This is my climb from rank 5-2 (2 wins were not recorded by tracker)
General Strategy:
This deck is surprisingly versatile. It can play for tempo and can also play for control. It really depends on your opening hand. If your opening hand consists a lot of 1-4 cost minions then you want to play for tempo. However, if you get an unlucky mulligan and don't have many minions to play through turns 1-3 then you want to play for control. This deck has an insane amount of value so don't be too greedy with your cards. For example, it's ok to use Grave Rune on a Bone Wraith, or Nightmare Amalgam before trading if you're going for more tempo.
*tip* If you have a Northshire Cleric and a damaged minion it is usually best to get the free card draw while you can.
*tip* Against Rogue, Murozond the Infinite is best saved for after they use Heistbaron Togwaggle's wand so you can draw 3 free cards.
Mulligan:
Always Keep - Any 1-3 cost card (except Shadow Word: Death), Bone Wraith/ High Priest Amet/ Twilight Drake (if you have a 1-3 cost minion)
Sometimes Keep - Zilliax (against Hunter)
I hope you like this deck and, as always, if you have any questions or have a suggestion please comment below (I respond to all comments)!

To all those who think they are "plYING THE DECK WRONG" CUZ THEY CABT GET A 80% WINRATE. Surprise, Funki was on a highroll streak. I watched about half the stresam when he played tjis deck.
Example, there is no SW Pain, nbo Penance in this deck!! How do u deal with early threats?
I , like Funki, build home brew decks all the time. I know from pewrsonal experience, just how good a Highlander Priest deck can do in this meta. \SECRET: its not 80%. lol It was cool to see him win like he did, but its not the norm.
Highlander Priest should get anyone around a more avg win% of 60% or, more realistically, 58% after 50 games or so.l
So dont feel bad if your not getting 80% like funki.
High rolls happen in card games , alot. And if yoou notice, almost all his games were vs Hunter and Rogue. And the Rogues werent that great. Not many hit their 4 mana draw 4 combo in time to win.
I think the biggest addition to this version of Hoghlander is the 4 mana DR spell. When used correctly, it can save and win games for you. Use it on a zilliax for healing and face protection, is just 1 example of how to uyse that card.
Nice spelling
Struggling vs Highlander mages - they just overvalue so hard towards late game, mainly due to massive amount of removal.
Im thinking maybe implementing hakkar? and swap maybe deadringer with the 2 cost that changes all natural cards in your deck to your class cards.
Mage is the only class I have a negative WR against as well. Every deck has its weaker matchups and this one is our weakest.
Hakkar, the Soulflayer is pretty bad in this meta because the meta is usually defined by tempo or huge swing turns and games rarely go to the late game/ end of deck unless you're against a Res Priest (in which case you don't want 1 bad card in the deck to help against 1 uncommon deck).
Missing Kaahrj and Murozond...do you have any replacement FunkiMonki ???
for Murozond the Infinite you could replace with an Evasive Drakonid, and for Mindflayer Kaahrj you could replace for Injured Tol'vir or Brightwing
Thanks :)
A viable Priest deck that isn't rez priest? Take my up-vote, sir.
Loses pretty hard to the control version of Lackey warlock though.
Thank you! I agree, we needed something fresh that isn't Res Priest lol.
Strangely enough, in 50 games I didn't face 1 Warlock lol. I would imagine that you could beat it though by playing for early tempo and not overextending into a Plague of Flames. Mass Hysteria and Plague of Death deal well with their Galakrond
The problem is you can't build wide because of dark skies, can't build tall because of plague of flames, you need to be able to deal with all of their imps, which will eventually chip you down if unchecked, and they've also that that 5/5 dragon that clears wide boards, on top of having near constant board refills, and while this deck does really well at steadily gaining a lead, it doesn't have much in the way of comeback potential, which is what you really need against lackey lock. Then to top it all off they've got zephrys and alex lol. We're just not fast enough to rush them down and not control-y enough to win the long game.
Best highlander priest so far. Working my way through rank 5. Went 4-1 lost to face hunter. Ty for this one.
That's awesome!! You're welcome, and great to hear it's working well for you :)
12-11 with it so far. I don't know what i'm doing wrong, but still i think the decks has a lot of potential. However i don't know how FunkiMonki got a 20-5 with it.
I leveled out back to 50%. Galakrond Res Priest time.
Best advice I can give is to not tunnel vision into playing only a tempo style or only control style with it. If you have a very tempo based hand (1-4 drops) and against other tempo decks like Rogue, Hunter or Paladin, then play hard for tempo. Meaning, no hero powering unless you have a Northshire Cleric. Don't save your cards for value (ex. Mindflayer Kaahrj). If you ever get greedy and go for value plays or skipping a turn over tempo plays then you'll do worse. Against Priest is really the only time you want to go for those value plays.
Hope this helps! :)
