I know Res Priest is cleaning up shop, but I'm tired of Res Priest. Priest is one of the few classes with only one viable archetype.

This expansion I've been doing some exploring! I wanted to make a dragon priest deck with the new synergies and I've been testing this current build on latter. It's interesting matching up against all the new crazy decks, but i still manage to come out on top. It has a tasteful amount of value and good board control, but if you stall out a game too much your opponent can out control you.

This deck has an early zoo style presence. Reliquary of SoulsDragonmaw Sentinel, Scalerider, and Twilight Drake are great early game cards that will help you take the board and push for face damage.

The true skill come in Midrange! Dragonmaw Sky Stalker works surprisingly well. It was given a lot of low ratings by critics, but it synergizes with Priest buffs very well. It's great for trading and going face. It also sticks to the board.

Late Game: Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. Try to board clear.

Staying Alive!

The best thing about this deck is that it can play midrange and stay alive. I have been thrashing Demon Hunters with this deck because the burst heal is insane and reliable. Apotheosis makes any lingering minion a healing powerhouse. It is the essence to surviving the leap from Midrange to Late Game, should the match take that long. It also helps you bounce back from aggro. Renew: I mostly use it for my hero, but it is also good to use on minions.

Match-ups So far:

I've done well against:

  • Demon Hunter (All archetypes)
  • All Paladin
  • Zoo Lock (Galakrond)
  • Face Hunter
  • Dragon Hunter
  • Highlander Hunter
  • Highlander Mage
  • All Spells Mage
  • Quest Druid

I've done Poorly Against:

  • Control Priest (Res + all those other meme deck variations)
  • Highlander Warlock

NOTE: This deck doesn't run any of the "Evasive" neutral dragons because they can't be targeted by spells. Which makes them really difficult to buff.

Update:

I added Sethekk Veilweaver it really improved my winrate against control.
