*Update*: I was planning on continuing the climb past legend, but I'm really burnt out with HS overall, so don't expect news any time soon.

Introduction

This was originally a Taunt deck with with a Galakrond twist, but after tons of testing I couldn't make it work, so I decided it was better to go for a Galakrond deck with a small taunt package instead.

I'm aware I haven't invented Galakrond taunt warrior, but the few lists I've seen around don't convince me. To be honest, I'm not sure if this package is better than throwing in Kor'kron Elites and some other stuff, but I'm quite happy with it so far.

Card explanation

Basically, after my initial failed attempt, I took the old Galakrond warrior list and replaced some cards. Because we were losing card draw (Town Crier and Acolyte of Pain), I figured we needed a higher curve, which is why I've added more late game power in the form of Armagedillo and Tomb Warden.

Other than that:

  • I don't run enough taunts to make Into the Fray worth it. As I mentioned in the introduction, I already tested a version with it and more taunts, but I didn't like it as much.
  • I think Imprisoned Gan'arg is a bit redundant with the invokes, it's not that great later in the game and sucks to pull it from galakrond.
  • Kargath Bladefist is ok, but not impressive. I prefer Restless Mummy so far.
  • I'm not a big fan of Scrap Golem, I think it doesn't do enough (compared to Shield of Galakrond for example) and there's nothing I would like to cut to make room for it.
  • I tried Deathwing, Mad Aspect and it didn't convince me. It's good if you're behind with no board presence, but most of the time that's not the case.

Replacements: ask in the comments if you're missing some card and I'll try to come up with something.

Guide

Coming soon

Before I forget: if your hero is frozen but then you transform into Galakrond, you will no longer be frozen. This is very important against mage.

Stats

I started playing this deck at Diamond 5 and I just hit Legend with it. It's my fastest climb yet, just 3.2 hours according to my deck tracker. I'll try to keep this updated.

I expect the winrate to drop to ~60% once I play a more substantial amount of games.
