10 wins out of 13 so far from Rank 5 to 4. The proof is down below.
We compensate relatively slow start with lots of healing in the deck.
The idea is to reduce the cost of the deathrattle minions to 1 by Anka, the Buried, play them, trigger their deathrattles if we can and bring them back by N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
Anka, the Buried is Ok to play at turn 5 even if you have just 2 - 3 deathrattle minions in your hand as long as you also have Necrium Vial too. At turn 6, you can restore upto 16 health, you can summon 2 Mechanical Dragons or Baine Bloodhoofs or you can steal 2 of your opponent's minions.
I will refine this deck recipe and expand the guide through the following days.
MULLIGAN:
If yıu have the coin, absolutely keep Raiding Party and play it at turn 3.
Against Aggro:
- Shiv
- Fan of Knives
- Rotten Applebaum (Sahket Sapper against Carpet Zoo)
- Togwaggle's Scheme
Against Control:
- Anka, the Buried
- Shiv + Eviscerate vs Highlander; Fan of Knives vs Reborn
- Necrium Blade
- Togwaggle's Scheme
- Sahket Sapper (or Sylvanas Windrunner if you have all above)
CARD CHOICES AND TIPS FOR THE GAME PLAN:
- Preparation: This card can be really important for this deck as it allows us to play a deathrattle minion like Khartut Defender and Necrium Vial in the same turn which is really good for tempo. Let me explain it with three different scenarios;
- We played Anka, the Buried at turn 5 but we're down to 10 health by turn 6 and our opponent has 3 big minions on board. We can play 1/1 Khartut Defender, 1/1 Rotten Applebaum and 1/1 Sylvanas Windrunner (or Sahket Sapper) for 3 mana, then play Preparation and Necrium Vial on Sylvanas Windrunner to steal two of our opponents minions. Our opponents will be intimidated to play another minion the next turn as well. You'll be surprised how often that scenario happens.
- It's turn 8, we're too desperate to finish the game with 2 Eviscerates or find a taunt minion to hold on to the game. Preparation + Myra's Unstable Element allows us to do both in the same turn.
- We played Myra's Unstable Element on turn 9 and our deck is empty. At turn 10, we can play N'Zoth, the Corruptor, then Preparation and finally Togwaggle's Scheme to fill our deck 5-6 N'Zoth, the Corruptors. That's auto conceed for our opponent.
- Sahket Sapper: Again, there are multiple reasons to choose this card.
- You'd prefer to have this against Sylvanas Windrunner
- It's better to avoid deathrattles.
- It's better against divine shield taunt minions when your side of the board is full thanks to N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
- 4-attack is better for face damage or removing multiple minion: Kill one, send the other back to hand. (I was backstabbing Sahket Sapper sometimes just for that)
- Adds nothing to Resurrection pool.
- Blightnozzle Crawler: I don't like it for the reasons I listed above.
- Togwaggle's Scheme is added to the list.
- Emperor Thaurissan: is added to the list. You can even play it while holding just one copy of Togwaggle's Scheme
- Sahket Sapper and Sylvanas Windrunner are the keys to beat the combo decks. Slow your opponents with taunts till you get those cards in your hand.
CARDS TO CONSIDER: (in this order)
- -1 Preparation, +1 EVIL Miscreant
- -1 Preparation, +1 Myra Rotspring
- -1 Preparation, +1 Blightnozzle Crawler
- -1 Preparation, +1 Lab Recruiter
- -1 Preparation, +1 Annusibath Warbringer
GAME REPLAYS:
Coming soon....
Enjoy!
For any questions, you may find me on: HS World - Serginho Aldair
That's OK. You may want to try Safeguard or another Necrium Blade
mulligan guide please
I'll write it very soon. In an hour hopefully.
I updated the first post with mulligan and a bit of game plan.
thank you! ^_^
you should really add 1 scheme to shuffle endless nzoth in your deck in control matchups or a shadowstep for atleast a second nzoth
I agree, I added to the card suggestions. Thank you.
I'm so gonna ty this, always loved the big rogue archetype ini wild and was dissapointed that Anka was not that good there. Do you see any fit for Necrium Blade? Just wondering as the value might be a bit worse considering there's no Kobold illusionist.
It may work, 6-face-damage can also be nice. I just don't like its randomness when you have multiple deathrattle minions on board. Let me know how it goes for you.
I did a couple of games and won them all, at rank 20 though (usually play Wild) so not sure how reliable it is yet. But I never found it to be to awkward so far. I removed 1 prep for it. I guess it's a matter of preference as both Prep and the Blade can be kind of a useless card without supporting cards. I was doubtfull about Myra's drawing but it really saved my ass once.
Other than that I like the deck! tried something in wild but there it's too slow to play competitively.
lost to this, only because I didn't get Bloodlust in time (unlucky I guess), the deck seemed interesting even though I felt I could've easily won with a bit more luck (2x Bloodlust and Vessina in last 10 cards, he had to leave himself open against 5+ small minions for 3 turns...). My opponent didn't want to respond to my friend request so thanks for the code, gonna try it out :)
Is Myras must?
No, it's not. You can replace it with Acolyte of Pain for more card draw or EVIL Cable Rat for another lackey or another card like Blink Fox for more tempo
I wouldn't see why? Myra's is useful, but not really essential here. I think...
Hi, thx for sharing.
I ve all cards in my collection however I dont understand the value of Myra. Why u need to drain your deck.
Thanks for the comment.
It's there as a last resort when you're desperate for an Eviscerate to win or for a taunt to stay in the game. It saved me more than once.
