountain in your back pocket. Pls up vote if you like the deck thanks.
Go fucking figure I face nothing but other control decks when I queue up with this deck. Haven't played many games yet, but I'm currently winless. If I switch back to my highlander hunter, I guarantee I will queue into 3 demon hunters in a row. Then a rogue. I swear the shit is rigged sometimes.
The opponent queuing does seem a little fishy sometimes. But anyways wins against other control decks will come. Rogue and priest definitely most difficult match ups.
Even the losses against mage and priest were not boring though. The only DH I've faced yet was a control style highlander, lol. Lost that one. Had a 30 minute match against a rogue that I won as well. I've faced some aggro now and the deck performs well. Even against a highlander hunter, which being one of my top decks, I know can be played fast or slow depending on match up, I was able to pull out the win.
Question - being a control deck, there are turns where the right play is to not play much of anything, or not use all your mana. I've had numerous turns where I left 4 mana unused. Given that and the abundance of battlecry minions and lackey generation, have you given any thought to throwing the quest in there? Those turns where you would have leftover mana present opportunities to double battlecries if the quest is included. Not sure what I would drop to fit it in though. Honestly, I think it runs a few too many singles. Scheme is such a great spell, and I'm not getting it in hand early enough b/c there is only one copy. Have only drawn mana tide once...b/c there is only one copy. I might drop a totemic reflection for second scheme. With corrupt elementalist, there are also 10 invokes in the deck, so an argument could be made for dropping shield of galakrond. then the second mana tide could be added, and the quest. Gonna think about this. With demons, pirates beasts and treants galore in the meta, I also think the waste warden suggestion someone else made is viable.
edit: just hit gold 5 so I may take the rank floor opportunity to tweak it and test the quest. I am second guessing dropping any invoke cards, so I cut the marshspawn for the second scheme, and I'm leaning toward cutting the EVIL totem and maybe even plague of murlocs. Plague is best against priest, which is running Galakrond now and tainting its own rez pool, and is already the deck's worst match-up. I've also found that when the opportunity to play plague comes along, my board is usually empty or just a few minions, so all it really does is slow my opponent down a hair (whereas a second scheme would clear their board and synergizes better with fist).
