Proof (from rank 4-1):
General Strategy:
This is a control style deck that has an early tempo start that transitions to a more value/control oriented deck in the late game. Sometimes this deck has enough damage through the early and mid game to kill our opponent if you get an aggressive enough mulligan (Surging Tempest, Menacing Nimbus, SN1P-SN4P, Zephrys, good Bandersmosh transform, etc) but don't try to force it too much. There have been games that I've gotten my opponent to less than 10 health in the early/midgame but recognized that there is no direct damage in this deck and transitioned to a more control style, conserving my resources and trading.
*tip* If you're hand is empty with Shudderwock in hand, don't get too greedy with him and just play him because he generates a lot of value from our many battlecries and is great tempo
Mulligan:
Always Keep - Zap! (except Priest), Sludge Slurper, Surging Tempest, Menacing Nimbus, Novice Engineer, Sandstorm Elemental (except Priest), Zephrys the Great, Bad Luck Albatross, SN1P-SN4P, Vulpera Scoundrel
Sometimes Keep - Lightning Storm (vs Hunter), Bone Wraith (going second or if you have a decent 1-3 curve), Dragonmaw Poacher (vs Hunter), Escaped Manasaber (going second or if you have a decent 1-3 curve), Hex (vs Priest), Plague of Murlocs (vs Druid or Priest), Zilliax (vs Hunter)

replacement for escaped manasaber?
I like it and going really decent. I wonder if we can put Kael'thas Sunstrider into this deck somehow? What do you think?
this deck is a trap, downvote if you want but aggro just beats you and other highlander decks outvalue you. Nice try tho
Great deck man!
I have tried various own ideas on a competitive Highlander Shaman in this meta with very limited succes rates. Some decks were decent, others pretty much too slow. So far really enjoying your version!
still the Deck struggles against Gala Rogue or Highlander Hunter, Ooze doesnt really help because against Rogue its only for GalaWeapon.
Dont know if Boompistol is that disturbing for the Rogue. I really like the Lackey Totem because it acts like a menace and can give you the OP cards too.
I replaced him with a Spellbreaker in my version, the thought being that if I need a taunt removed this does the job almost as well. In some situations even better, since it removes deathrattles from Tirion Fordring, etc.
Krag'wa the frog is good with all spells from the deck
What do you think about changes :
- Surging Tempest
+ Doomsayer
I think it's better
7-0 so far from rank 7 to rank 5, tho I don't have Bandersmosh AND Siamat I replaced them with Acidic Swamp Ooze to tech against rogue/hunters/galakrond in general and Swampqueen Hagatha because I love this card and share the mana cost of Siamat.
Anyway, a really fun deck, thanks for sharing it :)
I just had one of the most fulfilling games of Hearthstone in my life earlier today, rocking this deck.
The opponent:
My all-stars:
This game took right at 26 minutes, clocking in as the single longest HS game I have ever played... and that's saying a lot, because I used to love Control Warrior.
The priest hit the Bad Luck Albatross hard, with every Grave Rune he had and on both Psychopomp resurrects. At one point, my deck had 25 cards left to his 7, I remember clearly. This negated my Alex and Zeph, but provided me a huge pool for Hagatha's hero power.
In the end, the priest quit via AFK with 24 health remaining and 2 cards left in his deck.
This was one of those games that make the whole rest of your day a little bit better. You know the ones I mean. So thanks, Funki, for the cool deck. I crafted Bandersmosh specifically for it as he was the only one I was missing, and man, the deck is off to a great start.
hahaha that game sounds awesome! Glad to hear your Bandersmosh craft did not disappoint :) . I'm always happy queuing into Priest because they are such easy wins. This one priest Grave Rune'd his Bad Luck Albatross on 4, then I hexed it and he conceded. But most Priests I'll hard mulligan for Plague of Murlocs (and hex of course), wait for them to use Zerek's Cloning Gallery, then turn them all into murlocs permanently messing up their res pool lol.
I was sceptical about your win rate and the deck in general, but it's a nice deck. Hagatha makes the real difference. So far got 4-1 and will try playing it. The real challenge was playing against mage, where each turn you are countering each other.
Great to hear you're liking it and having success with it! Hagatha the Witch is definitely powerful, especially getting extra Hexes/Plague of Murlocs against Res Priest ;) lol. Mage is by far the worst matchup for sure because they can produce so many huge boards and tons of value
I really like your deck but made some personal adjustments.
I removed the novice Engineer and added Far Sight. It only costs 1 mana more, the 1/1 body doesn't really matter and it reduced the cost of the card by 3. On top, if I shutter, I do not want to draw an additional card most of the time as my hand is going to be full from all the other battle cries.
I also removed the Surging tempest and added Windfury. It only costs 2 mana and did already a lot for me. Zilliax and Windfury against aggro for guaranteed removal and heal or just to finish an opponent with it. They often do not expect that.
Thank you for your deck:)
You're welcome, thanks for playing it! :)
Great substitutions as well! I preferred the Novice Engineer because sometimes the 1/1 body can trade and finish off an opponents minion against aggro decks and then I can follow up my curve to gain board control but like you said Far Sight has its advantages with Shudderwock as well, like in the control/fatigue matchups.
This is a very fun and competitive deck. I replaced Surging Tempest with Zentimoto have big Hex effect. It is a bit inconsistent, but you can also use any other direct spell with him, which is fun and has great power level.
Furthermore, I am really impressed that Bandersmosh can give consistent value. The stats are really good for a 5/5 and the pool of powerful legendaries is pretty large right now!
Shaman will be interesting, when Shudderwock and Hagatha rotate out.
Bandersmosh is surprisingly good! especially in a deck like this that aims for the long game so you can wait for the PERFECT legendary! Surging Tempest is really nice for the early game to establish early tempo so you can transition into control around turn 6+. I found that if you lose early tempo against classes like Rogue or Hunter then you're always playing "catch-up", and the early curve is nice against Quest Druid to force them to be reactive and respond to your plays vs the other way around. Zentimo is definitely not bad though, and can have some huge swing turns! But like you said probably makes it a bit more inconsistent overall
Glad you like the deck! :D
Any replacement for The Black Knight ?
Acidic Swamp Ooze
I love Zeph’s deck and this one is awesome too! I don’t have many legendaries on Shaman, but I was happy too watch your games)
