There were two famous Libram Paladin decks. Libram Pure Paladin and Libram Wild Pyro style deck.
As a lover of old control heal mindrange Paladin i tried almost 10 different version of both of these deck on 200+ matches. And here is what i thought.
1.Libram Paladin
Strategy of Libram Paladin is control the board and heal your face until you get able to do huge swing turn with Exotic Mountseller and Lady Liadrin. But it just feels really dry and passive until that one turn. Having 2 or 3 board clears are not enough to keep you alive in current meta that every class are able to fill the board for threathing minion in 2 or 3 turn at least. Lacks of bodies on board and doesnt really have early plays. Allows your opponent to do swing turns by being passive.
2. Pure Paladin
First of all only reason to this deck exist is just 2 Lightforged card and they can get destroyed by Albatross really easily. Before rotation Pure Paladin was more into Aggro Token style but without many mechs and Crystology it basically ruined. Main philosophy of Pure Paladin is throwing awkward to trade minions and carefully deal a small amount of damage in every turn keep try to set up a lethal. Most of the time this kind of decks runs of a fuel before lethal. But this deck has capability of keep going because of Lightforged crusader. Drop a 7/7 get a 5 cards and keep going. I figured this card got better after rotation because soo many bad Paladin cards from Witchwood and Rastakhan are gone. Still this deck cant afford aggro plays of current meta and still run of a cards too quick.
3. Dragon Libram Paladin (I think i made this deck based on libram pure version of early release days, maybe there is someone better than me made a similar deck)
I hit a Legend with this deck had a 67% winrate and in a Legend im getting 61% winrate. By adding Dragon package including Talritha helps on problem of having body on board to contest. And can give a good pressure on control decks. Basically keep throwing Talritha buffed big cheap Dragons and value trade with Libram of Wisdom. This deck can crush Aggro decks with tons of Healing and can outlast even resurrect Priest. Main problem is still not enough card draws.
If you are Paladin fan you can try this deck and take little bit break from Murloc Madness.
Cheers.
O/3 in unranked, vs Tempo DH, Spelldruid and Highlanderhunter
I recommend, it's fun to play
Neat idea but it's garbage vs anything good. Infinitely too passive and underpowered
I played something like this deck but vs Priest it's just auto lose silence breaks this archetype so hard.
also late game decks can just outlast you as you are not a threat early game and then you run out of threats later while they have Galakrond, big minions, etc.
Thanks to your deck I rushed Diamond 10 to 5 very quickly, around 70% winrate. I feel like Midrange and Control when I play it, nice build!
Very interesting, thanks for the deck. working in low legend (30k - 20k)
You hit Legend with it where is the proof?
Fun deck, thanks!
I think I just broke Illidan's will.
Turn 2, coin Dragonrider Talritha. Buff lands on Bronze Explorer, play it, discover a new Bronze Explorer.
Watch him think really hard and see him trade. Slam a new 5-6 Bronze Explorer on the board. Discover a new Bronze Explorer.
He thinks really hard again and this time ignores it. Easy trade and play Amber Watcher.
Win vs illidan with 30 life, easy.
Swap Evasive Feywing for Fizz Kindleroost.
Both are 5/4s for 4 mana, but Fizz improves the whole deck and you can not target the Feywing with your librams of wisdom, which hurts you more than it helps.
I'm 3/0 so far.
Update, 7/2 so far. It feels pretty solid.
I started to play Dragon Libram Paladin a few days after the start of the expansion and got to rank 3. Couldn't get to legend with the deck at that time so I switched to my midrange priest and didn't try the Dragon Paladin again. My deck is a little different though, i used the (unnerved) Kael'thas Sunstrider together with lay on hands and some extra cheap spells off Cobalt Spellkin.
Some cards you use I tried too. Bronze Herald was too slow at that time and Evasive Feywing a little awkward because you can't use your spells on it. But I get why you use it, many good 5 dragon drops but no 4. And it's nice if it's been buffed by Talritha. Still rather use Faerie Dragon.
I guess i should try this deck again now, it was fun to play!
This is my version: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/14856-dragon-libram
Went 1-6 with this deck at D5. Maybe I'm just playing it wrong, but every opponent of mine has a silence card or zephrys to clear me out and get rid of my synergies. Any tips?
L vs Highlander mage
L vs Secret Stealth Rogue
L vs Battlecry Evolve Shaman
After losing against these archetypes I declare the deck not viable and move on
Maybe you're playing this deck wrong, or just bad luck. 3 games don't make a good\bad deck. I'm 4-0 at 9k legend against H. mage, demon hunter, dragon hunter and resu priest. I think this is a good midrange deck that can apply a lot of pressure. I made some changes to this list, but still is a great idea. Is this a top tier deck? nop.
Care to share a decklist? I've also been struggling w/ spell druid. Despite the deck's board clear it's just not enough for how much druid dishes out.
welcome to the meta. Delay delay delay until late game, or be so aggro you can win in 4 turns. Mid range decks are dead. same reason Libram paladin turns out to suck this meta.
Deck is very interesting. I especially like synergy between some cards. Just out played to fatigue resurrect Priest. I guess he got frustrated. was 20 mins game :D
