INTRODUCTION
Hi guys, this is my new Shudderwock combo deck. Climbing in rank 5 with this deck.
General Strategy
Just like the old Shudderwock combo you win by going infinite with Shudderwock, Grumble, Worldshaker, Lifedrinker and the Doppelgangster. The twist is that you only play one of cards, in order to activate Zephrys the Great and Reno Jackson. This makes the deck more versatile and control oriented.
Since its a Reno Jackson deck there are a lot of replacement that can be made, outside the core cards. For example the deck could be made more greedy and slower with Dragonqueen Alexstrasza or more controlling with more removals/taunts or you could add tech if you face a specific deck a lot.
Customize the deck so it fits what you are facing, that's the true power of a Reno deck.
This is the best balance i found after some testing.

In depth strategy
First of all I'm happy people like the deck and i would like to say that this control deck is hard to play. Almost every game is different and so is your approach to it.
1. You can win by having the full Shudderwock combo with all components.
2. You can win by having Shudderwock, Doppelgangster and either Grumble, Worldshaker, Zola the gorgon or Baleful banker.
3. You can win by Dirty Rat and the above combo to disrupt combo decks.
4. You can win by grinding out your opponents with Hagatha the Witch.
which strategy you choose depends on the opponent and their deck. Against aggro you definitely don't need the combo so sometimes you can tempo Shudderwock to create a board.
Hagatha the Witch is a decent tool against aggro decks, or to stabilize if your too far behind, sometimes it sits in your hand and you purposely never play it. The card is in the deck for its flexibility. Its also good to go Hagatha the Witch before you complete the quest so can keep your quest hero power. With Hagatha the Witch in your Shudderwock pool you can clear boards and also make sure yours don't die due to the Twilight Drake.
Devolve, Plague of Murlocs and Hex is in the deck to counter mechs, bíg priests, deathrattle cards, Cubelock etc. And also Plague of murlocs + any board clear takes care of any board.
Faceless Corruptor is in the deck to fight for board in the mid game. It can also combo with Fencing Coach a turn before for a turn 5 double 4-4 with no board due to the free totem.
Replacements
The core cards are Shudderwock, Doppelgangster, Grumble, Worldshaker and Lifedrinker. The rest can technically be replaced.
Tech cards:
Loatheb if you face many mages.
Barista Lynchen for more value
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza for more greed.
Secret eaterto counter secret mages
Acidic Swamp Ooze for weapon countering
Minor comboes
Primary target for Zola the Gorgon and Baleful Banker is the Doppelgangster, Grumble, Worldshaker or Shudderwock - especially if a combo card is in the bottom of the deck and you feel you might have to yolo Shudderwock and hope it reshuffles.
secondary targets are more value or against aggro, copy Reno Jackson.
Quest Hero power + Dirty Rat + Plague of Murlocs to destroy combo decks.
If you Quest Hero power + Baleful Banker you shut down your Reno Jackson and Zephrys the Great, so dont do that.
Acolyte of Pain + Volcano = 3 card draws and board clear.

Thoughts on the latest expansion's cards? (and what can they do for your deck)
You seem REALLY thirsty . . .
Kinda a bad deck in this meta; Card draw is a little low.. considering the amount of spells that do 3 damage and acolyte and mana tide. Maybe I had bad luck but 3 times shudder was bottom 3 and hagatha seems wrong in this deck with no Loetheb even. Faceless corrupter is ok but Faceless Manipulator might be better vs big priest and big mechs or whatver vs control with emp thor. etc.
I agree, after some testing i have tweaked the deck to include loetheb (helps mage, druid and darkest hour warlock matchup). I also removed some of the greed and added redundancy for drawing dopplegangster so that the deck can do what it wants to do more often (play shudder more than once).

Sounds like you just had bad luck, but yes most combo deck will fail if there combo tools is in the bottom of the deck.
Didnt like faceless manipulator, in control games, Dirty Rat + Hagatha the Witch + Shudderwock just wins you the game. you pull and kill the board and also do the rest of the shudder combo.
@5IMnotFearcrads the beauty of this deck is you can tweak to fit your meta and what you are facing.
I found barista to be too slow, and Loatheb was useless as i faced 0 druids and 0 darkest hour warlocks. so i made the deck to fit my meta, found Sky Gen'ral Kragg to be to little value and also fills your hand in a very late Shudderwock games.
why do you have Brann Bronzebeard ? the quest doubles your battelcries.
Let me know how your deck performs though :)
Barista Lynchen had single handily won me a few aggro matches because you can double up Zephrys the Great or healing like Antique Healbot, it also makes the Shudderwock fail a lot less. As for Brann Bronzebeard , it was for the tempo 2/4 that the opponent would want to remove or when the quest isn't online yet. It is the 30th card and i am still not to sure about it. Sky Gen'ral Kragg can start to clunk up your hand sometimes but it wasn't to much of an issue because you usually win the game before its an issue (3+ shudders) and you dont play it in the matchup where you need 3 or more shudders (jade druid) but it is soo valuable in any of the tempo/ aggro matchups as it keeps you swinging the board back. The decks weak points are still unfortunately card draw and early turn plays but that can't be remedied from what I have looked at.
You have to keep in mind that you have 2 doppelgangsters but knowing that, its a fun and solid deck to play with lots of possibilitys. Multiple Reno Jackson and Grumble, Worldshaker, so it creates a loops.
No Loatheb?
Loatheb was useless for the decks i was facing, if you think it will improve your games, put him in :)
he would be best in the mage matchups but i could win those just fine so didnt feel the need for a Loatheb
it gives you flexibility, sometimes you only win with Hagatha alone, also if you play Shudder and have a hand full of lackeys / generated minions which in turn also give spells with you hero power.
It is true however, you should play with thinking it through, not simply play out minions and wait for Shudder.
I have played similar decks, its basically a lot of fun. Optimal? No... Versatile? Yes definitely.
like he says Hagatha the Witch is a flexible card, its mostly there for aggro decks which can be just what you need in the clutch. also Hagatha the Witch is fine if you play her BEFORE you finish the quest.
how is Hagatha the Witch a good card to include in a Shudderwock deck, meant to manifest cards, through Highlander effects?! This is not a good combination. If you were to build a deck around one or the other, that would be a good idea, but, these two cards do not compliment one another, in Wild, with this method of deck construction, it's intrinsically built into the card design.
A Highlander Shudderwock deck sounds good. A Highlander Hagatha the Witch sounds good. Both of these Legendary cards in the same Wild deck... you can do better than that.
