Hey everyone,

I know the timing for releasing this decklist isn't great given that a new expansion is about to be released, but the archetype should still be viable in the upcoming meta given the strength and simplicity of the win condition.

In any case, here is my take on a slight variant for face hunter on a budget. I recently made a new account and climbed from rank 16 to 5 with this in a few days of casual queing, so it seems face hunter can still be competitive in low to mid/high ranking.

Mulligan:

You generally want to mulligan hard for the toxic reinforcements, dwarven sharpshooter, and phase stalker. Animal companion is an excellent keep as well, particularly against control oriented decks like res priest. Otherwise nothing else in particular is worth holding, including the weapon.

Strategy:

smORC! In the early game you want to play your deathrattle minions over HP and force your opponent to deal with them. You'll derive at least an equal amount of damage from this as you would from HP and potentially more if your opponent can't deal with them immediately. Ideally you want to hold the owl for minions that can give you a particularly hard time like zilli or khartut, but this is situational. If you have a lot of damage on board and a taunt is in your way, owl is never a bad choice. Try to keep unleash as a finisher unless you absolutely need to clear the board to prevent yourself from dying; hopefully you'll be able to draw one of the timber wolves as well to maximize damage potentiality. In this vein, if you have unleash and timber wolves in hand sometimes it is better to allow your opponent to take control of the board and lure them into a false sense of security and consequently playing more minions. I've won a surprising amount of games this way, as players at lower to mid rank often forget to play around unleash. Also, try to hold off on using arcane shot on face until you need it for lethal, as it an excellent removal tool for pesky taunts or zilliax. Otherwise, just remember to play secrets strategically. I.e. if your opponent has a board full of minions with 2 or less health and one minion with more than 2, remember to play explosive BEFORE you play misdirection or freezing, that way you don't miss potential damage/removal. Similarly, always play freezing BEFORE you play misdirection: you get nothing out of redirecting damage if the minion in question just gets returned to your opponent's hand before it can do any damage.

This is a great deck for people that don't have a lot of dust/are relatively new to the game and want to hit rank 5 for optimal return on end of the month rewards. If you like the deck please upvote it so more people can see it! Best of luck and let me know how it works for you!

EDIT: Added 2 scrapshots to replace lifedrinker. Will experiment with this to see how it feels, jungle panther or even a bad luck albatross to tech against highlander would also be viable replacements.
