The main goal of this deck is to draw a bunch of discounted burst spells with Vashj Prime to kill the opponent with them pumped by Malygos. In best case scenario we draw six burst spells all of which are obviously zero mana now. Next turn we drop Malygos and 30-0 our opponent. That is why the deck uses quest shell. It is very efficient in board control and later double battlecry of Vashj Prime will draw us everything we need to close up the game. Often enough even Malygos won't be needed, Vashj's spell damage will be enough.
Random thought, what about Ancient Mage instead of Malygos? I feel like it would be way more versatile. I'm not an expert but just seems like there are dozens of reasons that it would be easier to pull off lethals. The main one of course being to still get lots of value out of your cheap spells in case you aren't able to zero-cost them. Or what about Ethereal Augmerchant? Seems like it would fit real nice even in your current deck for some extra wiggle room. Oh, or why not both? You could potentially get 9+ spell damage on your turn for less mana than Malygos, worst case you'd have lots of ways to get nearly 5 spell damage for cheap.
Anyway like I said I'm not an expert, just thinking out loud in case it somehow ends up being a good idea. What are your thoughts?
Edit: Dormant mechanics would go real well with these options too yeah? Set up for a OTK?
For me this card worked best Squallhunter, you can deal alot of damage and you can place Squallhunter in the same turn.
How is it working vs that bloody DH?
Better than I feared, worse than I hoped. Mostly it's about lack of heal, sometimes Walking Fountains are coming too late to save the game. I am considering adding Witch's Brew.
It actually looks like solid deck ( I am biased towards shamans though xD )
Just 1 eustion, any good replacment for The Lurker Below I just do not want to spend 1600 dust on it...
I suggest you either add a small boardclear like Lightning Storm or Waste Warden which is very good at the moment and pairs amazingly with the double battecry.
Thx, will try.
What is current state of this deck, are you more then 50% winnrate or?
Believe it or not, but at the moment it is exactly 50% :D Over 22 games. The worst matchup so far is DH (how surprising), and at the moment I'm testing several versions of the deck, I found some flexible spots and sprinkled in a few very fitting cards. I want to test it more for a day or two and then I'm going to update the list here.
Looking forward for info man! :-D
Have you made any updates to the deck? It looks cool
