Hello!

First things first I want to warn you, that this is a meme deck. It means that it runs a lot of tech cards and is not viable to climb on the ladder. I wanted to try this since the beginning of AoO, but ultimately could work on this only yesterday, when I finally hit legend and stopped caring about winning or losing games. Surprisingly I am currently 6-3 with this form of the deck. I will write a guide here and tell you about the process of creating this super fun-to-play deck.

Matchups:

  • Demon Hunter - You can't win, because he will kill you before you even complete your quest. Generally a very hard matchup, especially when your opponent gets a lot of early pressure in his starting hand. I'll not write much about this matchup, as I have only played two games against it and both were lost before turn 5.
  •  Resurrect Priest - This is my favorite matchup, because control vs control is always a lot of fun. Generally, you should be able to win against Res Priest, as you have a lot more value than him. Against this class I am currently 3-0.
  • Face Hunter/Tempo Hunter - Both face and the new Tempo/Boar Hunter are hard matchups, but not nearly as bad as DH. You can deal with their early minions with Wrath or BEEEES!!! and if you survive long enough to complete your quest, you would love to heal yourself with Hidden Oasis. I am currently 1-1 against this matchup.
  • Spell Mage - This one game was fun as hell, as Spell Mage brings a lot of randomness to the game. You will easily complete your quest here and then have a nice duel with your opponent. The one who clears better wins! 1-0 against this matchup.
  • Hybrid Warrior - (it's one of manny names for the Egg/Bomb/Tempo/Pirate Warrior) It's a matchup where you will win, if you manage to complete your quest. I am currently 1-1 here, as in one game the opponent played a bit more slowly, whereas in the second one the enemy played Injured Tol'virInner RageRampageBloodsworn Mercenary and there was not much I could have done.

Why these cards?

  • Imprisoned Satyr - it's a tech card, but if you manage to hit Ysiel Windsinger with it's effect, you will be in heaven. Also hitting many other minions with it is nice. For example Oasis Surger with Ossirian Tear, will give you 2 5/5s with rush for 0 mana. Hitting cards like Elise the EnlightenedDragonqueen Alexstrasza or Zephrys the Great gives you tons of value.
  • Keeper of the Grove - there are many 2 health minions that you would want to deal with, and also Silence effect is very usefull in the current meta, with all the Priests running around with their Convincing Infiltrator and Psychopomp.
  • Ysiel Windsinger - I simply got her from a pack and wanted to fit her in, but she turned out to be a very  powerful inclusion. Surprisingly by turn 10 your opponent will usually run out of cards to kill her and she often sticks on board for a few turns, giving you so much value that in this deck I would call her a core card.
  • Grizzled Wizard - this card is like a definition of a tech card, but you can use it pretty efficiectly after completing your quest, because you will just give your opponent a hero power, that does nothing for him, and you will be able to use his hero power for extra healing, armor or whatever your opponent plays. Generally, it's a card, which you can easily exclude, if you don't have it or simply don't want to run it.
  • Harrison Jones - initially I did not include him in the deck, but after a few games I realised, that he is much better than Acidic Swamp Ooze, which I have been using before. I tought that he would be too slow, but as you already play control, you can sacrifice some tempo for card draw.
  • Infectious Sporeling - This card is nuts against Resurrect Priest. It stops them from playing minons and counters the ones he plays. Also, whatever you hit with it, doesn't die, but simply turns into Infectious Sporeling, so instead of Resurrecting a nice minion, your opponent will have Infectious Sporeling in his "dead minions" pool.

Why wouldn't I include .... ?

  • Crystal Merchant - I think this card is just a waste of value in this deck. You already have enough card draw and value generating and drawing Crystal Merchant later in the game is just awkward.
  • Ysera, Unleashed - She is very usefull and I initially included her in the deck, but after a few games I started feeling that she is not good. First of all, she destroys the "no-duplicate rule", so you would only like to play her after playing all of the Highlander stuff. Usually Ysera will just sit in your hand doing nothing for the whole game, that's why I excluded her.
  • Archspore Msshi'fn - He is a great card, I just don't have him. If you own him, I would suggest putting him in the deck.
  • Druid of the Claw - I simply think there are better options than him, but if you feel the need to add more tempo to your deck, feel free to add it.
  • Cenarius - Similiar story to Ysera, Unleashed. He will sit in your hand for a long time, as he requires you to have some minions on board in order to buff them. Sure you can play him, but I think there are better options.

Well I think I described everything nicely. If you have more questions as to some replacements or anything elese, feel free to ask in the comments. Good luck!

Edit no.1: Replaced Overflow for Marsh HydraOverflow turned out to be useless, because with all the value generating you already have, drawing 5 cards is not good at all. I used it before, since it's a nice option in case you have really bad draw, but apart from the overall uselessness of the card, it turned out that in most cases you can't use it, because wasting 7 mana and doing nothing more is a suicide in this meta. Thus, I decided to add Marsh Hydra instead. It generates value (that's what you like to do) and also gives you a bit of tempo, which Overflow is lacking.
