Hi Guys, I just climbed to EU Legend with this deck and I want to share it with you. Very cheap, easy and fun to play. I recommend players that are trying to climb Legend. If you have any questions, please comment below, I'll answer them.
Edit: Dragonmaw Poacher out, Frizz Kindleroost in. Because Frizz Kindleroost is never will be a dead draw. You can play your dragons cheaper and 4 mana 5/4 is not reduce your tempo.
General Strategy
This deck is all about mana cheating and it is fun as hell! Cards that cheats mana are the core of this deck. Embiggen. Strength in Numbers and Breath of Dreams.
With Embiggen, your minions will be much bigger, your tempo will be unstoppable. Once you play minions with big bodies and effects, opponents will not be able to out tempo you. Your minions' extra effects like taunt and untargetability, forces your opponent to trading. So a big advantage for both offense and defense.
Breath of Dreams is an excellent card with ramp and draw power. Especially very effective at early game so you can play bigger.
Strength in Numbers is the biggest trick of this deck. It grants extreme tempo advantage at whole game. No matter it is early or late. It can summon Evasive Wyrm, Winged Guardian of Zilliax.
Deck has a weird side in it. You can have surprise lethals, so always check for lethals, It may be surprising even for you. Because you always have a big and wide field. You may have 10-12 attack Leeroy Jenkins or 2 Swipes and Scalerider in hand. While you have big taunts like Emerald Explorer or Winged Guardian, it is better to play aggresively and attack to face with your big minions.
Beast package Winged Guardian and Witching Hour is a nice addition to deck after new adventure. Most of the decks can't deal with a 8/10 Winged Guardian but sometimes Witching Hour can be a dead draw, so be careful with it. Note: If you discover Nightmare Amalgam from Emerald Explorer, don't forget that Nightmare Amalgam is also a beast and it can ruin Witching Hour.
Matchups
If you are against an aggro deck like Face Hunter, Zoolock or Mech Paladin, go fast and play your cheap minions and don't let your opponent gain tempo until midgame. After that, their fuel will be out and you will win the game(mostly they will concede lol).
If you are against a non-aggro deck, no need to rush, play on curve and don't trade with your big minions, your opponent is supposed to do trades while you are going face.
For heavily control decks like Quest Priest and Holy Wrath Paladin you should go extremely aggro and smash their faces until they got their objective otherwise you will lose. These decks are the worst matchup for us, so don't be upset if you lose.
For mirror match, most important card is Strength in Numbers. You need to complete it before your opponent.
Mulligan Guide
!!!Always Keep and Hard Mulligan For All-Star Cards !!!
Embiggen Strength in Numbers Breath of Dreams
For aggro matchups you can consider to keep Fearie Dragon, Injured Tol'vir and Scalerider but for others I always hard mulligan for the all-star cards.
Card Preferences
You can try these other cards in your deck if you want:
SN1P-SN4P, Spellbreaker, Archmage Vargoth, Batterhead or Dragonmaw Poacher.
You can cut these cards from deck:
Frizz Kindleroost, Witching Hour, one Injured Tol'vir, one Scalerider.
Normally, this type of combo cards reduce the consistency of the deck but Vargoth is a 6 mana minion. So at the worst case it is a 4 mana minion with 2/6 body. Also it is a mana spender for quest. For summary, if you didn't played Winged Guardian, Witching Hour is a non-playable dead card in your hand which wastes your draw, but Vargoth is a minion and at least you can play it.
Witching Hour is a lot less complicated to play than Archmage Vargoth.
Playing Archmage Vargoth on it's own is never a good idea. So you always need to spend more mana to get a good use of Archmage Vargoth .
For example. Archmage Vargoth is a dead card unless you combine it with a spell like Witching Hour . Which is a 7 cost combination. Witching hour is only a dead card when you have not played Winged Guardian yet. However, this deck has so many playable cards that holding witching hour for a short while is not that bad. There are enough playable optiions.
Aside of that, you can combine Witching Hour with other cards like Emerald Explorer , which you cannot do when you play Archmage Vargoth + Witching Hour .
All in all having two Witching Hour does not feel like a burden to me.
Vargoth is absolutely not a dead card if you don't combine it with something immediately. Your opponent goes crazy trying to remove it. I've had people have to use their Zephrys if you just play it on curve. It represents a massive threat if untouched.
And then remains the question. Are you happy that your Archmage Vargoth did not give you an extra Winged Guardian but did make your opponent use his Zephrys? If yes, than that's fine for you.
I would be happier with double Winged Guardian from Witching Hour , as most times that's a wall the opponent won't be able to break.
But the fact is the second Witching Hour may NEVER give you a single Winged Guardian if you draw them before you get a single Winged Guardian. Vargoth is never a dead draw, and can do so much more. Stats show the double witching hour variant is worse anyways.
And yes, getting your opponent to use Zephrys to clear Vargoth is one of the best things you can get to happen as Embiggen Druid. It means no mass dispel or twisting nether later.
Which card can i use for frizz because im gonna craft leeroy
You can use SN1P-SN4P, Dragonmaw Poacher or Spellbreaker.
Use Archmage Vargoth. You can pair it with Embiggen or Witching Hour for some massive combos occasionally. And sometimes a bonus swipe out of nowhere.
Cannot craft Winged Guardian (as a nab i didn't know that :( ) what card could i possibly replace that?
Thnx
Witchwood Grizzly ? Bur a lot worse tho
Yes that is totally true.
All done :D made an exception to regular policy of mine and bought the chapter for the Winged Guardians! now i do have em! <3 Thnx anyway guys! Gonna try this deck!
ok so treant druid is taking us down, what about taking out Frizz Kindleroost or Witching Hour and add one more removal?
Yes it is a possibility if you are facing a lot of Treant Druids or Zoolocks. Starfall maybe?
gonna give it a try, gonna take out witching hour since i really like to have frizz in this deck
For aggro decks, especially Treant Druid, i decided to experiment with Batterhead and it actually works perfectly. Needless to say if you manage to buff him with at least one Embiggen the impact it gets on board is severe.
Brilliant idea. I can't imagine a buffed Butterhead comes with Strength in Numbers lol.
Oh yeah! It is this awesome moment when your opponent seriously considers to concede!
dude THANK YOU
Do you really need friz because i have ysera.
and witchone do you need more friz or leeroy
