Hi, replace for new Malygos and Kalecgos please?

Hey so question what with rotating cards and all that is this deck viable without certain cards such as pocket and ziliax

any replacement for reno the relicologist or do i just need to suck it up and craft him?

too much RNG, i'll pass

Just not working out for me.  Trounced by every Hunter and Druid. There hasn't even been a moment of this being competitive with those decks for me.

Hello, love the deck so far! How does this win against Embiggen Druid though? I have less than 10% win rate against Embiggen Druid. They've always flooded the board on turn 4/5, nothing to counter that properly.

To be perfectly clear: If Embiggen Druid has a perfect draw (1-2 times Embiggen, both Breath of Dreams, a dragon and Strength of numbers ...) it is very VERY hard to win against it. But that is true with every class... ;)

With a less perfect draw, Embiggen Druid is actually easy most of the time. To win you have to understand the weakness of this deck: It features very little heal and has no real comeback capabilities if it looses board control. Furthermore it has rather low card draw.

Depending of your initial hand your best chances to win are the following strategies:

1. Play Aggro against him. Perfect start would be Learn draconic in turn 1, zephyris or dragon speaker in two, Messenger Raven or Animal Companion in three... and so on. Go face until he will eventually overwhelm your forces on the board in the midgame. Then stall the game (frost, board clears, etc.) until you can face him down (e.g. with some face damage spells from discovery).

2. Lunas Galaxy and card draw. Try to Luna as early as possible and discover spells with extra card draw, e.g. Malygos Interlect. Use your board clears to get the upper hand on the board and value him down. This will work only if you draw luna very early in the game. Obviously Luna is best played along dragon mage or with learn draconic. Be careful not to be crushed by him in the mid game if following this startegy.

3. Reno him: Delay his troups with frost spells, board clears, zephyris, secrets, etc. Heal or armor up if possible. Get to turn 10 with this strategy (or turn 9 with coin). Use Reno to clear his unstoppable board. After this you have more ressources for the endgame than him. :)

4. If nothing helps: Trust the power of the Puzzle Box. You can play it as early as turn 5 with dragon mage and coin. From my experience, while it can kill your game it is more likely to give you a serious advantage and can even win you the game. If you have nothing to loose, you can just win. :)

On a side note: Mirror image is very useful against embiggen druid if you time it correct. ;)

I don't see this winning again face hunter tbh. Please elaborate 

i'd also like to know, dont really see this doing well against face hunter, but will still give it a try

i just got to 10 with a variant? (maybe not) of this deck, but hunter is like auto concede now. Out of the last 10 hunters, i was only able to get 1 win and i hit every card i needed when i needed it, it was ridiculous.

mage vs hunter is awful.

I have been getting more success with Unexpected Results just getting those 2x 2m drops is helping me live into 6 mana more frequently. I have also added Pumpkin Peasant and Arcane Amplifier

I have removed - Luna's Pocket Galaxy × 1   - Tortollan Pilgrim × 1 - Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron × 1
The amount of face decks i have encountered these were way too slow and I always got the shit end of the stick with puzzle box.

Hi there,

I had to accept that the new dragon face hunter is indeed the nemeses of this deck. After more than 100 games I am down to a 35% WR against it. All other hunter types very quite win-able, but it is tough.

If you face a lot of them consider removing sheep, khartut and cobald spellkin for something like rolling fireball, nightmare alagham and maybe frost armor - but i have not tested that.

I also noticed, that this deck should not be played when you are tired. I had several loses due to stupid plays where I used e.g. dragon mage without holding a dragon, without a useful spell or due to stupid uses of zephyris, ...

The good news is: Against all other classes I am still running a very solid winrate somewhere between 52% (for galakrond rouge) and 68% (yes, that is against priest). Most games were played rank 5 and higher.  And it is still plenty of fun.

Since the deck got some attention and several likes I will write a guide soon starting with muligan tipps. I keep you posted.

Thanks for sharing your list, gave me some ideas for tweaking my own HL mage.  I had long ago cut the old doomsayer + frost nova combo as being too expensive and rigid in HL but I like the idea of using ray of frost since you have more options to use that alone or with doomsayer.

My current card differences are - 1 Learn Draconic, - 1 Messenger Raven, - 1 Kartut Defender for + 1 Brightwing, +1 Voodoo Doll, +1 Vulpera Scoundrel but I'm not suggesting or pushing those changes, your list is great as is!

Outside of the usual suspects lineup of tech choices (that I won't list here), other cards I have previously used or think are usable in similar HL mage decks depending on your meta, playstyle and rank are: Magic Trick, Shooting Star, Book of Specters, Stargazer Luna, Rolling Fireball, Pyroblast, Dragon Breeder, Scalerider, Evasive Wyrm, Crowd Roaster, Siamat, and Mt. Giant.

Wasabi, I love this deck. It is so fun to play. In the last 48 hours the meta has shifted for me so that 4/5 encounters are the aggro hunter or embiggen Druid, which I lose too a lot. Are there good substitutions to help against these decks? Thanks!

Those are 2 of your main value generating cards. I would just play a different deck.
