10 wins out of 13 so far from Rank 5 to 4. The proof is down below.
We compensate relatively slow start with lots of healing in the deck.
The idea is to reduce the cost of the deathrattle minions to 1 by Anka, the Buried, play them, trigger their deathrattles if we can and bring them back by N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
Anka, the Buried is Ok to play at turn 5 even if you have just 2 - 3 deathrattle minions in your hand as long as you also have Necrium Vial too. At turn 6, you can restore upto 16 health, you can summon 2 Mechanical Dragons or Baine Bloodhoofs or you can steal 2 of your opponent's minions.
I will refine this deck recipe and expand the guide through the following days.
MULLIGAN:
If yıu have the coin, absolutely keep Raiding Party and play it at turn 3.
Against Aggro:
- Shiv
- Fan of Knives
- Rotten Applebaum (Sahket Sapper against Carpet Zoo)
- Togwaggle's Scheme
Against Control:
- Anka, the Buried
- Shiv + Eviscerate vs Highlander; Fan of Knives vs Reborn
- Necrium Blade
- Togwaggle's Scheme
- Sahket Sapper (or Sylvanas Windrunner if you have all above)
CARD CHOICES AND TIPS FOR THE GAME PLAN:
- Preparation: This card can be really important for this deck as it allows us to play a deathrattle minion like Khartut Defender and Necrium Vial in the same turn which is really good for tempo. Let me explain it with three different scenarios;
- We played Anka, the Buried at turn 5 but we're down to 10 health by turn 6 and our opponent has 3 big minions on board. We can play 1/1 Khartut Defender, 1/1 Rotten Applebaum and 1/1 Sylvanas Windrunner (or Sahket Sapper) for 3 mana, then play Preparation and Necrium Vial on Sylvanas Windrunner to steal two of our opponents minions. Our opponents will be intimidated to play another minion the next turn as well. You'll be surprised how often that scenario happens.
- It's turn 8, we're too desperate to finish the game with 2 Eviscerates or find a taunt minion to hold on to the game. Preparation + Myra's Unstable Element allows us to do both in the same turn.
- We played Myra's Unstable Element on turn 9 and our deck is empty. At turn 10, we can play N'Zoth, the Corruptor, then Preparation and finally Togwaggle's Scheme to fill our deck 5-6 N'Zoth, the Corruptors. That's auto conceed for our opponent.
- Sahket Sapper: Again, there are multiple reasons to choose this card.
- You'd prefer to have this against Sylvanas Windrunner
- It's better to avoid deathrattles.
- It's better against divine shield taunt minions when your side of the board is full thanks to N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
- 4-attack is better for face damage or removing multiple minion: Kill one, send the other back to hand. (I was backstabbing Sahket Sapper sometimes just for that)
- Adds nothing to Resurrection pool.
- Blightnozzle Crawler: I don't like it for the reasons I listed above.
- Togwaggle's Scheme is added to the list.
- Emperor Thaurissan: is added to the list. You can even play it while holding just one copy of Togwaggle's Scheme
- Sahket Sapper and Sylvanas Windrunner are the keys to beat the combo decks. Slow your opponents with taunts till you get those cards in your hand.
CARDS TO CONSIDER: (in this order)
- -1 Preparation, +1 EVIL Miscreant
- -1 Preparation, +1 Myra Rotspring
- -1 Preparation, +1 Blightnozzle Crawler
- -1 Preparation, +1 Lab Recruiter
- -1 Preparation, +1 Annusibath Warbringer

lmao I actually was playing with something really simmilar to your deck, that's kinda crazy and stupid, but I don't like it at all. Really slow and depends on Anka and even if you play anka is not that strong if you think about it. Lack of removal tools. You only hope opponet will play in the same pace as you. It has a lot of healing, I like it, but other than that nah. You can check out my deathrattle rogue. And I'm not a fan of mana curve of your deck
I updated my deck list to adjust it more to fast evolving meta,
Blatant Decoy in a N'Zoth, the Corruptor deck? In a deck running Harrison Jones and Zilliax? No, thank you. I think it's a terrible idea.
So add me and let's play a few games.
lmao nice adapting to meta. Added lifedrinker that does absolutely nothing. Your only "removal" card is a 4 mana pirate. and sometimes it's even worse to return enemy minions. you have zero sense in meta and deck building. And like I said you need grey matter in your head to opperate with Blatant Decoy.
There's no need to throw insults around, mate. How about you enjoy your deck, and I enjoy mine.
Best of luck on your games.

I made some radical changes to the list in case you may want to check
Rank 5 dumpster meta is quite fast at the moment and this deck is wayyyy too slow. I think the meta overall will be speeding up to counter all the heavy control decks around at the moment, so dont see this deck being a massive winner.
What do you think about adding Jepetto? It can work well I think?
Possible. I didn't try it because it thought it might be slow. It may be worthy of trying tho.
Anubisat Wrbringer is kind of insane for 1 mana and I also put in a The Undertaker, -Myras -prep
Bouth worked great for me.
Sounds interesting, thanks. I'll add them to suggestions.
Anubisat buffing a Ziliax once or twise is gameturning vs aggros
Hey nice looking deck! I have a few suggestions but take into consideration that I haven't played the deck so I might be way off.
For me, DR Rogue has potential because you possibly have the highest number of playable N'zoth for a very cheap investment (Just one Scheme compared to Warlock for example that need 2x expired merchant or Soulwardens or both). So I assume the gameplan of the deck is to survive long enough to be in that loop where you just spam N'zoth every turn. Having this in mind :
- Necrium Blade. I find really weird that this card isn't included in the deck. A 3/2 weapon is itself a nice tool for early board control, and the synergy with the deck is just insane. In my opinion it's way better than the flask. Flask is dependant on drawing Anka or Prep, while Blade gives you a way to activate your deathrattles for "free". I would run 2 blades 2 flasks tbh.
