Hi all, thanks for checking out this deck. I tried making a version of another deck I made that focusses solely on the combo potential:  https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1181198-wild-hunter-128-dmg-hero-power-otk

It was a bit one-sided and when disrupted you were often just done. The Highlander version has a damage cap of 32 with one hero power, but it is just one of many win conditions. Should the combo die out, then you can still rely on Deathstalker Rexxar and Zul'jin value.

Since the hero power is the main source of the combo, you should, in long games never play Zul'jin before Rexxar. You can play rexxar for aoe, armor, value building for a few turns, and then switch back to zul'jin for the OTK later in the game.

The nice added value of Stitched Tracker allows you to get copies of key minions like Reno, Emperor, Zephrys, etc. The timing of when you play him will influence your options, so be careful. Same goes for Master's Call with it's Zul'jin synergy.

Between the minion draw and Subject 9 you run out of deck real fast if you wish, so there are some nice sub alternatives if you happen to have them.

Gameplan

The idea is to stall out the game with the classic highlander cards and value cards like Hunter's Pack so you can get your combo pieces together, which are the following:

(i) Play Fencing Coach on a turn before you play your OTK. It's possible to play him on the same turn as Emperor Thaurissan, but remember not to use your hero power (HP) if you play him long before your OTK turn. Followed by

(ii) (Discount these pieces beforehand) Clockwork Automaton + Carnivorous Cube + Play Dead + Feign Death (or Terrorscale Stalker if you subbed him) + HP. This gives you 4 clockworks and a 2^5 (32) dmg hero power. Even with 1 activator it usually works (16 dmg). This is not specifically meant as an OTK deck, but just as a nice 4-piece combo that can surprise control decks.

Note: against slower decks it is possible to get a 2nd emperor via Stitched Tracker, allowing more than 1 mana reduction on some pieces, which might mean you can play the OTK without a Fencing Coach turn.

In most cases try to play Master's Call before Zul'jin if you can, so you can expedite the combo formation process once you get Zul'jin.

Mulligan

Against aggro try to find: Candleshot, Eaglehorn Bow, Wandering Monster, Flare (against hunters, mages, paladins), Reno Jackson. If you happen to get Stitched Tracker/Master's Call instead, they might get you (a 2nd) Reno while you curve out :) Stitched Tracker is preferred though, as his body also allows you to fight for the board.

Against control/combo try to find your combo pieces asap, specifically your spells (Feign Death and Play Dead), since the minions will come and the last ones you can tutor with Master's Call and Stitched Tracker.

Substitutes

If you do not own Feign Death, you could run Terrorscale Stalker and hope for the best ;) Alternatively, if you have FD, you can make it more of an OTK deck by including Terrorscale and subbing him for a less core card like Animal Companion.

Technically you can just use your Terrorscale as a 3rd trigger next to FD and Play Dead, but having another one just increases the chances of completing the combo sooner, since you can also draw him via Stitched Tracker and Master's Call.

Quick Shot could be nice sub for slower cards if you are seeing a lot of aggro. You can drop Call of the Wild for one of them.

Seeing many secret mages? Then you should probably run Eater of Secrets. Drop Deadly Shot for it.

Mega-greed packages:

Personally I love Crushing Walls, simply because it looks cool and is insane value with Zul'jin, but you could also consider the expensive route: Dinotamer Brann. I found him a bit slow and messes up the draw pool for your OTK, because he's a minion, but damn is he strong at times.

You can also, since you draw your minions and your deck quite fast, add cards like Rhok'delar which activates as soon as your last minion is drawn. Bit more risky, but definitely possible.

Alternatively you can go with Chef Nomi for super-late game value. He will be inactive most of the game though, the upside is that you can get an extra copy with Stitched Tracker, if you're lucky. Drop Crushing Walls at your own peril.
