ARCHETYPE EXPLANATION

Tempo Rogue is a hybrid archetype which emerged from the February balance patch meta. Traditional Miracle Rogue is simply not powerful enough, so the Pirates package along with two copies of Waggle Pick have been added to take the most advantage of Rastakhan’s Rumble's strongest addition to the Rogue class, Raiding Party. Even after the recent nerfs to Preparation and Raiding Party, Tempo Rogue players don't have to rely on slower card draw tools such as Sprint or Gadgetzan Auctioneer, and instead they can be far more focused on closing out games with efficient tempo plays. The deck shares some elements with Miracle Rogue, such as using power cards like Edwin VanCleef, Myra’s Unstable Element, and Hench-Clan Burglar. Board control remains an essential element of the deck's early-game plan, despite its aggro-oriented appearance. The main new tool the deck got in the Rise of Shadows expansion is EVIL Miscreant, a 3-mana 1/4 minion with the combo effect of adding two random Lackeys to your hand, which is both a decent tempo card and an extremely good value card. This was the addition that was most crucial to making Tempo Rogue a powerful deck, but it has also newly received a few new tools from Saviors of Uldum.
