Greeetings, my name is Bond, GamesBond. A seasoned (and exclusive!) Handlock player of recently acquired legendary status! I love and play Handlock for its sheer power and deep tactics.
1. The Goal:
This is a variation on Handlock that will attempt to counter the agressive format which is likely the new "Mech-Meta" when Goblins vs Gnomes is released, while also being even more effective against Midrange and Control decks. When the hype-dust settles, we look to our old favourites and make them better.
2. The Concept (Oh sweet tweaks!):
- The concept is to get more healing, something the Warlock class has always struggled with. How do we accomplish this? Antique Healbot heals for 8, almost triple that of Earthen Ring Farseer. No longer will we narrowly perish to that last Kill Command or Soulfire!
- "However, Earthen Ring Farseer also heals my minions!" True, and this is where Recombobulator comes in. It will turn damaged Molten Giants into fresh ones and damaged Mountain Giants into either healthy ones, or Clockwork Giants.
- Thirdly, we've switched out Soulfire for Darkbomb. The new mana cost of Soulfire makes the random card discard extra painful for Handlock players (even though we enjoy the occasional pain and torment!)
- Four. A new addition has been made! We have replaced Ancient Watcher with Ogre Brute. A solid turn 3 play that can sometimes attack past taunts. He does not require activation by silence, and makes for a great Shadowflame target at 4 attack! (Thanks to Xaiur, a most wise Warlock!)
Have fun, and Inferno!!
Please leave a comment and hit that button! (It seems small yet it helps)
Recombobulator card writeup! (Pray to RNGesus!)
|5 mana target| Antique Healbot or damaged Sludge Belcher
- Best case! Earth Elemental, Doomguard, Floating Watcher, or a brand new Sludge Belcher.
- Worst case! Stormpike Commando, Bolvar Fordragon, Starving Buzzard.
|4 mana target| Defender of Argus or damaged Twilight Drake
- Best case! Mechanical Yeti, Water Elemental, Pit Lord.
- Worst case! Gnomish Inventor, Twilight Drake, Dragonling Mechanic.
|12 mana target| Damaged Mountain Giant
- Two options, all good! Clockwork Giant, fresh Mountain Giant.
|20 mana target| Damaged Molten Giant
- Automatic reset to full health! Molten Giant.
|6 mana target| As per popular request, Inferno!
- Best case! Cairne Bloodhoof, Sylvanas Windrunner (give her the Shadowflames!), Piloted Sky Golem, Sunwalker.
- Worst case! Kidnapper, Mogor the Ogre (But wait... isn't that hilarious?), Priestess of Elune.
Update, December 7th: Trump emailed me that he liked the idea :D
Then, in action !
Update, December 11th: LiquidSavjs getting a clutch Legend 6 win with a slightly conservative version of the deck !
So I don't have a second Mountain Giant lol, So instead I'm using Mal'Ganis
Not a bad replacement but the idea for the Mountain Giant is because this is a Handlock deck so you are expected to have a lot of cards in your hand and usually you'll be able to place the Mountain Giant for about 4 man.
Mal'Ganis is more suited to Demonlocks and/or some Zoolocks where he can be summoned via Void Caller or at 9 mana where he then buffs other demons on the field. This deck has zero minions.
As previously stated though, its a not a bad replacement and I mean you do benefit from the hero immunity and with the amount of taunts you can get with this deck he may survive a while and your hero won't be prone to direct damage for example from Freeze Mages.
Hello everyone. I play Warlock (Handlock). The maximum rating of 10 season "Legend 15". Recorded a video of the game with explanations in Russian for YouTube, who may come in handy.
I know I'm going to sound daft, but is this deck viable without Jaraxxus? He is the very next legendary I plan to craft once I've saved up enough dust, so I figure I'd get in a little experience with handlock in the mean time. I don't have Alex either so she's not a possible replacement, does anyone have any suggestions for what I should go with. Perhaps go for a heavy weight like Rag, or try to keep my minions on the board with Kel?
i'd go with kel since shadowflame and giants
Just replace with sunwalker or something that is useful, you can't replace jaraxxus, Alex is closest. Maybe RAG would work.
I feel like this deck is lacking threats versus heavy control matchups, especially control warrior. Trying to fit in Dr. Boom and Sylvanas is worth considering. Perhaps 1 mortal coil and/or 1 recombobulator should be cut to make room.
Alright, so far I've only crafted 1 Recombobulator. Is it worth it to craft another one? I really like the idea of the card but i'm not sure if a second one would benefit me.
I'm only running one and it's working just fine.
It's worth. mate! One for an ancient heal bot, one for a giant - at least for me that's usually how it turns out. Or sometimes i just use it to shadowflame the board in the match against zoo/hunter.
Hey guys, I wanted to let everyone know that it's probably worth it to replace Jaraxxus with Alex. Reason being that a lot of decks are running harrison atm and I've had his weapon destroyed a couple of times and it has almost cost me the game. It's also an 8/8 too with the chances of being BGH slim due to earlier threats. Same with other removal, just my two cents.
I never actually got my weapon destroyed, but i ran Alex long ago, before GvG and probably Naxxramus. It worked great, but i usually used it like control Warriors do - i controlled the board, than halved the opponent's health and killed him with Leeroy.
It does not work right now as well as it was. You'll most likely have to Alex yourself to survive, and you'll only have a 8/8 for all the trouble. Since the matches with control players are usually long, you will be lacking Jaraxxus'es ability. While combined with Protectors of Argus or Recombobulators (never actually tried but minions for 6 mana are awessssome) it rules the world.
Hi I just came back to the game, and I can craft everything but
Lord Jaraxxus
Recombobulator × 2
Sludge Belcher × 2
What can I replace these with until I get these cards? I used to play handlock to around rank 9. That was before Naxx came out.
I'm having the same problem. Haven't managed to win a single game using this deck, let alone get my opponent down to half HP. Kinda regretting spending all that dust on this deck.
Anyone else feel like they have the worst RNG with Ogre Brute? I'm almost hesitant to play him because he hits the stupidest target 4/5 times and allows for my opponent to efficiently remove him in 1 turn. I almost feel like a spider tank would be a better gamble than dealing with ogre hitting the 1/1 or hitting the priest in the face rather than northshire or annoy-a-tron. Even if I can keep him on the board for two turns, he will usually hit the worst target a second time and I'm left sighing aloud, wondering why I bothered including him in the deck. Maybe it's just me...
I love this deck..went from 15 to 7 in a little more than a day. I took out one mortal coil added a (mind control) and took out one recombobulator and added a (sylvanas windrunner)...I can't tell you how many games Ive won using shadow flames with the sylvanas. My own mind control :)
I featured your deck in my top 5 decks of the season since GVG release. This deck is freaking amazing because I love the idea of the ogre brute and the recombobulator. Great decklist and probably the best handlock imo.
Nice video and your editing looks good gotta say :D.
Thanks so much! Although I consider myself still being a beginner!
OMG Thanks so much, and I am really glad you enjoyed the video!
