This is deck with whome i manage to get into legend.
I started with rank 2 and had ups and downs, while constantly updating deck based on meta. With this latest version of the deck i got from rank 3 (1 star), to the legend with 9-0 score. This morning i played 2 more games in legend and won them both.
Meta in wild is currently aggro with secret mage, even shaman, odd dh, pirate warrior. There are also other Highlander Priests, as well as Cubelocks.
Thanks to nerf, aggro decks got one turn which is enough to crush Ginat Quest Mage (which is worst matchup of Highlander Priest). Without Giant Quest Mage on the throne, aggro decks are everywhere, which makes them perfect target for 101 clear of Priest. If trend like this continue, Highlander Priest will be at the top of tier one (we will see).
Another good buff for Highlander Priest was nerf of Bad Luck Albatross. Now they can't be played in Odd Demon Hunter and Cubelocks are in dilemma is it worth even keeping it in deck at all.
Worst matchup by far is Giant Quest Mage. I managed to win against one in Legend this morning (however that guys was bad), against good player. You will have very low chances.
Best matchup is Even Shaman by far. I think that with Priest i didn't lose single game against any kind of Shaman this month. Basically i have 100% winrate against them. With so much board clears in the deck and with few heals, it is very hard for them to develop any kind of threatening board.
Mirrors are kinda luck based. It is who will first draw Raza, DK and Spawn of Shadows. This version of the deck doesn't use Loot Hoarder (for better draw) or Dragonite Operative (if you want to take copy of opponents key card), however it does use Seance. Which us very good card, far better than Zola.
In mirror you can steal Raza if you can't find it, In aggro you can copy Zilliax or Reno. In control you can copy any value card or if opponent a lot of armor you can go twice in with Spawn of Shadows (lower his armor/hp with first one and finish him with second one next turn).
what is the use for maiev in this deck? im running almost the same list but with velen for consistent damage bursts currently moving in the 200-400 legend and its great but sometimes aggro destroys me
Out of all cards, Maev is first target for swap based on meta. When i played with this deck, there was a lot of aggro and first Priest board clear is on turn 5. (Maybe turn 4 with coin). That is why when they in early game develop some good minion (like mech buffs, Edwin etc) i would dorment him on turn 4 and leave him there for 2 turns. When he awakes for me it would be already turn 6 or 7, ready to get cleared with some of aoe spells.
Another use is as set up. This morning i played and lost against Odd warrior. Dude had 30 hp and 50 armor. I managed to get him on 5 hp, however i didn't have low cost cards for finishing blow. What i did was Spawn of Shadows, dealing some damage and Maev on Spawn of Shadows. Two turns later i had 10 mana and did combo second time plus Seance on Spawn of Shadows. Third time i tried to finish him, however dude had just too much stats for me.
This feels so much comfortable to play with instead of the deck of Hijo. having a lot of answers feels really nice against aggro
