Intro:
Hey everyone! I'm Funki Monki and all I do is create meta-breaking (hopefully) homebrew decks! This list was inspired by King Phaoris and looking through warrior I noticed there were A LOT of good expensive cards to synergize with him like Dimensional Ripper, The Boomship and even Brawl and Plague of Wrath. After testing quite a few different versions like the Beast package (Oondasta, Akali, the Rhino, Witchwood Grizzly), and an Armor/Weapon package (Deadly Arsenal, Heavy Metal!, Armored Goon, Sul'thraze) I ultimately came up with this refined list which I've gone 7-1 with to rank 4!! I hope you all enjoy this fun, new deck :)
General Strategy:
We want to be playing as a typical Control Warrior for the first 1-5ish turns of the game, Using our hero power as much as we can without neglecting a threatening board from our opponent. Remember, we are not PURE Control Warrior so we do not have unlimited controlling resources and have to be a bit greedier with our control cards. Once turn 6 rolls around we can start doing our swing turns with Blatant Decoy to cheat out big minions and snowball from there. The name of the game is to stall as best we can until we can have our huge turns with The Boomship, King Phaoris, Dimensional Ripper, etc.
Mulligan:
Shield Slam, Weapons Project, Warpath, Shield Block, Brawl, Zilliax
Against Warrior (most are playing control) you can get greedy and keep your big minions, Dimensional Ripper, King Phaoris, The Boomship, etc
Against aggressive decks that go wide (Shaman, Warlock) you can keep Whirlwind, Archmage Vargoth
Against Priest you can keep Execute
Replacements:
Unfortunately this deck does need a few key legendaries to work well, inluding The Boomship and King Phaoris. All other big legendaries can be replaced with the biggest minions you have; preferably ones that have taunt or rush like Burly Shovelfist or Living Monument
I hope you like this deck and, as always, if you have any questions or have a suggestion please comment below (I respond to all comments)!

I've climbed 8 stars from rank 5 so far so it is definitely viable! You said you tried PREVIOUS versions...but have you tried THIS one? I made sure to refine this list very specifically to deal well against aggro, midrange AND control decks. Because aggro is our most difficult matchup I made sure to include many low costed control spells to deal with their early game (Whirlwind, Execute, for example), big mid game minions like Damaged Stegotron and Amani War Bear to bridge that mid game gap until the big late game swing turns.
I have tried many versions myself that all failed pretty hard until I came up with this list :). And now I've still only lost 1 game from rank 5 to rank 4, 3 stars so far
ow about something sticky like Cairne Bloodhoof? I would even consider to replace Phaoris with him. I think theere are to many cheap spells in this list.
I considered Cairne Bloodhoof but the weak point in this deck is the mid game, bridging the gap from your early control spells into your big late game swing turns so I believe having taunts (Damaged Stegotron) and rushers (Amani War Bear) not only put down threats but are great to stall against aggro decks until you can The Boomship or Dimensional Ripper to stabilize.
King Phaoris is great even if you just have one Dimensional Ripper or The Boomship in your hand. If you get a few cheaper minions as well from your Warpath or Weapons Project etc, a bonus free minion or two is never bad, right? ;) Also, he is very good against Control Warrior to bait out another Brawl from them and because your own Brawl or Plague of Wrath are mostly dead cards so then you can get value from them
Can anyone beat rank 5 with this? I've played both variations, with Phaoris and without and seem to only have a 38% win-rate at best with 20 games..Pretty much every deck beats it unless you have the PERFECT opener, but that's not easy to come by
Please let me know a better strategy that listed if it works for you, I don't want to give up because this deck is too unique and fun to quit
I went from 5 to rank 4, 3 stars, with this deck so it's definitely possible to climb! What decks do you seem to be struggling against the most? I'd love to help out :)
As far as with/without King Phaoris, I've tested both versions and with him was MUCH better simply because landing him against some decks is just insant-win. He IS still a 5/5 so worst case if you HAVE to use your The Boomship on 9 or happen to pull him with a recruit mechanic it's still a decently sized minion
I only tired about 7 games with so maybe ill do more! Also I added Dr. Boom and he comes in handy if all my late game is at the bottom of the deck, helps with mech synergy and also some more board control. Definitely recommend
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius isn't a bad card at all! I chose not to include him because by the time we can play him on turn 9 we're probably putting down a 9-10 mana cost minion or spell each turn so we can't really utilize his hero power much so the only value we get from him is the couple of mechs we have in the deck but we can sometimes already give them rush with The Boomship or The Boom Reaver. Also, by the time we actually play our big minions turn 9+ we're probably going to win in a couple turns anyway thanks to our big minions. However, if you like the inclusion and he is working for you then keep using it! :)
Isn't King Phaoris a liability for Dimensional Ripper? Do you think the downside of occasionally pulling him with the spell is worth the risk? I really like Big Warrior and i'd certainly like to try this but i don't have Phaoris (yet).
Good question! Yes, he is absolutely worth the risk of pulling him with Dimensional Ripper or The Boom Reaver because landing a big King Phaoris against many decks is just game winning. Worst case scenario, if you do pull him from Dimensional Ripper its still 10/10 worth of stats for 10 mana. He is also very good against Control Warrior where some of your cards are dead cards like Brawl and Plague of Wrath.
It is a very fun deck so feel free to try it without King Phaoris and see how it goes :)
This is an amazing deck!! Looks so fun to play!! :)
Thanks! And it is!! There's just something so satisfying about playing so many big minions lol
