So a few weeks ago I decided to start playing hearthstone again and started at rank 20.
Now I am in the top 500 Legend all because of this deck, I did tweak it constantly throughout the climb depending on what decks were popular but only minor changes. This list, however, has made me go 11/1 in Legend.
I won't do a guide because I'm a casual player and there are plenty of guides out there since this deck is not dissimilar to many other versions of the same archetype, hope you have as much fun with this deck as I did :)
Edit: After reading feedback and playing a few more games (still around 85% in Legend) I felt as if Spirit of the Shark was being a bit too clunky even for late-game value generation. Recently a well-respected twitch streamer JalexanderHS wrote up an excellent article explaining the sticky intuitions surrounding cards like the shark. Link below:

Although I have had (ridiculously) successful experiences with the shark, it is indeed too inconsistent. So, I have replaced it with Blink Fox, to give consistent value whilst increasing the playability of Vendetta and Underbelly Fence.
i really like this deck but i don't think you need a devoted maniac in this list. In Rouge i don't really like that card because its just a 4 mana 2/2 rush which is a very bad tempo play. I cut it in all my lists and in this one i added a blink fox as a replacement to help activate vendetta and the underbelly. Sure you can't really invoke galakrond 4 times but i played 60-70 games with similar highland lists and even in those where i had 4 invoke cards i never really invoked him 4 times.
That's a really great observation, out of the 100+ games of playing this deck, I think I only fully invoked twice? Making the underbelly and vendetta more playable is far more advantageous than increasing galakronds potential. There could be some argument that generating a lackey to synergize with Togwaggle might be better but even then that's a very specific reason. Like your thinking
I am currently playing this deck at rank legend and I played around 100 games and my winrate is 75%.
That's great to hear! :)
what is underbelly fence doing in the list? seems like there is only a slim chance that you're actually holding a card from another class
I asked myself the same question when I started playing it. There's actually quite a few ways of getting cards from other classes easily
Zephrys almost always gives you an option from another class, Alextrassa often does, dragonic lackeys and the pharaoh cat all give ways of activating underbelly fence and vendetta.
Zephrys, mostly used in a troublesome situation. Meaning the option mostly will be used right away. Alexstrazsa is a late game card, and the cat has a slim chance of giving you a class card. I have used this list myself and struggled with the underbelly fence not being very usefull. I myself am using a blink fox in it's place.
I agree with everything you're saying. However, I would still keep underbelly in the deck due to its tempo value. It might be worth cutting the shark for a blink fox to increase its playability.
Seems like you play a finite number of games per day. By chance are you waiting until your servers are less populated by players who... know what they're doing?
Edit for clarity - I definitely know that in my region, there are better times to play if you want to climb the ladder unencumbered, I'm simply asking if that's part of your strategy. Because that is a real factor.
To be honest, I wouldn't have a clue when the servers are less populated. I'm in Australia and I mainly play in the evening but sometimes in the mornings too, just whenever I can or feel like it.
what are the cards for mulligan basically and for the specific match-ups? thanks
If you head to hsreplay.net they have really great stats on mulligans with decks similar to mine.
I always keep Pharaoh Cat, Zephrys the Great, Praise Galakrond!, Vendetta and Underbelly Fence. EVIL Miscreant and SI:7 Agent are also great if you have the coin.
Keep Dragonmaw Poacher against Mages, Hunters and sometimes Druids.
What is the idea of keeping Zephrys? Getting a silence early in the game? or how do you use him mostly?
Because it seems to me that later in the game is where you can use him to get a boardclear or help you get lethal.
Sometimes Zephrys is often good as a tempo play if you are lacking playable cards in your hand. Playing on turn 2 means you can ramp and get ahead early, or just offer some tempo plays turn 3 to get you ahead on the board. Yes keeping him for a silence is good too if you have a good idea who you're matching with, basically he's just there for tempo, otherwise you can just let him sit and wait for a lethal play or something
Cause you want to High Roll
Instead of the shark I use the new 1/3 stealth pirate that draws a card. I worry there wont be a good time to play the shark due to the mana cost, what do you think?
Spirit of the Shark is probably the most flexible card replacement in the deck.
The shark is only there to provide insane value in the late game against slower decks. I only added the shark recently in Legend due to games being a bit slower and lasting longer. From ranks 5-1 I actually used Crystallizer instead to deal with early face hunter minions and deny rogues seal fate. But yes Skyvateer is a good replacement for faster metas.
Well I got lucky with 0 mana spirit, Kronx in hand plus shadow step and 10 mana. Resulted in 20 face 20 heal. But it is situational I agree.
What would you put if you dont have Siamat? thx
You could easily replace it with any value generating cards like Blink Fox, Hench-Clan Burglar or Lifedrinker
