Hi guys! I'm presenting you yet another off-meta Hunter decklist that I managed to climb legend with!
First of all I know that the winrate is not precise because of the small sample size but I just wanted to show you the cool deck. It is like 80% pure Secret Hunter but you have to play strong cards to reach legend, right? I have reviewed the stats from hsreplay.net and picked the strongest cards in my opinion. After that I put the hand package of 2xHunter's Pack, 2xMountain Giant and Halazzi, the Lynx. The deck already had Subject 9 which is a great hand-filler card and I added more secrets to make all of the secret synergy cards more consistent. I added 1xSandbinder to tutor the Mountain Giant versus Control matchups.
If you have a Hunter's Pack in your starting hand, you can play the Mountain Giant on turn 4 and start smacking them in the face #SMOrc
The perfect giant curve is:
without The Coin: Shimmerfly, Secret, Hunter's Pack, Mountain Giant
with The Coin: Secretkeeper, Secret, Hunter's Pack, Mountain Giant
Keep in mind that you should keep Mountain Giant only if you have the giant curve or against slow decks! Also don't forget that this is a TEMPO deck!
General mulligan
Always keep: Secretkeeper, Shimmerfly, Masked Contender,Hyena Alpha and the giant curve.
VS Aggro:
Keep: Explosive Trap.
VS Control:
Keep: Subject 9 and Mountain Giant.
*VS Priest:
Keep: Freezing Trap and Pressure Plate.
Card replacements
VS Aggro:
Replace Sandbinder with Unleash the Hounds.
Are pressure plate and snake trap really performing better than rat trap so as to include 2 copies? Not having 2-mana 3/4 pushes away from rat trap I'm sure, but rat trap has felt like an auto keep in the mulligan shutting down opponents for multiple turns in all the other most recent secret builds.
I'll admit that Rat Trap has a really good winrate but in my opinion it doesn't help against aggro at all (except Tempo Rogue). Also it is not very reliable to have 2 copies of it because most of the time you will get stuck with the second one your hand. I picked Snake Trap because it has amazing winrate against board focused decks and also you have 4x1-drops. Pressure Plate is here because the deck doesn't have any other single target removal and the secret is amazing vs Priest (and Mage). Also both secrets are really good pulls from Masked Contender and are often triggered quickly so the second copy doesn't get stuck in your hand, like Rat Trap. If you face a lot of Rogues or just like the Rat Trap feel free to replace one copy of Snake Trap.
That pressure game though PogChamp !
Nice game! Thanks for the support <3 :)