- Preparation. I don't like Preparation. It's a soft-innervation for spells only, that you really only want to use on Flask, in a deck that has pretty much 0 card draw. I think it's ok, but not worth its spot in the list when there are much better options, in my opinion.
- Novice Engineer. No offense but this seems really bad. If you really wanna draw, Shiv looks better.
- Sahket Sapper. Not convinced by this one. Yes when used with exactly prep+flask in very situational boards it's good. But, the card is really terribly bad when you can't activate its deathrattle, and it's not really something you wanna bring back with N'zoth so you're polluting your deathpool aswell. If you want the same effect, I think Sap is better, also because it's cheaper and the deck is already very heavy mana-wise so having a few cheap cards can help a lot.
- Blightnozzle Crawler. Is I think something that should be included. I was playing this card back when DR Rogue had Cubes, and it was really really good. It's on-curve synergy with Necrium Blade is really good.
Also : not sure Miscreant really fits the deck. And you need a way to play more than a single N'zoth. Keep a prep + scheme, or Thaurissan + scheme. And finally, the next level question : How do you beat combo decks ? That I don't know. Only way I see is to include Hakkar, put bloods in your opponent's deck, and dilute yours with schemes.
Thanks for the comment! I'll try to cover those card choices as much as I can;
- Necrium Blade: I totally agree that this weapon is good for face damage and quickly responding low-health minions like Murloc Warleader but the most of the time its deathrattle is just a miss. Yet, I added one for more value. I'm not sure what you mean by "flask".
- Preparation: This card is a-must for this deck as it allows to play a deathrattle minion like Cairne Bloodhoof and Necrium Vial in the same turn which is really good for tempo. Let me explain it with three scenarios;
- Novice Engineer: I agree, I already replaced it with Shiv
- Sahket Sapper: Again, there are multiple reasons to choose this card.
- Blightnozzle Crawler: I don't like it for the reasons I listed above.
- EVIL Miscreant: Lackeys are good value generators. Even though this card may stay in your hand until turn 5 or 6, using a lackey to give a deathrattle minion taunt or rush; or just simply discovering a spell is totally worth it.
Togwaggle's Scheme is added to the list. I'm not sure about Emperor Thaurissan, we are not that of a control deck. Sahket Sapper and Sylvanas Windrunner are the keys to beat the combo decks. Slow your opponents with taunts till you get those cards in your hand.
Thx for taking the time to respond to my post ! Since then, I crafted Anka and gave DR Rogue a try. Actually been playing only that for 2 days, so I'd like to come back to what I said now that I have some more experience.
I've been trying your list, then my "modified" list. For both, the deck was feeling.. bad somehow. The deathrattle activators (weapon and flask, sorry you didn't understand flask it's probably not its english name, the 5 mana spell to double activate DRs ^^) are super awkward to use and you can often only use them on healing which is pretty bad. The weapon is okish but when you play it on 3 to clean the board and defend yourself you rarely have a good target on 4 to use the 2nd charge.
I thought Miscreant would not fit the deck, but after trying both versions, I actually really like it. The card is just too good and gives you a good early game. So good that I ended up using Cable Rats and Togwaggle aswell. It fits the deck really really well and I advise you to give it a try. The treasure that makes you draw 3 cards and discount them to 0 mana is completely bonkers.
Also came here because after our decks, I tried a couple other deck lists I found, and honestly, it feels a looooot smoother and a looot better than your, and my lists. It completely gives up on the deathrattle activators thing which always seemed awkward to me to use. Instead, it's using a Togwaggle package, only Khartuts and Applebaums as deathrattles, MCTs. Also 2x Shadowstep which is actually really good cause it works well with the Togwaggle package, and it allows you to shadowstep your first N'zoth, so you can N'zoth + Scheme without using coin/thaurissan.
The rest of the deck is pretty cycle heavy with 2x shiv 2x engineer 2x fok + thalnos. It feels much better : just survive and draw a lot and get in that "infinite" n'zoth loop.
Both new lists I've tried have the exact same core cards, with a small difference : one was running Anka+Hakkar+Thaurissan, as a way to deal with combo decks. I really like it because your endgame is unbeatable (really) so with this package you just can't lose the endgame. The other deck was running a more anti-aggro package, cutting Anka, Hakkar and Thaurissan for Doomsayers and Sylvanas.
Given what the ladder looks like rn, I think the anti-aggro version is overall better for ladder, but I'm the kind of guy who hates to lose against combo decks, and Hakkar is just tons of fun.
The link of the list I've been using if you're interested in giving it a try, or maybe get some ideas for your own deck : http://sharehs.com/rogue/16848/
I agree with your points and suggestions. After the first day, this deck's winrate dropped drastically. The rise of aggro is the main reason for that. I tried to come up with solutions for this particular concept but the decks simply can't create enough tempo to compensate the slow early game. I think "Big" Deathrattle "Control" Rogue needs to await another expansion.
I like the suggestions you came up with it. Yet, they're subjects of another deck concept (which I may try and post in the following days) as it offers totally different style of game play. They sound really fun tho, I can't wait to try them.
Thanks for taking time to give a constructive feedback. (and sorry for the late reply)
Hey no problem, I just hope we'll have time to play N'zoth til we're sick of it before it rotates back out xD This card is so cool
I totally agree! xD
Any replacement for Cairne Bloodhoof ? I dont have enough dust to craft him
