Because Leeroy Jenkins got removed from standard, I replaced it with Dragonbane
I also added Snake Trap instead of Misdirection
Mulligan Guide
Top 3 keeps are Toxic Reinforcements, Phase Stalker and Dwarven Sharpshooter
STARTING FIRST
Preferably you look for Toxic Reinforcements or Dwarven Sharpshooter along with Phase Stalker or Kobold Sandtrooper
STARTING SECOND
If you have the coin look for this type of mana curves:
(1 drops) Toxic Reinforcements or Dwarven Sharpshooter
(2 drops) Phase Stalker or Kobold Sandtrooper
(3 drops) Animal Companion or Eaglehorn Bow
Deck Synergy
A. Bloodmage Thalnos works really well with low mana spells like Arcane Shot and Rapid Fire. And you can use this combo to finish your opponent or to make some value trades.
Whenever you end up in a turn with 1 or even 2 extra mana crystals, and you have in hand either Arcane Shot, Rapid Fire or both, it's better not to use them for face damage unless it's lethal of course. Ideally would be to keep these spells in hand until Bloodmage Thalnos is drawn. Another good use of the spells would be to make value trades, like getting through Zilliax.
B. Toxic Reinforcements is one of the most important if not the most important cards from the deck. You always want to play it Turn 1 and ideally pop it at Turn 4.
Let's say that you start first, and you end up having the following cards in hand:
Toxic Reinforcements, Phase Stalker and Eaglehorn Bow
Turn 1: Play Toxic Reinforcements
Turn 2: Hero Power
Turn 3: Play Dwarven Sharpshooter (if you draw it on turn 2 or turn 3) and you also Hero Power; If not just Hero Power
Turn 4: Most of the time you play Phase Stalker and you Hero Power, so that you can get value from it or you can also play Kobold Sandtrooper and Hero Power
Turn 5: Most of the time you play any 3 drops (like Eaglehorn Bow or Animal Companion) and Hero Power
The example that I gave above it's a 'standard play' and it's a pretty common situation that you might encounter by using the deck. But sometimes in different matchups, the 'standard play' might vary depending on the Hero and the deck that you are facing.
If you have success with the deck and you like it, I would appreciate it if you can leave a positive rating.
Good luck!
Are there any good cards from the latest adventure that would make the deck even better? Just starting out!
From the latest adventure, I think that Frenzied Felwing it's a pretty solid card for Aggro decks but at the moment I couldn't fit it in my current deck build.
However, I would like to test the new meta that starts in April and I might make some more changes to the deck in the near future.
What about using Mana Reservoir instead of Bloodmage Thalnos?
If you don't have Bloodmage Thalnos, I would suggest Spellzerker as a replacement.
Decks with Taunts like zilly or priests in general are difficult to play against because of the taunts and lifesteals. Didn´t you think about using a "shieldbreaker"? it's a 2 mana silence that can open the board. I tried it and it works very well. I think it would be a nice replacement for "Tracking" or "Freezing Trap"
Against decks that run taunts like Khartut Defender there is Ironbeak Owl that you can use to silence it.
However if you find it hard to ladder because you face a lot of opponents who use taunts that have deathrattles or lifesteal, you can definitely replace either Tracking or you can take out one Kobold Sandtrooper, and instead add another Ironbeak Owl or Shieldbreaker, but I would suggest Ironbeak Owl because it has more synergy with the deck, since it's a beast.
But usually against Quest Resurrect Priest this deck does not perform well, so I don't think that making any change will give you an edge against it. They way to beat Quest Resurrect Priests is to build your board early, and only attack when you can deal a significant amount of damage to the opponent (6+ damage the first time you attack face). When Khartut Defender is played, you have two options, you either silence it and go face, or you don't attack it at all and try to deal as much damage as you can to his face by using your Hero Power + spells in combination with Bloodmage Thalnos.
I hope I have been of some help to you.
Is thalnos needed, because thats the only thing im missing
I've put Bloodmage Thalnos in the deck because it works really well with low mana spells like Arcane Shot and Rapid Fire. And you can use this combo to finish your opponent or to make some value trades.
But you can replace Bloodmage Thalnos with Spellzerker. And if you do this replacement, a good combo that will allow you to do instant damage would be to use Rapid Fire once to hit your own Spellzerker so that you can activate the '+2 Spell Damage' and then use any other spells that you have in hand.
I hope that my reply will help you.
Amazing. Thanks. Hunter and Warrior are my last to get to 1K wins. This is getting me a lot right now.
Also, great guide and CONGRATULATIONS on Legend! My best so far is 3. Maybe get there some day? :(
haha.
happy New Year!!!!
Thank you for the kind words.
I am glad you like the deck, and I am sure you'll get to legend one day.
Happy New Year!
Can you please give me some guide with this deck? I'm a bit confused when I play Toxic Reinforcements, do I have to go hero power on turn 2? I am usually so reactive and I don't think that's how you play this deck. :\
Years of playing control have taking a toll on me, haha.
I updated the description again and I added a little explanation.
Thanks mate, great deck. Any mulligan rules? Obviously you keep Toxic and Phase Stalker.
I updated the description and I added a mulligan guide.
